I had so much fun making this apron, looks like I'm gonna have to do a lot more cooking! Thanks for helping decide which pattern to use!
I love the way it turned out!!
Thank you very much sharing what it is like sewing with a cat. The struggle is real with those cute little devils. 😊
Isn't it though! I even have a decoy area next to the table with a pile of fabric yet still... lol
I wouldn’t change a thing. It looks so much fun. My goal is to make some aprons for when I start teaching because elementary school classrooms can get messy. I want to be Ms. Frizzle but with aprons.
oh my gosh...yes...classrooms are so messy and Ms. Frizzle goals are perfect. lol
Lol love when you had to fight with the car for table space. Sometimes I feel like modern plus size underwear needs to understand we don't want runways either 😂 more fabric all around please on apron bibs included.
I usually lose those fights, but he's so cute so I deal. lol GAH HA HA...underwear does need to understand.
This video popped up in my feed and OH MY!! I L-O-V-E LOVE this!! I'm heading to my sewing loft instead of doing laundry now! It's perfectly pink & polished with your dress as a back drop. There's nothing about this to not love!
The monster noises, amazing! Love the cat intermission
It cracked me up so much that I had to add it. :D
I came for the apron. I stayed for the cute kitty kitty footage! :)
He knows what the people want! More ginger kitties interrupting everything. lol
You are the true essence of a vintage girl! Lovely👍
L♡ved....L♡ved the apron!! It came out beautifully🤩. It is way too pretty to cook in lol.
And a big applause of course to the STAR of the show...🐱😉!
I have to admit I'm very careful what I cook while wearing it...no red sauces! lol I will be sure to let him know that he has a fan club. ❤️❤️❤️
The apron is beautiful! Know what it's like having your kitty help. Mine also likes to knock everything down.
Those helpful kitties...we wouldn't be able to get anything done without them. LOL
Looks lovely! Watching this will making a Jane Austen dress for a Friend, have a grear day ♥️
Ooooo....I'm one of those weirdos who loves Regency clothes (well honestly I love Austen therefore...) so I'm super intrigued at your project!
@@JenniferElise i'll tag you on Instagram if i remember ♥️ hihihi
Rock that apron housewife!
Makes one feel sassy in the kitchen for sure!
The apron turned out lovely and such perfect fabric combinations. The estate find and 1950s vibe the apron and kitchen give off is everything.
Awww...thanks! I love getting to use items that have a story behind them. ❤️
OMG @20:36!😅....my cat does the same thing! If I'm sewing something, guaranteed she will choose to lie down right on top of it😻😹Loooove the Apron! Came out super cute🥰....I too am "Tickled Pink" about it 😍😆👍💗
Our cats must be plotting together. I've even tried to put out decoy fabric...it only works half of the time. lol
@@JenniferElise No way! I'm going to try that out 😆....thanks for the tip!
Such a clever lady! You make me wish I had some sewing skills. Way, way back, when I was at school, I had to make a straight skirt. It took me a full year because I was soo bad the teacher kept making me rip it out and start again. I ended up with a dirty, crumpled mess that wouldn't have fit a blob monster from space. Heyho. I watch you and dream, lol.
That makes me sad...bad teachers are the worst, they can suck the fun outta everything. I'm glad you can at least virtually sew with me. ❤️
Your skin looks stunning. Better than ever.
Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
Interesting to watch the process. That bottom trim is gorgeous. The apron is fantastically beautiful.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️❤️
I loved the material and colour choices for this apron, it all worked so well and made such a pretty finished product. Personally, I wouldn't know whether to wear it or put it on display!
Awww...thanks so much! I have it hanging in the kitchen since it's too pretty for a drawer! lol
"What is that? It's a runway, is what it is!" Girl, that had me dying! The apron turned out lovely in the end. Great job! Love the bright pink stripe. Is it from an Atomic Starlet skirt?
You should have heard what I cut out! gah ha ha You have a good eye...it was leftover fabric from the Romona skirt.
What do I think??….. it’s ADORABLE!!!!!
Oh my goodness this is so cute I want it as a skirt.
That's such a great idea!!!
@@JenniferElise the top part also makes me think overall shorts. I’m going to have to try and draft that for myself
love the result! Your changes made a lot of sense to me :)
Yay...thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
You definitely picked the right material and trims!
SOOOOOO CUTE!!!!
I was so happy I was able to use that trim!!!! Makes me so happy!
What a beautiful apron! Not only that it really looks good layered over a dress.
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ It's almost a fashion accessory! ;D
I'm wanting a apron but got to order one as don't have a sewing machine at the moment . So glad when you popped up with a video , you always cheer me up and I needed it and really enjoy your videos
Hand sewing can be a super fun project, especially since you can sit on the couch and watch a movie while doing it. ;D
@@JenniferElise I'm feeling inspired ,I may give it a try . Thank you 🙂
Agreed that the eyelet is what gives it that extra pop! Love this apron a lot and I feel like I learned some useful pattern deviations
Thanks! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Now to find more things to put eyelet on! lol
I have that pattern and the wide pink strip fabric! I love how older patterns seem to not call for as much fabric. ❤
Regarding the amount of fabric, they wore girdles back then! 😆
This is so gorgeous, Jen!! I’m getting vintage Farrell’s vibes… Do you remember Dr. Jazz in Chicago? I’m showing my age! LOL I love it! You look like you should have little cartoon bluebirds and bunnies surrounding you.
