- Today, we're looking at the new goatskin bindings of the Cameo from Cambridge. I've long been anticipating this since I was told about them by Cambridge in September last year. So here we are - let's enjoy some outdoor footage of these beautiful editions!

Love, Love, Love, my green Cameo.
Me too! 😀👍👌
The green one btw is absolutely stunning! Kudo's to Cambridge. Wonderful job!
Yes indeed! Just picked up the Green, it's stunning!
Love that little bible !!
Sooooo maaaany bibles behind you. My eyes are feasting! Wish you could give me one 😁 Great review!
BEAUTIFUL!!
Thank you. I just ordered the beautyful green one💚 can't wait
Great review, Mark! And moving it outside was a smart idea - the colors in natural light really came through beautifully. Cambridge consistently shows us why they are the best of the premium Bible publishers. I am very much looking forward to their new offerings in the coming months, and to your excellent reviews of them.
Thanks Guy I thought it might be a change and hopefully give us a truer picture, glad it came out well! Thanks for your support as always. Every blessing
Got my blue goatskin Cambridge cameo today such a great quality bible worth the price
😊👌
Thank you for this video! The colors are absolutely stunning. I can’t choose just one; I have to get both!
😀👍
Awesome...
Mine arrived yesterday (the green). It's my first super premium Bible, and my first Cambridge, and the quality is stunning. I love the way it feels in the hand. It's not too heavy. The cover extends nicely over the page edges. After dealing with 36gsm paper for most of my Bibles, I wasn't sure about the 28, but I actually like it. It's not as delicate as I was fearing. I do love the print, it's nice and bold. It is a bit small but the boldness mitigates that. Literally the only problem that I foresee with this is the self-pronouncing text. It's the first time I've encountered it so I guess it's something to get used to.
Otherwise this is perfect. I would probably give it a 9.5 out of 10. If the font was a bit larger and it didn't have the self pronouncing text, it would probably be 10 out of 10. It's completely worth the money in my opinion. Well made, lovely to hold, lovely to read from.
I do have a question though. I've seen people say that you shouldn't store these goatskin Bibles on a shelf vertically, that they should always go horizontally so as not to stress the binding. But I see on your shelf behind you, you store them in the boxes vertically. So that should be fine?
Hi there thanks for the comment! I do that out of necessity for storage, they’re not my personal reading Bibles. Normally I would store them flat as my own Bibles (that I read in regular circulation) are in Bible cases/bags. Hope that helps!
@@BurtonBibles It does, thank you.
The Allan Clarendon uses the same typeface, a very similar layout, and no self-pronouncing text, if that's up your alley.
@@fnjesusfreak yes I have the Clarendon wide margin and really love that typeface!
Cambridge Cameo is perfection. Plan on getting the Turquoise and the Concord down the road. I enjoy the hot plate style over digital. The green was tempting but I couldn’t ignore the beauty of the blue version.
😍👍👌
My advice , get both green and blue cameo , can’t go wrong , both are a beauty 💎☘️😁
Love the ribbons!
😍
Really enjoyed your review Mark and awesome you matched! I agree the Cameo really is the pinnacle of bible font and I hope a wide margin will come along.
Me too! Great to have these new ones in the range. 👍👌
Just ordered one in green can’t wait to get it
😊👌
Love the outside review Mark with the different bird species chirping in the background. Beautiful Bibles too by the way. 😁 Thank you for sharing.
Thank you and you’re v welcome!
Those are beautiful bibles. Thanks for reviewing.
You’re welcome 😊
Your older video with the brown calfskin Cameo convinced me to invest in one. Thanks for your reviews.
You’re very welcome, hope you’re enjoying your Cameo😀
As an Irish man (northern irish) I might get one of those lol.
Good review thank you
😀👌
To me the Cameo is practically the epitome of bible design. It's one thing I look at and say "Now that's what I call a Bible!"
I happen to agree! I think it’s a Bible for all seasons and uses!
Amen
WOW. THANKS.
Beautiful bible
Cambridge has really up their game. I believe the cameo and the Concord to be the finest quality Bibles on the market today surpassing the Allan's. The printing alone is Superior to anything else on the market. Go get one while they still make them.
Hey Mark. We haven’t heard from you for a while. Hope all is well with you, brother. Miss your videos!
Thanks Glenn, I got really busy a few months ago and really needed to focus on work and family. It’s a hard balance trying to do everything so something had to give. My hiatus will be over soon though, so stay tuned. Thanks for reaching out! God bless
I purchased a Cambridge Bible a few years ago. I think it was the Turquoise edition. Since then I've purchased 3 Schuyler and 3 Allan KJV Bibles. Cambridge seems to go with thinner leather and no yap. Two things I really enjoy in a bible. Just recently landed the Allan Highland goat longprimer with full yapp in the dark blue with the speckled pages. An absolutely gorgeous bible. I would consider Cambridge in the future if they produced a bible conquerable to a Schuyler or an Allan.
