Awesome George! This video hit so close to home. I've spent more hours fishing that beach than any other spot on earth. Those choppy days in the summer are the best! I haven't tried a soft plastic like that, but it was working great! My brother and I used to use live croakers and sand pearch on calm days and throw Yozuri crystal minnows on choppy days. Such good memories. Thanks for this post!
Phytobedo Fishing Damn you a saltwater guy too! Never knew. Croaker's are the shit if you want to use live bait but I like the artificails. Sight casting from the beach is the ultimate way to catch em. I love it. I got a couple more beach vids coming soon as have time to edit. You will definitely appreciate them (hint-beach has been pretty good to me lately)
Another good Snook off the beach video. Awesome George, I really like your videos. I'll be surf fishing for snook for my first time in October. Thank you for your channel.
I'm going to Juno Pier soon. I have pretty light tackle, light rods with 15 pound braided line. I plan to use artificials and maybe some live bait if that doesn't work. I don't do much pier fishing, so I'm not sure if the lures would work if I'm standing so high up on the pier, and if hooked a fish I'm not sure if I'd be able to lift it up onto the pier. Would you recommend going on the pier or fishing from the beach?
The North Florida Angler Thanks C.C! I see you and Charles been wreckng it offshore on the shrimp boats! I still have to watch your Tarpon video! I am so in the UA-cam weeds!!! Fishing has been crazy lately.
Nice way to turn a sour day into fond memories! Great snook work there. I've never fished a soft plastic in that manner. I've always used a weighted hook rigged weedless with the tip slightly in the plastic. Doesn't matter how its rigged as long as it is catching fish. I also noted the MK remote still attached. Heading over to Sanibel for some surf action in between the flats fishing and kids tubing. I may give your alternate rigging style a go..
Wayn Jul Thanks man. It is actually the remote for my Minn kota. Was to lazy to take off. Lol. They don't make the rod mounts anymore. They are like gold now. I have three left and they are kind of broken. Wish I could get more. I love them.
Great videos. I would never have thought to use a jerk shad in that manner. I normally only use them on weighted hooks. Gotta give this a try. I live on the FL Gulf coast and love to catch beach snook. Is this your "go to" tactic for them? Or do you also fish the Stick Shad here?
Great vid, nice snook. Good job. Looks like you got started later in the day. For me it's rare to catch snook on the beach an hour or so after dawn. Maybe because of the overcast?
HOOKEM IN THE MOUTH KAYAK FISHING Damn brother, this is the first time you weren't in spam jail!!! LOL! HOOK EM IN THE MOUTH IS A FREE MAN!!! Thanks Charles! Got to use what works brother. One of these days we got to hook up!
man I keep telling myself to transfer to Florida. I can go to marriana, Tallahassee, Coleman, Miami, or if I got mega lucky Pensacola. Coleman would definitely be the easiest to get to. If I could just line up good hunting places I'd go. I know I'd find plenty of good fishing spots. keep up the good videos
In the summer they spawn in the inlets and they end up on the beach. They are actually very diverse. You can find them all them in the backwaters to all the way out on the offshore wrecks.
Great video! Love summer beach snookin ! Great job on your footage and narrating! I just liked and subscribed to your channel, would appreciate it if you checked out my channel and sub'd back too! Tight lines and fish on!
