Wow, they turned out really nice. I need bifold doors too, but you lost me after the first cut. My deaf Dalmatian dog is named, Rory too. I named her after Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Canada.
I’m glad you like it and thankyou! I also wanted to do the same thing but the customer insisted he wanted it this way… thought it was a lot of weight on the hinges when fully extended but the doors weren’t to heavy after all.
Ok you got me,I was thinking swinging doors off the hinge wouldn't be strong enough, but obviously they can handle it. I was going to do a track system but I'm looking at over 1500 bucks Australian just for the track. I'm putting in four pine laminated 620mm doors the exact way now you did it.i see you went through to the wall studs for added strength. I think my doors probably wouldn't wiegh anymore than yours as it's pretty much the glass wieght isn't it? I'll have to go back and see what you did with the door stop trim though.
Was completed DOOR WEIGHT a factor on building the frame as well as hinges and fasteners length ? I was given a wooden two- door assembly with double glazed windows to close off the doorway to an entertainment room. The doors are rather heavy and I will need to remove the existing casing so I can re-shim the folding door casing. It is inside the home so weather intrusion is not a main factor. Thanks for the video. JwgK in Houston , TX.
Yeah most definitely, I was concerned that the doors would be too wide and heavy to handle when fully extended but I used 4inch butt hinges with 100mm screws on the casing side which also went into the post behind to give extra security. Turns out it does work and what I have done is enough to withstand... no problem, good question! Thanks
This was amazing! I plan to build a "she shed" and I really wanted folding glass doors. I believe I'm going to build my doors because I want wood but I definitely want to save on cost.
great video mate, did you recess the inner frame to fit the glass or did you just add strips to hold it in place? also did you use putty or water proof caulk along the edge to keep water out?
These are awesome! Any idea roughly how heavy these doors are? I'm looking to do similar but haven't found a strong hinge that holds two doors without a top track
Thanks! No idea on weight sorry, they have x3 4” butt hinges on both and the tracking was something I wanted to put on but the customer insisted it will work and it did 😅
alright mate just wondering what type of wood you used to make these doors? i need to build a set of these doors and was considering using western red cedar as its durable but it is a soft wood though
Alright pal. Yes it is western red cedar, I used it cause it’s natural properties can withstand all types of weather and it’s nice to work with as well as it looking amazing!
OMG...you are so Sexy and Talented that I had to watch this video 3 times cause I couldn't concentrate! The doors look BEAUTIFUL and so do you!
😂😂😂 why thankyou
amazing stuff, I am jealous
For the first time ?
I don’t believe it.
The result is too good 👍

Thankyou Samantha! Sorry you couldn’t make much sense of it… perhaps next time I’ll slow it down and do a voiceover 👍
❤❤❤ love it. This is the exact idea I had. But I was thinking of using a track to keep them in place but this is better. Thank you for sharing.

Just what I needed! How do you make the center piece in order to stop those doors from moving? Thanks, great job!
Thanks pal! I put a tower bolt on one side of the doors so its stays fixed and then have a tubular latch and keeper on it so it stays closed.
Could you give me details how to do? I want to build a bi fold for my patio decking
This was amazing! I plan to build a "she shed" and I really wanted folding glass doors. I believe I'm going to build my doors because I want wood but I definitely want to save on cost.
Thankyou! It depends on what timber you use, this is western red cedar which is expensive cause it’s known for lasting well in all weathers.
What did you use as the filler, glass or solid polycarbonate, and what thickness was it?
they look really nice too
Thankyou! this was 6mm toughened glass.

WARBOW MAKING agincourt Thanks man! I used strips 👍
Could you give the size of timber for frame and size of timber for 4 doors ? Thanks
Sorry I hadn’t got back sooner.. these doors were around 760mm wide I’ll leave the rest up to you ;)
What hardware did you use and where did you purchase?
I used external chrome 4” Ball bearing hinges, external chrome handle, 3” tubular latch and tower gate bolt for fixing slave doors shut. Try ironmongery direct 🤙
Nice work bud. What wood did you use if you don’t mind me asking? 👍
Thanks pal! I used western red cedar.