✨💖✨
I'll take that compliment and the cartoon critters! Sadly we never went there...you're making me wish we had though!
@@JenniferElise I absolutely love that you made an apron. I’ve got my nieces subscribing to you. They actually go to sewing camp in the summer. I think you’re inspiring them! 😘
Absolutely LOVE this apron. I love Pink and its soooo stinking cute. Great job
Yay...it was so fun to make.
The apron turned out super cute
Smashing! Just what I wanted to see! It's gorgeous, you look gorgeous in it.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Super CUTE! That turned out so well!
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
So cute! Btw, you are so much more patient with your cat than I am.
Wow wow wow 👏 that is fabulous. All your fabric and trim choices were spot on as were your deviations from the instructions especially the shoulder straps. Have you ever tried Gertie's method of gathering. Once I tried it I rarely use anything else. She uses dental floss and does a zig zag stitch over it. Then you pull up the dental floss once attached you can pull the floss out. By the way the first pink top you are wearing looks stunning on you perfectly matching your hair. In fact congratulations on your whole look throughout this video well done 😊
I have not!!! I must have missed that! I might have to try that! Thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
I second the Gertie method for gathering. Works like a dream and it’s faster!
This is sooo cute. Strawberry cupcake viibes :D
OMG...I love that! ❤️
Oh my goodness!!! How cute!!! This turned out great.
Thanks girl! I had a blast making it and of course thought about you when I saw the factory folded pieces. lol
I am now on Etsy to try and get that pattern! That apron is too sweet!
Yay!!!! You'll have to share if you make it! ❤️❤️❤️
Looked super amazing when finished 😍
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Adorable! Totally suitable when making home made candy. Fairytale feeling :)
I'd love to have the fairytale critters to help me clean and cook! lol
That is a beautiful apron and you did a fabulous job!! I've been on an apron kick lately, too! I've made four - all different styles - a cobbler, cross back straps, Indigo Junction's easy on apron and one that is the style you just made. I lined them all. Aprons are so fun to make. They don't require fitting and most of the time come together so pretty. Thanks for the video. You just inspired me to get back at it.
Yesss...make all the aprons!!! Also a big yes to not stressing over fit! lol
OK ...it is 05/13/2022 & U R CUTE AS A BUTTON! SO is your ginger kittie! TY for this video it was a JOY to watch and PINK IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMALS reflectiveness! TYTYTY
Aw thanks...I will embrace pink as a spirit animal! He's such a helpful kitty. lol ❤️
I loved all of it! I have been having a hard time with a quilt project I am doing, so seeing such a lovely project. It is absolutely beautiful 😍 ❤. I think the changes you made with the construction were genius. So much better than the instructions.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️❤️❤️ I find limiting the amount of time I work on a hard project super helpful. Keep working..it'll be beautiful when its done.
It is so crazy that I ran into your youtube channel today. I was looking for items to make for my shop and I have been thinking of aprons for a while., and yesterday, I decided I would add aprons. I totally enjoyed this video, and will (somehow) make a similar one for the shop. You're literally a God send.
Aprons are a great addition and there are so many great vintage patterns out there.
Loved it! What an awesome looking apron and it goes well with the awesome looking kitchen!!! Thanks for sharing!❤️
I need to find a hook so I can hang it up in the kitchen since it's too pretty for a drawer!
wow that is one of the cutest aprons i saw
It makes me so happy every time I wear it.
Now that’s what my mom would have called a “hostess apron”! Love the turquoise cat cannisters- would like to see another home decor video.
❤️❤️❤️I definitely have some home decor stuff up my sleeve.
I absolutely love love love love the apron it looks really really beautiful on you and pink is my favorite color. I'll be watching all your videos I'm new and I got it from the vintage girl next door I love you both and if you can give me more vintage sewing people to watch I would greatly appreciate it ty so much God bless love your long tail assistant
Yay...I'm so glad you found my channel! ❤️❤️❤️ I would also check out Liz Von Villas, Evelyn Wood, The Closet Historian, Haley Marie Vintage, and Stephanie Canada
I love this SOOO much. I'm so glad you went with the larger eyelet trim, I think it compliments the thicker stripes better that the smaller one. Plus who doesn't love some frilly scallops. :)
We need to start a frilly scallop appreciation society! ❤️
@@JenniferElise For sure!!!
You are so funny. Love the apron.
I'm glad you enjoyed the sewing vlog! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I have this pattern in the Simplicity archives 2592 pattern! I made it as a ruffle skirt with the bottom ruffle out of organza so that it looks like it has a petticoat.
Yours looks super cute and now it's on my list to make!
