I'm still not sure of what I just watched. The sarcasm is so deep, I'm not sure what the actual point was.
It seemed like it was supposed to be a satirical "roast" of Marangella, that actually displayed how good his work is,... but then the sound wasn't very good.
The playing was solid, so I'm not sure if the bad sound was unintentional or part of the gag. It's rare for something like this to go over my head, but here I am.

I bought a Suhr Classic Antique the day after I saw Dani (with Marbin) in NYC. Their ML pickups sounded better than any vintage Strats I’ve played. However, I couldn’t deal with their flat radius fretboard… felt like I was playing an Ibanez when I wanted a strat 😅
that headstock is ala old Kramer pacer, it seems to me like copy paste. But other brands use that shape as well, far as i know Kramer was the 1st back in early 80's.

Mason is a long term, well known scammer. How he is able to sell anything is a testament to his only real skill, marketing. Supporting this person, after everything known about this scammer, says a lot about character.
Have you checked out some of his solo arrangements of John Mayers songs? Mason is the voice of a generation.

That is where the people who support him live apparently. So many great pedal builders, amp builders, and true industry, experts how this guy continuously scams everyone is beyond me. His skill is marketing himself.
@@marbinmusicI don’t understand how people can continue to absolutely shit on this man making a string of bad decisions almost a decade ago. He has put out an insane amount of great content for DIY’ers like myself and has some of the best interviews of the biggest session guitarists I’ve seen. He made a mistake, owned up to it (albeit after doubling down originally), remediated, and refunded anyone who wanted one, and paid the price for his dishonesty. He’s shown far more than just repentance, and thats enough for me.
So the Google searches didn't turn up the scams he's perpetrated. Try again.
I tried looking for his thesis endlessly. If you can find it send it my way and I’ll take down the video.
Jem Music - He sold a product that he said he made in-house, when really he was just modifying an existing product and reselling it. He still delivered a the product he advertised, however the backstory was a lie - I think he fully admitted that. Big time pros loved it and even Pete Thorn on one of his live streams recently said it was one of the best wahs he ever played. This doesn't excuse the lie about the product, but I think "The Desperate House Husbands of The Gear Page" often collapse the Wah story with the classic problem where boutique brands takes someone's money in a deposit and deliver nothing in return (or delivers a piece of crap product) and when caught leaves the industry with everyone's money, never to be seen again. Mason admitted that he'd done wrong. He fixed it. He gave everyone their money back. I can't think of another example where someone in this situation took their comeuppance on the chin as saw a bad situation all the way through. Nevertheless, having done what he did opened the door for anyone to question anything and everything he's ever done or will do so you get guys like you who perpetuate the "serial scammer" narrative when it's more selective outrage than impropriety outside of the wah thing. Guys like you should take the "W" on this one. You caught a guy that was doing wrong, and as a result he chose to do the right thing (which almost never happens). The customer wins because they were made whole again. The industry wins because a bad actor was reprimanded. But, beyond that, I think as a reaction to a lot of the bad PR, the music community wins because Mason's been putting out great educational content for several years and is pretty popular on UA-cam among pedal brands and faces of companies that have UA-cam channels. Also, people can now choose whether they want to support Vertex/Mason or not based on his past. The wah story is pretty ubiquitous, so anyone can read about him and decide for themselves if they want to support or not. But, simply reducing him to "scammer" is low hanging fruit and doesn't tell the actual story outside of the first few days of the wah revelation. "Scam" is just the shortest path to disapproval when we're too lazy to be reflective or take the time to understand nuance.

In some countries he wouldn't be permuted to use that name and to be honest some other brands as well. They would have to state clear that aren't doctors of scince at all.
I'm kinda sure that is not allowed in the US as well, but simply nobody cared to ask American association about it. Simply some people think that he is have university degree and thesis for sure thx to a comments saw, also to someone who don't dive deep into pedal industry it also sound that dude is maybe some sort of doctor. For now i only saw that is a Doctor of lies and thievery and he for sure have a thesis on mega BS.
@Jem Music some people like to suport scammers, some shops to due to a geer selling became a mess in last 10-15 years. There are a lot of honest people working but there are an amazing drama queens, hypers, fakers who know to solder and to ripp of the hard work of other people from DIY forums and then they sell it as their own ''designs''. After all by making a difrent traces on a PCB is enough for them to get away, but people who make pedals recognizes them. Vertex is one of those copy paste $ hunters who use all sort of BS but he ain't the only one, there are a few others as well.
Anyhow this is the only one i knew that use ''doctor'' in his name, What a ... but the same goes for people who gets his ''work'', since obviously there is a need for liars in this society.
in the end people wonder ''OMD why el guitar ain't poplar as it was'' well due to fakers sell pedals expansive and others stuff to so it turned out into a snobbery race were people watch into boards instead to listen . That is why dude like Dr mega BS exits......

@@grantdavid9466 it's a ''special'' juice mate i use, made only for me ☺. Just joking, nothing unique, i use what others use but that has nothing to do with honest opinion that I've shared here about this scammers called ''doctors for guitar rigs'' etc. To be honest this ''Doc'' had only a bad luck to be caught in his rebranding, and that's what many companies do. Only the public doesn't find out about scammers in a pedal industry. I call it lying and fraud, but my acquaintance says that it is not a fraud, but that they are "forced to do so".
Everything is made over in Asia, PCB, boxes, components and then they sell it all as "made in...". Plus each pedal is based on existing pedals, it's such small changes from original designs that anyone can make that after 2 days of learning about electronics. Change the values of the capacitor, add a few more potentiometers and then say "I designed the pedal". That is the truth about that industry.
In order for people to see how bad things are, sometime people need to be surrounded by pedal scammers to the maximum, so that's why I say that the world needs more "doctors" like this who have destroyed guitar music in the last 20 years. So it's not just Him.
@@grantdavid9466 BTW what you use? Roids, or you are as they say natural? I was going in gym for some time, and some close friends were heavy on riods, one became a so so well known pro body builder but He was never significantly higher placed in a Mr Olympia.
I didn't use them, but i did had a chance. Only reason why i stayed of ''Deca'' ( decaduraboline), and any other hormonal anabolic is fact that i would like it to much ☺, and would go for the top , and who knows how that would end up. All things i did in my life were like that, traying to be the best. Soooo i didn't had guts to go for it.
Now when i'm older when times come i'll take ''testo'' if my testosterone ever goes under normal level. Nowadays that is normal, to have so called ''hormonal substrate therapy''
@@grantdavid9466 Just to add, according that picture you have- you have a good shoulders and it seems like OK pecs. Arms are so so, OK but a bit larger forearms would be better. Of course i assume you go for symmetry, that is the goal? My weak spot are the calves on my legs, while the back, chest, and shoulders as well as the upper arms are OK, the forearms not so much, on the the hands my thighs have always been strong, but my calves are really bad. I tried to fix it, but without any huge success.
When I tried doing more repetitions above 30 per set for the calves, and taking a break of at least 3 days, it gave me solid results. It's better than it usually writes according to the programs.
I found a study where they say that the muscles in the calves and shoulders "develop" differently, that often a higher number of repetitions gives better results.
