- We have a lot of aquariums we need to get setup yesterday for fish that need to be moved from upstairs. It is a rainy day but we can still get stuff done! Amber wants to do two 20 gallon long nature aquarium setups for the living room racks. Let's hang out and chat about nature fish tanks

Hi. I love watching your show. It's very informative. I need some advice with my aquarium. I have 30 gallon tank and I've been having issues with algae. It's all over the tank and I needed to remove my fish every time I clean it then it will come back after 1 week. I use the tetra algae control meds every 3 days and still didn't control the growth of the algae. I don't even have plants in my tank. Can you help me.
Yes, I am not sure how many fish are in the tank. But if one 20% water change a week does not help with the built up Nitrites in your aquarium try doing two 20% water changes a week. Also lower the amount of hours you have the light on for. I only give some of my tanks 5 hours of light a day. Too many nutrients in the water and too much light will cause the algae.

I use it as the main component to my base layer of substrate. It's extremely porous so it absorbs any fertilizer you might add. It's great for plants
is the clay ok for shrimps
I am not sure if natural clay kitty litter is ok for shrimp. I do know that it will do nothing to buffer the pH. I would always cap kitty litter with sand or something of that nature.
Yes it's just all natural clay. There is nothing in it that would affect shrimp or fry. Can be messy, but it's just plain clay pieces.
@@JHAquatics Considering all our shrimp are kept in tanks with it as a base I would say yes it's safe. Besides I cannot think of a single reason plain clay would cause an issue with any freshwater aquatic critter.