Fair enough 😀
How do you find Cambridge Press warranty?
*Wonderful review, Mark! I'm very interested in purchasing this blue Cameo. However, regarding the Cameo paper...is it easy to turn the individual pages? I recall the video of your Granddad's '64 Thompson Chain and how the pages were so easily grasped for turning. Is there a grainy feel to the paper of the Cameo?
Personally, I feel that if bible paper is' too smooth', for me it makes it difficult & aggravating to separate a few pages! Also, Waxy, shiny paper is another kind of paper that I find annoying to separate a few pages without having to resort to licking/moistening my finger tips in order to separate the last few pages when looking for a Chapter/verse.
I know it's gsm is 28...but how is the page texture and status of easily separating those precious pages? thank you, Mark. 😊*
Hi Sylvia thanks for the comments, I haven’t had a problem myself but it should be noted that these papers are quite fine, not like the thicker papers of old like the TCR you mention. It’s quite subjective so you could do with getting hands on experience! God bless
Hi mark , from where did you purchase the leather bible cover for the cameo brown calfskin ?
Lovely video as always and super duper lovely cameos , God bless you 🙏✝️
My aunty hand makes them! 😀
@@BurtonBibles beautiful, does your aunty have a website or Etsy account to sell them ?
Any update on the cameo wide margin?
No I think it will be later this year that we get any updates. Lots going on at Cambridge!
We’re did you get that Bible case that you took the Brown Calfskin Cameo out of?
We make them! 😀👍
Is your brown one as bold and as red as the new ones. Gonna get one for Christmas and I want the blackest and red font I can find
Yes I think so. God bless
Do you know if Cambridge will reprint the Cameo in this green and blue goatskin? Looks like the green & blue goatskin is no longer available at the link provided in video description. I picked up a black calfskin w/Apocrypha, but am interested in the blue goatskin also.
I can ask! I have some nice cameo’s coming up on our eBay outlet page soon!
The paper opacity and printing from cameo Green and Blue goatskin , is better and cleared than the brown calfskin , or the same ?
Same paper I believe?
Do these include the Apocrypha?
There is a version with but black calfskin only. Sorry!
Any chance you have a link for Cambridge? Looking online.. seeing options. Do not want to order from the wrong place. Thank you! Great video!!
Hi there is a link in the description of the video if you’re based in the uk you can order from me! 👍😀
@@BurtonBibles hi! I’m in the United States. Thank you for your reply!! I do not see a link.
There is one in the description to the Burton Bibles website. However I am not shipping internationally at this time. Thank you!
Great review, thank you. Could you tell me what colour the liner is in each of these editing. Are they black or just a darker version of the outer colour?
Hi there thanks for stopping by! Yes they are both black calfskin liners in these new editions. 👍
Thanks.
By the way, I feel about the Emerald text block as you do the Cameo (which I’ve used since my early 20s and have worn out two); I wish they made them in the high end bindings.
Is there away to get them with the apocrypha?
Yes there used to be one in black calfskin that came with the Apocrypha
That burton bibles products link doesn't work.
Are you a publisher? Do you publish Bibles?
It’s quite an old link now! No not a publish, I retail Bibles from Cambridge, TBS and others and also am an outlet for Cambridge seconds, returns and old stock. Thanks
Your store is amazing. I wish you'd take down the block which prohibits people from browsing. "Taking a much needed break. Be back later this year God willing."
At least allow people to browse. Just paralyze the cart button.
Thanks Bradley, sadly I don’t have that ability but I will check. Thanks and God bless
PLEASE HELP ME , IM LOOKING FOR A BIBLE THAT'S AN ( AUTHORIZED KJV BIBLE) that's a light brown or brown , and it does have headings about what your about to read , such as THE CENTURION GETS SAVED , ect please let me know where I can find it please
Come on Cambridge, just improve the readability. Don't worry about the bindings so much. Remove the self pronouncing text, from all your Bibles. Making the font a little more crisp would be great too.
@@glenn1611 yeah but it would be nice if they offer the same form factor. The Concord in a digital type set with no self pronouncing text for example.
@@glenn1611 single column though. Makes a big difference. In my opinion Cambridge need to revamp their existing KJV line up by keeping everything the same and only removing the self pronouncing text and offering a digital font for the Concord, the Cameo, and the Large Print. And the turquoise for the self pronouncing text, needs to go.
@@evo3734 I disagree. Even though I left a comment on this video talking about the self-pronouncing text being the only thing I don't like about this edition (which arrived yesterday, and which I love)... I think that both the Cameo and the Turquoise are historically important editions and it would be wrong to alter them to remove the pronouncing marks. The Clarion and the Topaz and the Pitt Minion exist to fill the space for the modern digital font offerings. All bases are covered.
@@caomhan84 Well, you can disagree but how many Cambridge Bibles do you have?
@@evo3734 No thanks! Go buy a Schuyler Bible if that's how you feel. I appreciate the old type setting and font much better. Nothing beats it!
