    Nice build, great to see a younger kid getting into building stuff. I was looking at the power sports kit, the rascal $900 with no engine or clutch, yeah it seems a little beefier than this, the foot peg was a steel bar welded to the frame, which could easily be done to this before paint and you just pushed the rubber pegs on, and the brakes were a caliper and disc. But this is certainly all you need to have some fun and it`s around $500, it`s a great deal. Mini bikes were all over the place when I was a kid in the 70`s, $20 got you a decent running mini bike, it was nothing to get a mini bike in front of someones house on garbage night, all it neede was a motor. Great video, nice build Eric.

    Really enjoyed your cool Mini Bike Video! Now I see what my Dad had to quickly do with the Mini bike my Parents got me back around 1969 or '70 (for Christmas or my B-Day - can't remember which). I'm sure my Mini probably came somewhat pre-assembled in a box, but I bet my Dad still had to mess with the wheels, cables, and 34 or 36 cents per gallon of gas. I could swear around frames 8:35 that was the first time I saw any Washers (preferably lock washers)! Happy to see someone doing physical activity instead of flipping the controls on an xBox.

    7:08 Chain stretch. It happens with most every chain driven machine and is a fact of life but with motorcycles, the slack is taken up with the rear wheel, adjusted outward or to the rear.

    "Maybe get a friend or something" ... Clamps and weights are your friends! ;-) Another idea for "next time": you could put the frame on its side, stack the bushing+wheel+bushing sandwich then pound the axle in from the top.

    Basically I think you're basically going to be having a lot of basic fun! Might want to put some lock tight on all four of those front and rear axle bolts! I built a similar one many many moons ago and one of the bolts backed off due to vibration (and me not checking them before each and every ride) the axle came off and well...... Let's just say I'm lucky but I still have scars!

      How do u turn a mini bike off if u dont have one??

    • @Hjerte_Verke
      @Hjerte_Verke Рік тому

      @@calebzapata9879 Lots of engines have a kill switch but it is on the engine block (he uses the switch at 11:44) and hard to reach while the minibike speeds out of control. You would have to take your eyes off the road and look down to find it and if your hand slips, you're touching a very hot engine! Some older Briggs and Tecumseh engines have a kill switch on top of the engine that you press against the spark plug to stop the engine, it is just a metal tab. A cheap kill switch is tying a string or zip tie to the spark plug wire so you can pull the string to pull the plug wire off the tip of the plug and stop the spark. Don't touch the spark plug wire while the engine is running or you will get a nice shock.
