Behind the Cache ikr?! I pick up containers, of all sorts, wherever I happen to be- “that’s a cool branch/tin/toy insect... etc”!!!! And so many adhesives, tools, etc but that old table saw thing of yours- now THAT is the bomb 💣!!!!!
Behind the Cache yes I saw you talking about it on one video. Unfortunately not in our budget- hub is not the least bit handy, I’m the artist/crafter/diy/home repair half of couple.
Thanks for sharing. I'd put them all in the category of 'creative' caches. On one, you are providing the tott (magnet slide) to extract so that would be the closest of the three to even be considered 'gadget'. But using a tott to extract it doesn't necessarily make it a gadget cache. As for the other two, you are using a different type of container (more creative than a pill bottle under a pile of rocks). For the magnet one, I've seen others where they have attached a cord of some sort to keep the top cap (tott) from disappearing. I think that's something that you should consider mentioning or doing when making a video where you are providing the tott since not everyone carries a strong magnet. Thanks Derek for the motivation to make different style caches.
I call mine I.C. for Interactive Cache. Doesn't matter if it uses a magnet to retrieve the container or solving any type of field puzzle, even Arduino based. Nice video and some fun caches!
I’m just finally making number three from this video and bought my supplies yesterday, but my 3/4 pvc ball valve is only big enough for a nickel to fit in there. But it’s clearly labeled 3/4 inch. Very confusing. Going bake to Loews tomorrow.
What do you put in the description of these that allow the finder to figure out what to do? Because some of these seem impossible to figure out without some kind of guidance.
For the vertical pipe how do you go about attaching it so that it does not hinder with the travel of the external magnet up the pipe? I was thinking zip tie it to some adjacent pipes but I thought that would probably break the bond and drop the tube
@@BehindtheCache They are strong enough to get the job done but I guess I'll have to do a test run to see if it can pull over zip ties. I used the rectangular ceramic magnets from Lowe's. Very similar to the one you used in the demo
Great vid/ ty fir making- gave me two new ideas- number 1and 3/ tho I’m not fond if using nanos, and idk if I like having to remove the pipe on 3 to get the nano out. - I call mine Gadget caches in description, and I’m getting lots of cachers going first them fir just that reason, as we don’t have many gadget ones here, and I’m getting fave pts on most every find on the - pinball one, and the plinko one. I’m now, all at one time lol, working on- the magnet- waiting on my rare earth magnets 🧲 to arrive via amazon - I’m going to do it horizontally and have scouted the fence- it’s painted silver / now some people use one magnet on the cap, but just put a nut/ on end of bison - not sure which is best.... I have the weighted/string pull one u featured almost done- that’s also silver and going on a fence (don’t forget to spray paint your zip ties the color to match!!) - I have the basic add water one ready to go- that’s painted green/camo to go in woods- has a lot of holes so it’s kind of evil.!! - I have a “fishing line” retrieval one- not sure if it will be a hook., or a magnet on end of “rod.” To pull up the preform.. and lastly I have a two inch width, shorter pvc pinball type going straight up rather than an angle like other one... so, they’re all in progress/ I can’t seem to focus on one thing at a time. I’m always full of ideas.! Then I have half a dozen evil “log/branch “ ones in progress!!! I will post photos on fb groups when done.!!!
Please be more accurate with the size PVC you say are needed for these PVC caches. Cache #1 and Cache #3 you said use 3/4 inch PVC.... but you held 1 inch PVC throughout the #1 cache build sequence. CONFUSING!

I too put them all in the category of 'creative' caches... Thanks for sharing... (mr magic)
Thanks for you input.
Creative cache for sure.
snap pvc is my favorite. Great job. Subscribed
I really love how simple these are!!!!
Mind if I use one of theese for a how to make 10 favourite point magnet geocaches video?
No that is why I make my videos. To share knowledge and help the game to be better.
Ok I liked before watching/ obviously very excited to watch lol.! Have pipes and supplies ready to go!!!
That is awesome. Yeah I may have a few supplies too. Lol.

@@katkaplan3 Yeah I inherited that. You can still buy them new but they are like $4K. I love it.
Behind the Cache yes I saw you talking about it on one video. Unfortunately not in our budget- hub is not the least bit handy, I’m the artist/crafter/diy/home repair half of couple.
I consider them caches that I'm capable of making. 🤩
That is awesome glad you might have found some new cache ideas.

Thanks for watching and the input. Yes I would love to see more caches that are unique and like you said not a pill bottle under some rocks.
A "Minor Gadget" cache because you need to manipulate the container to get the log out.
Nicely done! Those are great!
Thanks. Many people over think it and they don’t need to.

That is a great name. I love that. Thank you.
I'll definitely have to try one of these at some point :)
Super easy to make. Hard part is finding where to put them. At least that is hat I have found.

Great ideas

Cool ideas, all! For the second one, how strong do you think the magnet would need be to place the pipe vertically? What should I be looking for?
Look for a rare earth magnet.
For the vertical pipe how do you go about attaching it so that it does not hinder with the travel of the external magnet up the pipe? I was thinking zip tie it to some adjacent pipes but I thought that would probably break the bond and drop the tube
It depends on the strength of the magnet.

@@rayallen5971 yeah testing is a great idea. I got some rare earth magnets from Amazon that work much better and are almost too strong maybe.
Where do you get the strong magnet.
Usually from Amazon
Thank you
Creative caches, for sure. Those would be good for mystery caches I think if you wanted them to be considered a gadget cache...
Thank you. Which one was your favorite?
@@BehindtheCache I like you magnet tube one. I still have yet to find one out where I live.
creative gadget caches ;)
Well yes that is one way. Lol.
Behind the Cache I’ve been describing mine as “gadget caches” on my two pvc that are live- all my hides are creative homemade...
I love that. I have heard the debate before so I like both.
great video!
Explore With Lily thank you.
Going to keep an eye out for a place to hide that first one. It's a simple but great idea. Probably call them creative caches.
Yeah I think that is what I would call it too.

That is awesome. Maybe sometime I could have you on and you can talk about how you didn’t have gadgets in the area and you started putting them out.
Behind the Cache sure, I think I could handle that, without being too awkward... Put some makeup on lol!!
Ok sounds good PM me on Facebook or Insta
Behind the Cache yes I will message you later today!
Creative cache
Thank you
Gadjet!!!!

Sorry to that was confusing. I will do better
@@BehindtheCache Thank You!!! Cache On!!!
I love geocaching and love your video. I made a video about geocaching too, check it out.