Oh that's a super cute idea!!!! I may have to do that! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the apron - fantastic! I really enjoy your videos, great stuff, from North Yorkshire coast. Thank you X x x
Divoonly beautiful
Thank you darling! ❤️
Omg 😱 I LOVE this apron! Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see what you do next 😊
Yay! I'm so glad you liked it! ❤️

Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Gorgeous... 💞... I love it! 💞
Thanks doll! ❤️❤️❤️
Thought I’d check out your video since I was given a bunch of 1950’s apron patterns.
Aahhhh so cute!
❤️❤️❤️
Adorable!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
If you think about the level of a stove, or counter to most people it only makes sense to include a bib!
It's so good! I love this one and it's such a perfect Jennifer project.
Awww...thanks doll! ❤️❤️❤️
Too cute on you✨✨👏
Awwww...thanks! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Oh, i really like it! And i love the way you showed us how you whittle down your choices to the material you decide to use, as well as the trims. It looks very 1950s! PS: I love your hair!
I always love the planning process so I'm glad you liked it too. ❤️❤️❤️
Wow this came out so incredibly cute! I love it so much 😍😍😍
Aw thanks doll! ❤️❤️❤️
Love it, super adorable now I kinda want one 😍 lol
I think you need one as well. ❤️❤️❤️
Love this! What a wonderful job you did. So cute💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Your cat is great!!!!
He is isn't he. ❤️❤️❤️
This turned out so cute!!
Thanks! I'm so thrilled with it. I need to find a place to hang it in the kitchen...it's too good for a drawer. lol
@@JenniferElise definitely! I bought one of those Joann raw wooden coat hook or hat hook or what ever it's called and painted it to match my kitchen. You could do something like that, ooooo crafty!
Damn you're GOOD! I adore this so much!
That is a high compliment indeed...thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
First time viewer. such fun! I subscribed.
I love it Jennifer and I love your kitchen
Thanks so much! 😊❤️
GOOD KITTY!
He is indeed! ❤️❤️❤️
I love it, you go girl.
Watching this makes me want to break out my Buttons And Bows apron pattern.
Yesssss...get that pattern out! ❤️
So I had missed seeing this video when you released it, and I just wound up (kind of) using the reprint of this pattern for my latest apron project. One of my viewers mentioned you had made the original, and now that I've seen this, watching your video first would have definitely been helpful!
I just watched your making of and it turned out so cuuuute! Love the penguins. It was a bit of a weird pattern but its such a cute apron that it makes it worth it.
Too cute!
Fabulous. Love it.
Loved it. Thank you. You are amazing
Just liked your insta whoo hoo great video and so cute assistant
Thanks for the Insta like! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ He is the cutest!
I want one!!!
It turned out beautiful!!
I'm so tickled with it! ❤️
You should do Sybil Gordon’s hairstyle from Chariots of Fire
I'll have to look that one up! Thanks! ❤️
@@JenniferElise (In sing song voice) Your welcome!
Awesome job thanks for sharing
omg!!!! so cute!!!
❤️❤️❤️
I just found your channel and subscribed. This apron turned out fantastic!
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
So Cute!!!!
Thank you! ❤️
I like the wider islet because the smaller one seems to get lost in the print pattern. If that makes sense.
Like your style...
Adorable ! .. I want one.. and your counter top canisters too ! ... Are the kitties original or decals ?
first time viewer. and new sub....love your glasses....where did you get them? I have to wear nose pieces on my glasses. otherwise the frames breaks me out. your apron is lovely, I am looking for apron with a wide top, if the bib is too narrow I get grease spots along the sides, and still ruin my shirts.
Ummm Yesss just YES 🙌🏼 I LOVED EVERYTHING! I’m watching videos like this because I am making aprons for Christmas gifts! And one question is how do I add inches with out messing up the patter to make it larger. The vintage pattern that I have only go to large 😒.
Aprons are such a perfect xmas gift! ❤️❤️❤️ I transfer the pattern by laying the pattern piece onto paper and tracing along the outside of the pattern and then I use a tracing tool (the one with the spikes) to transfer any pattern markings. Once its transferred onto another paper I can make adjustments. I hope that helps a bit.
Delightful *
❤️❤️❤️
I made a vintage apron a few years back it was a nightmare, I was having some problems as well the one I did was a V shaped with ruffles
Those v shapes can be a challenge to sew...clipping little v's in the seam allowance can help make those pivots.
@@JenniferElise Thanks, I've been thinking of maybe doing that one again because it is pretty, it took me 13 hrs for a waist apron I had to keep ripping out the seems UGH
Yazzzzz
Can we trend apron- wear as a part of our public lives?!
We absolutely should! :D
My paypal is..
LOL! I will eventually do a house tour...it's just slow going with the changes and this summer travel is eating up all my home decor budget. (best worst problem!)
so poooooofy
What is the point of seeing you so in this project if you’re not going to follow the pattern true to its original Instructions to see how authentically it looked
The changes I made didn't change the way the finished product looked it just ensure that there would be no raw seams which gives the apron longevity
