Zeta movies just feel like watching a cutscene compilation
I prefer the original series ending.
After Kamille unleashes his psychic attack for the final blow, in one last moment Sirocco concentrates and unleashes his as a counter attack.
Though he is killed and Kamille is victorious, the overwhelming power of the mental attack leaves him in a degraded state of mind, he is now no different from a baby and in need of constant care.
Fa decides to stay with him in hope of healing and attempt to bring back the old Kamille.
(Too bad ZZ sucked)
Surviving the attack, Casval (Char) is overwhelmed with callous and hatred from these events. The "death" of Kamille was the last push as this was yet another failed attempt to "fix things". Seeing that humankind is short sighted creatures with souls weighed down by gravity, Char decides to help them overcome this, by giving them a little push to leave Earth.
Continues in Char's Counter Attack.
I dunno I'm finally getting around to zz. And after doing a recent watch of zeta. I like it a lot! But fuck some of the character writing is down right awful. And the dialogue half the time.is pretty weird. Like people don't talk like this. I like the ideas and themes. And the battles. And I think all of the og 79 characters are great. Except kotz moron was asking to die every episode lol. I just couldnt find myself to care about many of the supporting cast on the Titans. Except Jared. Every cyber new type character just sucked. Not that I thought they were particularly awful characters they just felt rushed. Like they were there to be a tragedy but we didn't get enough breathing room to care about them. I'm think of 4 specifically. I'm 10 episodes into zz and this my first time watching. I stayed away for years because of comments like this and I can say. I already like characters so much more than zeta's. I really do like zeta quite a bit. I don't understand how zz sucks or is worse.
I feel like they changed it because the original was too dark
ZZ is a mixed bag for me, on one hand I kinda like it because of the gundam team and on the other hand the story kinda sucked then again it introduced some pretty cool mobile suit designs like the double zeta which always gives me goosebumps when it docks, also the doven wolf which inspired the future silver bullet gundams, the queen mantha with its epic proportions, the hamma hamma which inspired Unicorns Rozen Zulu, and lastly the mega rider which is legit the coolest thing I've seen in Gundam its a freaking bike for a mobile suit except its also a hyper bazooka launcher and that it flies giving it more mobility for a mobile suit that would mount it

I liked a new translation. It was a nice recap of the older series with a happier ending. So i see it as an alternative universes zeta. I prefered the series though. More meat in that, and then kamille in zz makes more sense.
I agree, especially after finishing these videos. I'll probably circle back to the 1985 series in the near future, I think it's necessary.

after watching the trilogy, i was so confused. This helped me understand things a little more, but JEEZ is is it unclear.

What did we learn from Z Gundam:
1. People from Jupiter are super sexy.
2. Cyber Newtypes are all batshit insane.
3. Char's piloting skills are starting to plateau.
4. Pilots younger than the MC are annoying and stupid.
I still think that the Zeta Trilogy should have been remade rather than clip show + minor new scenes considering how much money Gundam Seed made and how much of a mess GSD and other spiritual successors other series like Age tried to be.
Gundam OO is a spiritual successor to Gundam Wing but IMO season 2 of OO was bad and season 1 was perfect to me.
Zeta was such an amazing candidate for a remaster but I think I'd rather have a remaster of the original MSG first as it needs it more; but Zeta changed a lot of the universe from scifi to fantasy so I feel its equally important in its own way
@@down2earth485 Gundam (UC) is very weird when you think about it, it's usually Sci-Fi with a touch of fantasy (Newtype Magic) but I'm not a fan of Unicorn's full blown Newtype conclusion.
I think besides the outdated animation, MSG story/trilogy probably remains to be very solid, the fact that MSG:The Origin ends right at the beginning of MSG shows that you can probably go into the series without any problems (also MSG Trilogy is structured very well for 52 episode series).
Also I just learned that Netflix is adding all sorts of Gundam stuff. Besides Hathaway and CCA, I think they released the MSG Trilogy in mid June as well.

Yes but in the original Mobile Suit Zeta T.V. series, but not here in the Zeta trilogy compilation, good news is that Kamille gets a happy ending bad news it completely undermines the sequel Mobile Suit Double Zeta series plus other's after it unfortunately

Alright, i watched zeta till ep33 yesterday. Guess i dont wanna continue bcs emma dies in the end along with reccoa. I know.. I know its just standard gundam plot where everyone dies, buti just dont wanna feel that sadness again after seeing Orga Itsuka died in IBO

unlike most of the people in the comments, i enjoyed the Zeta movies and the ending. the only thing i didn't like is how they changed Four's death, and how it didn't have the same impact it did in the series.
Rosamia barely played an important role in the movie compare to the tv series too
