That place around 8:27 where you were asking that guy for direction towards PB or Khyndai Lad is called Motphran which literally translates to Stones of France. Right in the middle of that place, there is a monument (Circle) dedicated to the porters of the 26th Khasi Labour Corps who had carried arms, ammunition and other essential items for the British soldiers during the First World War in France.

It is sad to see lots of poor people in India. The reality is India is not of poor country. In Mumbai, I was shocked to see ordinary flats for sale that are more expensive than a house in the US. And Mumbai is a big city. One of the richest people, the Ambanis, owns his 1 billion dollar house. But I don't understand why he would want to have a view of the largest slum from his balcony? I would feel bad looking at all those poor people and I am living in opulent and excessive wealth. Maybe it is the Catholic in me, to always feel guilty. lol

Almost 84 crore people use the free ration scheme during covid. It means more than 50% people can't afford food on their own. And if you earn 17 lakhs per year then you are in top 1% of richest people in India.

No worries Frenchy!..from what I have seen you in your videos you live your life like it is Church everyday. Jesus said, 'the greatest commandment is to love your God and to love your neighbor as yourself.' I always loved Victor Hugo's 'Les Miserables', as it had some great lessons for us all.
And I believe you got that message! A lot of people go to church every day and still do not get the message. As soon as they leave church they will start gossiping and passing false aspersions on others.
Politicians all over the world 'use' religion to divide people and gain power and that pisses me off!
I would love to visit the Notre Dame and the Sacré-Coeur as they are so famous. I imagine your mom must have been very upset to see the fire in the Notre Dame? It is a good thing it still stands today. The Sagrada Família in Spain, is on my bucket list, only because I hated it so much but now have really begun to like it after seeing pictures of it in a different light. You speak English so well, I wish I could speak French. I had a very hard time learning beginning French in school. It sounds so beautiful and sophisticated. The quaint old village towns of Southern France are just so beautiful. I hope they always stay that way. I hope I get to visit France one day. So glad you are going home to be with family for Christmas as one day your parents may not be around. Enjoy as much time with them. Stay safe Frenchy!

You can ask your guide to get to know about the inscription at 'Mot Phran'. Our Khasis who went to France during the War in France some were coming back but those who did not comback are many. Shillong is pure heaven and people living there are pure Angels by heart just few of them are demons. Even in our Hindu community their are demonic people who took advantage of the tribal peoples kindness in the first place during 90's.
