Another great video. This is definitely my #1 choice for whitetail out of a 223. Your other cup and core tests show they are obviously capable but I think that with a potential encounter with bone... I'd prefer a bonded bullet in such a marginal caliber. Honestly, I think a lot of those 'Nothing smaller than a 300 Win Mag can take a 80lb whitetail' guys should watch some of these videos. I'm more of a 7mm-08, 270 Win, 6mm Creed, 6.5 Creed, 243 guy but yeah... 223 will definitely get the job done. I'd just caution newer hunters to practice, not rush the shot and try for a close to ideal angle. With any caliber, but esp the more marginal cartridges.
Federal Fusion makes an MSR 62 grain. MSR means Modern Sporting Rifle(16-20" barrels). The powder is a faster burn for more velocity with short barrels.
Awesome video thank you. I have the msr version which is a little hotter in my rifles for property and pasture defense and it’s worked on coyotes. Glad to see some testing at distance.
Hmm. Maybe but you'd have to test it yourself to make sure it doesn't key hole at varying distances. 1:12 was meant for the 40-55gr variety so I think you may be pushing it. One way to find out though

Federal released a bonded 64gr 5.56 version recently. Picked some up last week. It’s much hotter than this .223.

Excellent video.
I've learned this ammo is great defense ammo !
Great video. Lots of great information. Thank you for posting.
Fusion is great ammo.
Good data & demo. Thank you. Home, camp or farm defense. Maybe deer within a reasonable range. Hog hunting I would think. Definitely coyote.
Great video 👍
Nice job thanks!
Won't register my like for some reason.
Would this work in 1/12 twist rifle barrel?
