The transporter wisely removed Juliana's high heels for geology work.
Lol, they probably filmed on different days and didn't keep the costume consistent. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an instance where an extra beamed down wearing the wrong colored or era uniform.
I never realized how thoughtful the transporter was.
@@Sara-bear-a i mean it's been established that it is simmilar to a replicator reconfiguring a pattern or equiping gear in transport isn't a streach
@@WardNightstone Well, they usually dress appropriately for a given away mission… but I like the idea of their clothes vanishing and replaced on transporter pad.
@@Barbutt sooo... There could be a case where either by choice of the computer of as a prank someone could send down Riker, Picard and Worf in drag? 🤣
genius move data. And I thought he would carry her in his arms to soften the fall. But instead he somewhat pushes her down and she falls like a rock
Data's step-Dad has to walk to sickbay, no beaming for him
Data: As the humans used to say...."fuck you, step dad"
I wonder why, in-universe, Data doesn't pick her up and then jump.
He figured out she was an android by this point. There was no reason.
@@jeffreymeehan3116 Maybe part of him wanted to prove she was an android, too. Who knows, if androids can dream, if they don't have something like subconscious, too, that tells them what they want before they know it sometimes?
Ok 'fess up...who laughed out loud when her body was shown on the ground like Data forgot to hold her on the way down ?? 😂😂😂
@@jeffreymeehan3116 He strongly suspected.
I wondered that, too. Saw some of the other comments though. I'll have to actually watch this episode to understand - I've only seen clips.
Personal note: Never take Data's advice concerning jumping from high structures. That android can't judge distances worth a damn...
Don't jump, 100% chance of death. Do jump, not 100% chance of death. Data telling her to jump makes sense even if it did 'kill' her. Now why data did not use himself to protect even slightly from impact, I can't say other then writers needed a major injury.
In real life, she embracing tight from behind with him jumping would cushioned her fall maybe...
But storywise, plot device needed ...
So, instead of embracing her to maximise support, he basically throws her to her death
You mean test his hypothesis in a clear manner.
Data know her ID all alone.
Why didnt the transporter instantly recognize her as an android?
Someone joked earlier that O'Brien is part of Section 31, but this is adding Geordi to that list. There's no way his panel didn't scream alerts when she beamed.
Soong intentionally designed her with feedback processors to give false bio-readings. Of course, given that the transporter had to pattern her back into matter, that includes her internal android components, so that's a bit of fridge logic. But that fridge logic comes up whenever they transport anything. How could they transport "Kevin" from The Survivors? He wasn't human, he was an immortal energy being, but he "scanned" as human, and the transporter showed him human.
@@StormsparkPegasus Wouldn't it be fun if an alien pretending to be human used the transporter, and the transporter rebuilt the alien as a human since that's what it was expecting.
Imagine if some unfortunate Founders got caught up in this scenario. They'd go crazy :P
@@Axius27 Yeah...it makes you wonder if the transporters have actual records of anything, because the level of scans they have to do should be able to identify anything that's transported.
The transporter is a very simple operation. It only reads a pattern and sends it. The only time it sends a "red Flag" is when there is something dangerous in transit
you know, I would assume intelligence was learnt, but seeing that people actually believe this drama show to be real, and have thought of any angle, sounds funny to me.
..... "Toss me."
Don't tell the elf
I did not know Juliana was an android until I saw her there with her arm removed
its not revealed in the episode until that point.
@@katelights I know but some people might have suspected her being an android based on the inconsistencies in her story!?
This is the moment Data realized how fragile humans are
This is all Geordi's fault.
Juliana: "How will we get down there?"
Data: "I believe we can safely traverse the distance."
Have a nice trip?.
It was great, until last fall. 😆
Yeah, why didin't he carry her before jumping?!
He's totally strong enough!
The only thing missing in this scene is the flux capacitor.
I mean, why is anyone surprised that she is a robot? Data's a robot, and she's Data's mom, duh.
Oooh... I just noticed a continuity error. Pay attention to Juliana's shoes. Before beaming down she wore shoes with heels, but on the surface she suddenly wore flats oO
The transported knew they were beaming to rugged terrain so it gave her appropriate shoes. 24th century. 😂
Sorry chum, beat ya by 2 hours on this. 😋
@@TheBlackIdentety Exactly what I said
Was Paul W.S. Anderson the guest director for that segment?
i thought he would have hugged her for the jump and then softend the impact with his legs. i remember from like back then when this tng episode was new, this lady could play violine with such high precision, data thought she must be an android. maybe he wanted to prove that with throwing her off that edge ? she is an android, apparent by that broken of android arm, why couldnt she then catch that impact like data could too ? maybe she did not now she is an android to adsorb that impact energy like dara could ? i dont remember all details of that tng episode, must be like 25 years ago i watched it. by the way, 2000 doesnt appear like to far in the past but 20 years is a loong time, where did all those years go and how fast 😟
Now have amplifiers
Why would anyone think they could jump down from so high up with a little, middle-aged woman like that?????
You would have to watch the full episode. Data already knew she was an android by this part of the episode. He knew she wouldn't die.
@@OldieWan Yeah, but the Juliana android was designed to age like a human in order to make it believe it was a human, so it makes sense that in order to maintain the illusion, she wouldn't have had super strength and resiliency like Data did, also!!!!! Does make me wonder what would've happened if she got cut, though!!! Data claimed that he would bleed during a drunken moment in "the naked now", but could that claim really be taken seriously???? Especially with how we never saw him bleed!!
En este evento, Data descubre que Juliana es un gynoide(un robot con apariencia de mujer).
In this event, Data discovers that Juliana is a gynoid (a robot with the appearance of a woman).
WTF! Data
what? he knew she would not die at this point he already knew she was a android
Spoiler Alert ! All's well, that ends well.
Episode inheritance I shouldn't be watching it it's going to be triggering.😢
You will make it. But not in one piece. :)
Couldn't they wear hats? All that crud in their hair.
Dr crusher is a lovely woman, sexy neck gorgeous hair 😉
