I am really glad that you are covering India's hidden paradise NE India. Many vloggers just show Taj Mahal etc routine tourist attractions. You are the rare one who covers hidden gems like Northeast and Ladakh. Watching your videos since Attari border entry. 😊😊
Love how those two local ladies giggling and wanting a picture with you ,its true they hardly see any foreigners but also local people have a big heart and they want foreigners to feel welcome and at home in our humble state😊
In Sohra/Cherrapunji there's also Nongsawlia Church which is probably the oldest church in Northeast India. Welsh missionaries came here in the 1800's and even taught Khasi people how to read and write. The missionaries learned our language and translated some Welsh songs like, "Hen Wlad fy Nhadau" into "Ri Khasi Ri Khasi"
More like coIoniaI, and 1800 that’s it, bro your native history is iconic and oldest tribes, even the west don’t fall for it, do what helps you but remember someone don’t respect you that try to change.

you are right. the red mouth and tongue is because of the chewing of betel leaf and betel nut. They have it with a smear of lime. Khasis call the betel nut 'kwai' and the Assamese 'tamul 'and yes it's psychoactive (makes you feel high and dizzy) in nature
We had gone for a caving experience in Mawmluh Cave with Meghalaya Adventure Association.. it’s one of the most adventurous experiences of our lifetime. 4.7km in 4hr..pheww!! not a single dull moment.. Full of excitement😮
First of all, thank you frenchy for showing India, their lifestyles, foods and cultures that i can't dream of going to every state due to my busy schedules ,also try to have a homestay in a church accommodation and have local experiences when in North East of India.
Welcome to Meghalaya, Frenchy. Locals call the chewable kwai(stressing the kw). Kwai = beetle nut + beetle leaf with added lime (hence the redness of the teeth and lips) Have a good holiday.
