Freydis Sharland... I became quite emotional during this part. "the Spitfire was a very easy thing you see... like all fighters really, very simple to fly, you just pointed it somewhere , opened the throttle and off you went". 🙏🏼🤩 But... the ending... Oh God... tears flowed. 😭❤️

I remember the house of my grandparents. It was a semi detached when built but in the war the other half was bombed to the ground. In the cellar of that house the whole family died. Not by the impact of the bomb but they drowned due to burst waterpipes and not being able to get out (the house on top of them). Only a little puppy survived, found bobbing in the water in a cookie tin with the saving accounts of the children next to it 😢. My grandmother always hated my granddad for repairing their home instead of pulling it down. She never went into her cellar either. Nobody was allowed down. Can’t imagine the fear of being huddled in a damp cellar knowing you could be crushed to death with a direct hit, drown or be gassed by burst water- and gaspipes.

Whose idea was it to play German and English translation together and RUIN A FANTASTIC collection of images and fascinating subject. The obtrusive music is the final straw.

    What a shame!
Dubbing Mixer Claudia Alhers should have been fired.
I join many others commenting on the background music being so loud it was difficult to hear the English narrative being spoken over the foreign language of the interviewee thus spoiling the enjoyment of this interesting documentary.

This is great, except the sound. When they do the voice overs, the sound of the German speaking person is still to loud so that I could hardly hear the English translation,. Frustrating.

I cannot hear the music because the narration is too loud.

Timeline needs to chill with the background music, especially the blaring horns and woodwinds.

Great documentary showing the real struggles women had to deal with during wartime alongside the men who fought in WWII, No modern woman, specifically those who wave the feminist flag could handle a day in the shoes of these women. Bless these women!

Would have been a wonderful documentary but music far to loud drowning out the real people being interviewed and making it impossible to concentrate. The English spoken at the same level as German was horrible and just a mess.
