My dad uses the old Corrupted Ashbringer as transmog on his DK
Its awesome seeing the four horsemen part, since the Corrupted ashbringer dropped from them in Nax40
Alright. The ooze was right there when I got there. Luckily for me, a Horde dude came 10 seconds later, otherwise I would've needed to wait for ages after that haha. And it took me exactly 56 fishing tries to get the shard of darkness. Idk if it has been buffed or that I am just extremely lucky. Thanks for the elaborate guide, Mmrrggll. 4 years after the video, still helpful haha
dude thank you so much for this guide, extremely helpfull. Personally I got the shard after 11 tries at fishing with 1 skill so im pretty sure it has been significantly buffed as I'm normally extremely unlucky. Thanks again

Thanks, easy to follow. I already had the red and golden tint and not the green which showed up as what you are meant to get originally when obtaining the appearance. So, something was off and I fixed it now lol

Wow Thanks for this video. I ended up doing most of this in the past two hours. Bought the two books off the AH for 20k gold. Went to dire maul and BWL with my buddy. Then found a fellow paladin farming who logged onto a RP server and we invited eachother and got the Slime in just 20 minutes. Then I went and learned fishing where I then obtained the crystal in less than 15 CASTS. LESS THAN 15 CASTS!! If that didn't happen I wouldn't have made this comment. Now to my order hall, to pursue the next step. Great video appreciate it.
Update, Corrupted Ashbringer IS MINE!! Can't believe it took me like 2 hours of doing it. While also doing a BG or two in between...

I've been farming the damn slime for 11 and a half hours :( this is the worst quest ever.

Both the slime and fishing part afterward is rather time consuming. Right now the spawn point is just chuck full of paladin doing aoe.

Just got it, took me 30 cast! This totally made up for the shit week I have had
Took me about 45 mins with the Server Hop -addon to find the bloody slime. I really do recommend using that addon, if you're like me who doesn't have much free time due to a job.
As a side note, even though the slime is elite mob, with little preparation you should be able to solo-kill. I only have ilvl of 859 in my retri build, and I was able to take the slime down on my own.
Now for the annoying part...fishing...
It required 2287 casts for me to get the damn shard.
One thing is for certain, I'll not fish anything anytime soon.. =)
All those expensive fish though lol. We were almost the same amt. of casts.

Love the "fury buff" whisper @ 2:30. Fury got a buff recently and instead of going up in rankings, it dropped to dead last. That's how good the buff was.

Wow I got super lucky. As I was getting ready for the long haul, I was preparing to watch a movie while fishing, got the Shard of Darkness after only 66 casts!
No complaints I guess. That means you could just focus on the movie better :P
When I get back on wow I am going for this I have been off wow for a year from my non laptop frying and haven't gotten a new one....... until now! I just need to wait till the end of the week or so and i am back
I guess I got really lucky today considering the fact that the Slime was there when I went to the spot and about 90 casts from the fishing rod and I had the shard lol
oh what a journey! waited for the slime about 80h over all and missed it 2 times only by one second. fishing.. well 4000 casts but finally got it :)

Ended up sending a ticket thinking something was wrong with my game, than I looked at this video and realized I had to right click

I found the slime at the spot, and it took me ~8min of fishing almost 50 tries until i got the shard
so it a lot of grind like the unholy DK. Good lord tring to get that ultra rare orc zombie to spawn.

I think paladins who had the original Corrupted Ashbringer from Vanilla should be able to keep these 4 as transmog in the next expansion
well I can't get the hidden skin ever cause apparently once u get the pot and disconnect and come back in, timolain will disappear and even if you kill the slime the Timolain's phylactery will not drop anymore
On the slime portion of this quest. Because of CRZ, there's like 50 Paladins all just sitting there. Makes getting a tag on this ooze so much harder. >.

u need to get a corrupted ash bringer transmog outfit. also can we get battle pet segments from da lady? i recently got into them as a way to move money around from ally to horde across different servers fast.
Good transmogs for that would be the ICC DK lookalikes

If there are Alliance and Horde camping the spawn of the Ooz, does the kill count for both factions who attack it or will it only be for the 1st who attacks?

Mmrrggll Gaming yup also wish they came up with a cooking "pet artifact" or something. that would allow you to get more. i know they have the shoulder enchant. i get that i just wish they had done something more for cooking. I hate nomi. i hate the RNG im into cooking i always level it on every toon i have 15 to 20 toons. i level it while i go and drop feast in pvp i dont want for mist. we normally win pvp cos no one does that and beat em in the first push most people fold. its a lot of points in pvp if you win XP wise. anyways. i just want all that old content meat and fish to get use it would allow low level players while leveling to get gold
Blizzard are weird..
First they make the most awesome questline to get the Corrupted Ashbringer, with all the heartwarming nods to the old rumours. Then they go and give THE blade to freakin paladins. As they havnt steamrolled trough the game already PLUS getting the Ashbringer.
This would have been so incredibly much better/fitting/appropriate if the Knights of the Ebon Blade got the Corrupted Ashbringer. It just would.
except that would mean 2 classes will have Ashbringer artifact appearances

Yea, you can switch. just like the other skins. you get an additional bar of skin selection. which you can switch between all the other skins.

Lol no joke. I was originally on Darkspear. Although, the Alliance are like a pile of bricks standing by the river. So I transfered to my very first realm lightninghoof and killed the large slime vile. I kid you not 32 cast and I got the shard of darkness. Woot.

Has this been made easier? Or am I just lucky: i tried it about a year ago and waited for about 10 hours. Now after a wow break i wanted to take a look and the slime was there. Fishing was like 40 throws. So is this luck or easier to obtain? No i am mad because others got a variant of the skin because of a bug xD
got the slime in 5 min waiting with a raid group :) got the shard in 122 casts, luck is within me
just did the shard part of the quest 19,05,2017 got it on 2nd cast!
So once you unlock it, do you get all 4 different colors for the model or how does that work? :)
There's other things you need to do like "wear the skin for 200 world quests, kill 1000 players with the skin, run 100 dungeons with the skin"

Bad news: If you look on the wowhead website, for Runes of the Darkening, there is a screenshot, unknown if legit or not, but it says Frost SK hidden artifact is currently not implemented which I think is bullshit :(
I doubt it, they finally found unholy. I'm guessing we'll see shortly what frost is. They still don't know unholy trigger.

just get the holy one which is easily farmable farm 1k hks with it and then you have the pvp ret hidden appearance (the best one)
