beautiful work from Enrico here, bringing forth the exquisite chord forms AH was kind enough to share with us, even in this informal demonstration mode .... the sequence from 2:25 to 2:31 is rich and evocative ... thank you, Sir
many thanks i was actually improvise some random chords , i guess listening to Allan for so many years made some part of the brain trying to remember him
Actually, he uses his bridge humbucker exclusively for all clean sounds. What your hearing is the top end sound of his Carvin humbucker pick ups: it sounds single -coily on the top end. He NEVER used a single coil pick up for lead or clean.
sure we all know thtis. but you may be surprised on how many things he did which are a secret during the recordings. anyway the eq surely helps the sound to be very similar to a single coil. pick up was very far from the strings, 250 k volume pot instead 500 makes the sound darker and he used it not at 10 with a .001 rs which make the sound brighter when turned down…my video are more about how to try to achieve a similar sound with what we have available and a single coil sound is going to get a very similar sound with any guitar and amp/di
Wow,,love the sound your getting from that Guitar..Sounds very rich with that Reverb....Thanks for sharing this. i certainly enjoyed watching your video.
Your sound seems not just a perfect imitation but a kind of the first step Allan could make)). And could you do a lessson on all these chords? It all sounds really authentic altogether. Thanks a lot!
thank you for your comment! The chords are from Above & Below (The 16 men of tain record). You can find them here and there in youtube. you can also see a lot of live versions from Allan himself and find out the chords watching him , one by one like I did, so you will interiorise them better good luck and have fun
@@italianguitarEnrico, thanks a lot for your advice! I once tried to learn 0274 by ear and my brain almost broke)). This album is my favourite and it's wonderful that you chose the chords for demonstratin from it. Thank you once again! Subscribed at your channel - you are my discovery)).
You can see live on stage (videos), AH was using two Fender Twins miked up for clean. Definitely bridge pickup. And the the infamous UD (Magic) Stomp for delays / reverbs (maybe no reverb just the multi-tap delays). Check out Jon Cordy's Holdsworth video on the UD Stomp and multi-tap delays...It's very very good. What you are doing here sounds great, many ways to arrive at the same destination....
Incredible tone Enrico ....!!! but if you have to do a lice gig... how you will get these type of great tones..?? can you please make a video with Helix or something... that how you will make a tone both Lead and CLean???
cheers mate! on pedalboards i just don't have any speakers simulation so that the amp go straight to the PA. rest is the same clean amp head ( i use a Jazz Chorus head simulation on my headrush) parametric eq chorus delay and reverb the same way i use here
in Headrush Prime I cloned my mesa boogie Rectoverb head with my 2x12 celestion Greenback speakers cabinet using a Sure SM57 microphone. distorted channel and TC parametric eq before the amp. then stereo delay around 350-400ms and plate reverb
I think Alan used just the bridge pickup for clean but yours seems like bridge and middle sound. And I'm pretty sure Alan wouldn't just play clean into a mixer w/o using amps on stage. Here is a vid where you can clearly see he's using one bridge pickup and TWO Carvin amps to get a stereo clean sound on stage.
@@italianguitar Oh, well, for recording yeah, maybe he did go straight to the mixer but I know live he probably didn't because you don't want a mix person controlling your sound. That's why he's doing all the presets from stage between songs because he needs to hear it on stage like he wants to hear it. Nice playing, by the way!!
More videos like this please, great job!
thanks I will try!
Amazing!
I have no other words for this.
Glad you like it!

great insight ,,,,, thanks for sharing,,,,, dont stop
I won’t stop playing for sure even if I became a tennis coach recently as making money with music only is almost impossible these days….

yes i know his video. I m referring mostly to studio albums stuff.. live it was very different
Lovely sounds and playing! Great explanation.
txs a lot
Thank you very much for this!!!
You're very welcome!
Gorgeous tone! Thanks for uploading
I will try this set up. Thank you so much for sharing.🎸
Have fun!
very beautiful tone
Thanks a lot!
Allan used a combination of the guitar pickup together with the Roland VG synth. That's where that bright sound comes from.
He told me different from it but of course he used the roland in the 90'
@@italianguitar , Ok, then maybe i am wrong.
maybe not mate, sure he did experiment a lot but definitely the first records are similar to what i said as the roland came out later 😊
Sounds Lovely - great chords too
Glad you like it! Thank you 🙏
