A *really* excellent video introduction to this software. I'm a complete noob at 3d printing (and therefore slicing) and even though I had picked up a tip or two from other videos, this has helped immensely with understanding what high level features the software has, where parameters are placed, and the workflow. Well done, and I will watch the follow on ones as well. Thanks!
I think orthogonal is a specific view - perpendicular to some plane (side, top etc). Orthographic in these softwares usually is an option for determining if depth is captured in how it display the part. In contrast with perspective. So I do think Bambu gets it a little wrong or confusing in Studio. In Solidworks you can turn on perspective mode but it’s not default since it can be very deceptive (like he demonstrates) if you don’t know it’s on. Also you can show an orthogonal view in perspective mode, if that makes sense.
I work with 3D rendering software specifically for medical imaging and I've only seen the term 'orthogonal' used as well. Poh-tay-to, poh-tah-to, I guess.

WOW, just the video series I need...I just bought the Bambu Labs X1-Carbon 3D printer with the AMS during their Black Friday sale. I have only printed 2 files (included with the X1-carbon) - the Benchy and the Bambu Scraper. And, now I want to get some of my own stuff designed and printed. This is only my second 3D printer, the first being a FlashForge Creator Pro (2017) and I hardly used that machine because there wasn't very much tutorial type info out there. And, that manual bed leveling was crazy !! Thanks so much and I am now a subscriber. Charlie in Central Ohio
just got a bambu mini a1 a few days ago and so far im loving it! started printing right out the box. I had a ender 3 for about a year and a half and never could get it to print anything. Only was able to get it to make maybe 3 things and they weren't that good. even with the auto bed leveling i bought for it it still just wouldn't print. So we sold it and got the bambu mini and my god i love it. And the app is really good as well. I think I'm sticking with bambu from now on.
Just got my P1S, printed the little Benchy boat and ready to move on. This video was exactly what I needed to watch!!! Looking into your Patreon next, thanks for all the info here!
To be honest I don’t have anything bad to say about the printers they make a high quality product that works great. It’s the closest thing to a plug in print 3D printer I’ve seen.
I've been a tried and true Cura user, but Bambu Studio has really won me over. I'll be purchasing the P1S soon and I wanted to familiarize myself with the Bambu slicer. In doing so I now use the software for my Elegoo as well. I'm a big fan. If the slicer is any indication of the new printer I'm getting I will be very satisfied ❤
26:55 "I'm not going to go into depth..." 😭 That's the exact reason I watched this video! 🤣 I want to know if that's a list of the spools I have installed or the colors I WANT to be in the print. If I change them here, will it warn me I don't have the color installed? I'm just getting into 3D Printing and your videos are AWESOME!!! Hope you have one for coloring models and printing in multi-color. Tips and tricks on that too. Thanks.
Thanks for the video on the Bambu Studio Slicer!! I find it much easier to learn when I have visual reinforcement!! I am very much looking forward to the next video of the series!! Your videos have been a great help!!!
@ItsMeaDMaDe I will definitely look for it!! And add it to my Bambu Labs Playlist! P.S. please feel free to go into the weeds. The more I learn, the more I benefit from my new P1S. Thanks again.
Awesome guide thank you for this. I've been using cura for the past 4 years and just purchased the A1 combo, whilst waiting for it to arrive I thought id check out the slicer it uses and by the looks it's just like cura. Which I'm very happy about. 👍🏼 Thanks again..
Love your tutorials, very helpful. Perhaps you can help me with a dilemma I’m having…..I have the P1S and I’ve been trying to print with PC and ASA and all I get is one failure after another, it seems like no layer adhesion no matter how much I tweak the settings. Funny thing is I’ve had no problem printing with these filaments on my AnkerMake M5C.
Hahaha, I'm sitting here with a headache, trying to get a head start learning about my first ever printer, the A1 Mini..... THANK YOU SO MUCH for turning on dark mode..😂..I'm about to binge your series. Thanks for the great video! 🙏👊🏻
New Subscriber, Our Bambu P1S is on its way. Thank you for helping me learn about the new slicer. It's not completely foreign to Cura. I love seeing the capabilities, especially the camera. I've been thinking of installing one in our print room for years. It will save me from running up and down stairs to check prints (I may have to visit the gym more often). I made a cheat sheet while I was following your tips. I'm looking forward to watching your other videos. Well done:)
Ok first off love your vids, just off the bat I didnt know there was a dark mode for this slice nor really looked for it till I started watching this. So now my bambu slice is so much easier on my eyes lol.
Awesome video! I'm looking at upgrading my old QIDI, which has served me well for business prototyping, as well as home widgets, but am looking at upgrading to the Bamboo X1-Carbon and just downloaded the Studio to take a look and your video helped out quite a bit.
8:00 "Orthographic projection is a type of 'parallel' projection in which the four orthogonal views of an object are shown." So orthogonal view in this case is the right term .
I used cura slicer but now I prefer Orca Slicer as it is a lot faster and better. This Bambu Labs Slicer is the same as Orca Slicer. I am getting a Bambu Labs P1P so I dont have to alter my slicer, thats great news, or I download Bambu Sliceer too just for hte BL P1P printer.
Thanks for the great video. "Zoom to Mouse Position" in Preferences was off by default on my installation. I hated zooming until I found that box and checked it.

