Hello Vuaeco, I wanted to tell you that because of you I have customly build 2 ebikes. the first one I used the imortor 1.9 and parkside lithium batteries 4Ah 5S. I 3D printed mounts and used copper wire spikes to connect them in series. now I can ride 40km instead of 7 on the original battery for a cost of only 40 euro in batteries. The second one was made with a controller from aliexpress and an old high quality motor that i salvaged from an ebike with a blown up controller. I went with a controller that came with waterproof connectors and those perform amazing. It was totally compatible. the only difference with imortor is that it uses a very nice 350W sinewave controller. The square wave controller from aliexpress makes a bit more sound.
I'm always amazed by your videos. You always make things work out and most importantly with what's available at hand. CAT-5 cable? Female power connector from an old MODEM? I bet you were the most sought after lab partner at all your EE classes. Keep up the good work!
How do you know this? In fact, Swagtron's original controller has a flat aluminum frame on the bottom which they mount and put thermal compound on and they use the inside of the scooter frame as an external heatsink for the controller.

Wow from just the speed controller yes . Not the battery yet the battery was still 36v . So got to be a 46v then u will have to go more power . Can not wait to see
Time to break out the kobalt batteries. I'm curious if you'd need to limit the current to the wheel once you do upgrade to 48 v so you dont spin the tires, or reprogram the throttle control to spool up the wheel slower.
Good video. Scooter needs a bit of work but think u got it mate. I just had to take mine apart cos everytime I hit a small bump or lump in the road or path the scooter loses power suddenly and won't drive again. On closer inspection towards controller one of the connecters was lose. They also stuffed the handle with like some white foam to hold all the wires in place so when I do need to replace motor or someone on my m365 I probably will have to get in there and hack the shit out of it like. Why they put it in I don't know.
Could you have used the original display? I need to replace mine but confused about what to do with 3 wire ( red, blue , black) from display... guessing throttle. And confused what to do with the 4 wire (purple, green, yellow, white) which I believe you said goes to display. My new controller doesn't have a connector that said for throttle or display

Im in the process of doing this. The blue wire from the controller is the ignition. The red one is directly from the battery. Im getting the 5 vots from the break wiring. There is 3 wires together blue,red,black(ignition wires. And the other 4 ,the white one is the throttle.
I've watched your video over and over pause it then play again on my throttle has red green and black all three in connecter. Plus has a yellow , and blue wire . Do I still need to put the power on and off button with a new key, display screen throttle or I don't want to have both . To start swaggers 5

Lol only 16mph my swagger5 goes 23mph and 18 to 20 miles of range more then the normal xiaomi. And is STOCK. bit is the boost version if you get that one you will have extended rang and speed.
Or if thats too much, I have a m4 pro electric scooter of course that was 800$ and it can get up to I think 30 miles of range or a bit more and can hit speeds of 25 to 30mph. Is pretty good ngl.

DIY upgrades are always better, have you ever think about upgrade to 60V? it will be much more fun.

How do you hook up a key throttle to a swagger 5 electric scooter

Riding down testing speeds is not very accurate… you should do it on a level surface seems more accurate and practical for daily use

Mine says that too. It's not an accurate speedometer, I clocked it using a gun and it was reading +2mph.

You know that you can just remove speedlimiter.
Let's assume you could do that. But that little controller is still 250 Watts. If you want better performance, you need a higher rated controller.
