Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoy this video.

I wanted to mention that this week I took part in a video on a major channel operated by one of my friends, based right here in Toronto, Dating Without Borders. The video is about stereotypes and part of it is about people mixing up Arabs and Persians. I figured since this video involves Arabic, and since part of my it would be worth sharing. Here is the link, check it out: ua-cam.com/video/O33iZhG74xs/v-deo.html
The reason there are no subtitles for this video is because the new program I am using to edit videos for some reason messes up the script when I write the Begali words. It's minor and most people would not notice it, but some of the letters don't come out right. It might not be noticeable to some, but I would much rather avoid having it on the screen incorrectly. I tried a few different ways of fixing it, but it still comes out wrong in certain cases. So here are all the words from the video:
Pen - কলম (kolom) / قلم (qalam)
    Date - তারিখ (tarikh) / تاريخ (tarikh)
    Meaning - মানে (maney) / معنى (ma’nee)
    Calculation - হিসাব (heeshaab) / حساب (hisab)
News - খবর (kobor) / خبر (khabar)
    Empty - খালি (khaali) / خالي (khaali)
    Answer - জবাব (jobab) / جواب (jawab)
    Remainder - বাকি (baaki) / باقي (baaqi)
Other words and statements that came up:
Today's Date: تاريخ اليوم (tarikh alyawm)
Hammer - In Iraqi Arabic: چاکوچ (chakooch)
If there is anything else you would like to have clarified, just comment below!

Pre-partitioned India had Muslim invaders and rulers of Turkic and Arab origin going back to 708 CE. Farsi was the court language of Moghuls who came in the 16th century. As a result of this, Indian languages have Turkish, Arabic and Farsi words, Similarly, since India had a cultural influence in South East Asia from Thailand to Japan in ancient times and up to 900 CE, you find a lot of Sanskrit words in the languages of these countries. So the so-called similar words are actually adopted words from the others because of conquest, cultural influence or migration. The Bengali guys keep referring to some words like 'Dost' as Hindi but it is actually an Urdu/Hindustani word. Bangladesh being a Muslim majority country Bengali language there has more Urdu words than in Bengali spoken in Indian West Bengal state with Hindu majority. It is good to have no language scholars as participants because they are likely to show off their knowledge. One of India's greatest poet Mirza Ghalib of 19th century used to write in Farsi alone but the common man did not understand his poetry, so he started writing in Urdu as well. He said, "what is the point in writing the most beautiful lines if they can not be understood by anyone?" Sorry for the long message but I hope it is useful.

Bengalis are one of the biggest ethnic groups in the world with a lot of history. There has been 4,000-year-old Chalcolithic civilization discovered in the greater Bengal region, and believe the finds are one of the earliest signs of settlement in the region. However, evidence of much older Palaeolithic human habitations were found in the form of a stone implement and a hand axe in Rangamati and Feni districts of Bangladesh. The origin of the word Bangla ~ Bengal is unknown, though it is believed to be derived from a tribe called Bang that settled in the area around the year 1000 BCE. Kingdoms of Pundra and Vanga were formed in Bengal and were first described in the Atharvaveda around 1000 BCE as well as in Hindu epic Mahabharata. Anga and later Magadha expanded to include most of the Bihar and Bengal regions. It was one of the four main kingdoms of India at the time of Buddha and was one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas. Under the Maurya Empire founded by Chandragupta Maurya, Magadha extended over nearly all of South Asia, including parts of Balochistan and Afghanistan, reaching its greatest extent under the Buddhist emperor Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century BCE. One of the earliest foreign references to Bengal is the mention of a land ruled by the king Xandrammes named Gangaridai by the Greeks around 100 BCE. The word is speculated to have come from Gangahrd ('Land with the Ganges in its heart') in reference to an area in Bengal. Later from the 3rd to the 6th centuries CE, the kingdom of Magadha served as the seat of the Gupta Empire

One of the first recorded independent kings of Bengal was Shashanka, reigning around the early 7th century. After a period of anarchy, Gopala came to power in 750. He founded the Bengali Buddhist Pala Empire which ruled the region for four hundred years, and expanded across much of Southern Asia: from Assam in the northeast, to Kabul in the west, and to Andhra Pradesh in the south. Atisha was a renowned Bengali Buddhist teacher who was instrumental in the revival of Buddhism in Tibet and also held the position of Abbot at the Vikramshila university. Tilopa was also from the Bengal region. The Pala Empire enjoyed relations with the Srivijaya Empire, the Tibetan Empire, and the Arab Abbasid Caliphate. Islam first appeared in Bengal during Pala rule, as a result of increased trade between Bengal and the Middle East. The Pala dynasty was later followed by a shorter reign of the Hindu Sena Empire. Islam was introduced to Bengal in the 12th century by Sufi missionaries. Subsequent Muslim conquests helped spread Islam throughout the region. Bakhtiar Khalji, a Turkic general of the Slave dynasty of Delhi Sultanate, defeated Lakshman Sen of the Sena dynasty and conquered large parts of Bengal. Consequently, the region was ruled by dynasties of sultans and feudal lords under the Bengal Sultanate for the next few hundred years. Islam was introduced to the Sylhet region by the Muslim saint Shah Jalal in the early 14th century.

Court related and many other formal and administrative words taken from Farsi or some Arabic came through Farsi too.
Remember the mughal empire had Farsi as official language. So the provincial formal administrative languages were heavily influenced by Farsi as well. Bengal Bihar and many such provinces have taken words directly from Farsi and the Delhi based empire. Hence so many loan words from Farsi and some Arabic through Farsi. After the Arabic attack n massacre in Iran even Farsi and Arabic influenced each other a lot. Modern Farsi has taken much from Arabic.

Further, there is a deep relationship between Sanskrit. The Sanskrit used in the rig veda(oldest of the four Vedas) is very much in resemblance to Avesta(Zoroastrian holy book).

@@tashmeem but still there r many Persian words in Indian languages specially hindi-urdu,punjabi that cognates with sanskrit/prakrit like *Meherbaan* cognates with *Mihirvaan* , *Hafta* cognates with *sapta* , *mehr* cog. with *Mihir* ,Safed->White(earlier form *Saped* ) that comes from Middle Persian *Spyt* nd ultimately comes from *Proto-Iranian* word *Cwaytah* which cognates with _Sanskrit_ word *Sweta* (white), *Dusman* from *dusmanah* cog. with *Dustmanas* (though d meaning changes a bit), *Maza* cognates with *Maha* ,Khuda that comes from old Persian *Xvada* (Self defined/autocrat) almost cognates with sanskrit *Svadha* (Self Power), khwab/xvab comes from avestan word *Xvafna* cognates with *Swapna* , *Namaz* cognates with *Namas* (which becomes namaskar, namaste) meaning to bow down , *Zaban* cog. with *Jivha* nd similarly many words unknowingly which r iranian origin cognates with sanskrit. Persian *Madar-e-Zaban* -> Sanskrit *Matarijivha/Mataribhasha* . Even correct iranian word for women is *Stri/Nairi* not aurat nd for man it is *Nar* not mard/insaan(Arabic origin). The reason is *Sanskrit* nd *Old Persian/Avestan* developed from common *Proto-Indo-Iranian* root. Nd if u listen d old Persian/Avestan language on UA-cam or any hymns by zoroastrian priests it striking similar with sanskrit except some pronounciation, few words, phonetics differ.