That’s awesome I’ve really enjoyed mine. Bambu studio is a great slicer for the Bambu printers. I’ve liked it a lot. More tutorials to come.
I've been a tried and true Cura user, but Bambu Studio has really won me over. I'll be purchasing the P1S soon and I wanted to familiarize myself with the Bambu slicer. In doing so I now use the software for my Elegoo as well. I'm a big fan. If the slicer is any indication of the new printer I'm getting I will be very satisfied ❤
same here
Absolutely fantastic tutorial. Thank you
Great video! Orth-AH-gunnal view is an old school drafting term coined way before 3D printers.
Lol yes, Or-thogonal
This is exactly what I needed as a newbie to 3d printing. Thank you!
Hi, You have been a great help as I am a first time user of Bambu printers and 3d work. Thanks for your video. Cheers Ian - New Zealand
Ffs, I've been slicing plates just to see where the supports will be!! Thank you for saving my future time!!
Thanks.
I have a specific video just talking about the ams. So be sure to check that out.
Thanks for the video on the Bambu Studio Slicer!! I find it much easier to learn when I have visual reinforcement!! I am very much looking forward to the next video of the series!! Your videos have been a great help!!!
I’m the same way I like to see it. I just released the second video today just Incase you missed it.
@ItsMeaDMaDe I will definitely look for it!! And add it to my Bambu Labs Playlist! P.S. please feel free to go into the weeds. The more I learn, the more I benefit from my new P1S. Thanks again.
I joust bought a P1P with AMS for my first printer. This is the best overview I have seen thank you!
To the point video, got me started quickly. Keep up the good work mate

I loved this beginners video on the Bambo slicer, thanks! Hopefully there’ll be more vids coming on this very slicer.
Awesome. Glad it could be useful. I’m working on more videos now another one will be up in a day or so.
Excellent video, well explained and presented, easy to understand, one of the best i've watched.
Awesome glad it helped thanks so much for the comment.
Awesome guide thank you for this. I've been using cura for the past 4 years and just purchased the A1 combo, whilst waiting for it to arrive I thought id check out the slicer it uses and by the looks it's just like cura. Which I'm very happy about. 👍🏼
Thanks again..
I just bought a Bambu and found this video really helpful. Please make more.
Many thanks, I learned a lot for my new Bambu A1 usage with the Studio
hello from the future. appreciate the video.
Awesome video !!! Thanks a lot... Looking forward to printing my first project as soon as my new A1 arrives !!!
Thanks for the video, but where is the file cooper-shell? Can we download and trace your steps?
my question too
Thx Chris, you really made getting into this printer much easier!
Wow! Very good teacher!
Hahaha, I'm sitting here with a headache, trying to get a head start learning about my first ever printer, the A1 Mini..... THANK YOU SO MUCH for turning on dark mode..😂..I'm about to binge your series. Thanks for the great video! 🙏👊🏻
Awesome best of luck on your 3D printing journey!
Danke!
Thanks. I did not know how to do support. I needed it on a few models.
Well done:)
Best video yet. Thanks so much, you're the goat.
The bambu lab wiki is everything you need for the a1 , awesome!
Great video! 👏👏👏
Glad you liked it!
Thanks! This helps me a lot!!!
Awesome, exactly what I was looking for. Great video!
Awesome! I love your teaching style! Learning so much about Bambu from you!
Getting my P1S next week. This was very, very helpful.ty
That’s awesome! I released the second video this week just Incase you missed it. Good luck with your printer!
Orthogonal is correct. Orthographic is when you have more than one view in orthogonal (front, side, top) like is cad drawings.
Thanks so much for this awesome video! Cheers from Madrid!
Wow, love this video! Learned a lot, clear, quick and easy. Really appreciate you. Subscribed and onto more.. 🎉
Ok first off love your vids, just off the bat I didnt know there was a dark mode for this slice nor really looked for it till I started watching this. So now my bambu slice is so much easier on my eyes lol.
Thanks for making this video. I learned a few things! Looking forward to the next episode!!
I'm so glad I could give you some good tips. I'm looking forward to the next ones too!
1st of all, LOVE THE MUSTACHE! Your videos are super helpful!
1st. Thank you! 2nd. Thank you glad you find them helpful
Great video! A full up specifically on some in depths in the strength and support settings would be helpful!
Very helpful for a beginner. Thanks.
Great stuff!! You went over everything except the GLOBAL/OBJECTS switch below the filament selector.
Just what I needed 👍👍
