    As a DIY enthusiast with some big projects of my own to work on I love all Mr A Builders videos as they help me no end. I recently installed my own kitchen (first time) and I bought myself a Stabila digital level (told the wife I neeeeeded to have it). I found the digital part very useful when levelling the cabinets as it provides an audiable tone when perfectly level. it meant i could just adjust the feet and listen to the tone rather than checking the bubble after every twist. Every little helps. 👍

    I was having a giggle at your expense when some bit of this incredibly techie job went a bit wobbly, and the phrase "6P" came to mind(Proper prior planning prevents p**s poor performance).. Not actually applicable in this case but it was the realisation that the standard opening hinges of those top upward opening cupboards were going to hit the ceiling!!! Another learning moment. Nice work as always. Wanna hear my radical concept? No wall mounted cupboards. I have an irrational hatred of them. They make a room feel oppressive and cramped and only serve as a place to store crap. I didn’t put any in when I replaced our old kitchen and the room feels open and spacious and allows room on the walls for a bit of wanky art and a narrow shelf of fancy tat my wife likes to display. Trust me you don’t need them. We can adequately store all our stuff in floor mounted cupboards, (family of four). More cupboards = more space you don’t need so you fill it with crap. Try it, I dare you.

    • @mrabuilders6723
      @mrabuilders6723  4 дні тому

      Well Phil here’s my reply and my opinion.
      The wrong way around based on what exactly? Have you seen the channel before? If you have you’ll know that the kitchen floor was a flat and level surface following our liquid screed. The customer decided to have LVT and the floor layer was organised by the customer. The fact he was there the same time was not my doing and certainly not ideal. I’m sure it’s a great way for a floor layer to have no obstacles but it’s certainly a waste of money for the Customer to have the extra m2 of ply and latex and flooring under cupboards. 👍🏻

    • @phil25051
      @phil25051 4 дні тому +1

      @@mrabuilders6723 Fair comment. Out of your control then?
      Lvt is not a short term flooring solution like maybe sheet domestic cushion floor, so in my opinion i would of insisted in having it fully fitted wall to wall and sealed. Not trying to save a couple of pound on a project of this scale. It would of avoided the block of wood you have used under one of the units legs!!
      In the future when a kickboard has to removed for what ever reason, will the sealant that i assume you are going to use be replaced? Probably not! The next problem could be the LVT blowing off the adhesive due to water? Depending on what adhesive has been used.
      If you think im correct dont reply🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @mrabuilders6723
      @mrabuilders6723  4 дні тому

      @phil25051 flooring was nothing to do with us and didn’t get organised by us. We found out the floor layer was on site three days before I was due to fit the kitchen and had no time to reschedule. Saving a few quid isn’t down to us on a job that’s not in our quote. Our opinion was never asked for so therefore wasn’t offered. I’m presuming the customer followed the instructions from the floor layer and not the person who knows nothing about LVT flooring and doesn’t wish to. My comment was merely my opinion which is what we are both well within our rights to offer. If you think you right that’s fair enough.

    There’s no need for pink board under the stair. Neither storey is relying on it for escape and the stair is open to the room, so it’s not required from a regs point of view.

    If any work needs doing on the manifold will it be:
