I have the Cine 7 with camera control on my Komodo and it's convenient AF. 😁 The only thing I wish SmallHD would implement: The ability to map the quick buttons on the right hand side to the in-camera tools such as Edge Peaking and False Color. In my experience, in-camera tools are way more reliable than those of the monitor itself. If SmallHD ever decides to get that feature into the monitor, I'd be 100% satisfied.
Thanks for the video. It helped me make the decision to invest in the Indie 7 with camera control for my RED Komodo. I’m having an issue though, and wanted to see if anyone else experiences this. My Indie 7 is connected and works great until I go to a menu option where the Komodo prompts for Yes/No. One example is securely formatting my media, and the other is calibrating the sensor. In both cases, when the Komodo prompts for Yes/No to format (or calibrate), the Yes/No only shows up on Komodo’s small screen, and at the same time, the Indie 7 screen goes blank, and then reconnects 5-10 seconds later. It is behaving like the Komodo disconnects camera control when it hits these Yes/No prompts. I’m on the latest Komodo and SmallHD firmware as of June 11, 2023. My SDI is set for 1080p, and all cables have been checked. And it is 100% repeatable. Anyone else see this as an issue?
@@Satysatonachair It's up in the top right at 7:56, looks like an adapted display for it where it doesnt give intensity of over/under exposure of the rgb values but it give an arrow in the direction and illuminates the color if it's over/under
Did you had problems with the playback feature on this monitor? On our configuration it's veeery slow and not responsive. Sometimes it even shows the playback HUD at the bottom but it still shows the live picture. It's super buggy and lags a lot.
I’m getting ready to purchase the Indie 7 for my Komodo, exactly as you have in your video. What SGI cable would you recommend? Should it be a 90-degree or straight connector into the Komodo? And, should it be 90-degree or straight connector into the Indie 7? My monitor will be mounted on top of the Komodo just like your video, and will be using the Komodo camera control as well.
Hi, I’m using this monitor but when i am plugging it in to my komodo it is saying no hdmi or sdi with any video. I’m I missing a cable for this to work or what i’m doing wrong. I’m getting no image when i have it connected to my camera. With the red teathered connection.
Has anyone had issues with this system? I'm trying to troubleshoot a smallhd 702 touch that i can longer get the control to work on. I've narrowed down the issue to what I feel pretty certain to be the monitor its self( among other testing, I plugged the whole system from our other Komodo, different body, cable, adapter box, into my monitor and no connection). I've cleaned out the port, but physical damaged seems so unlikley due to the fact that the adapter is fixed to the micro usb port at all times. So I'm thinking this is a software issue of some kind.
It’s a big boy toy not for everyone. Depends what you need and can afford. No one needs this but a lot of people can also benefit from it. If you purchased a Komodo or Dragon you won’t care about the cost of this monitor.

Can you touch the screen to select the autofocus point?
Nice videos but I didn’t see the traffic lights
i did not either. for a $500 license from red you would think...
Damn you’re right. Is it actually lacking traffic lights?

How does it compare to the RED DSMC3 monitor?

it would be good for Red to add the Autofocus box to the screen as well. if one has autofocus enabled you do not see the box on the external screen.
So it never has a box for auto focus ?
Hey what monitor mount were you using!!!
So blackshade and media format is not an issue, from what I understand?
Hey bro cheers for the Indie 7 review. Do you know for sure IF you were able to download to the latest firmware for PAGE OS5 ?
Tether-ball FTW!
Can you customize the false color?

Can it monitor in 4K when not tethered to the camera? (I know you won't have camera control)

You may have to change your monitoring to 1080 on camera under SDI monitoring menu. That's what I had to do at first.
Thanks for the video :) Is this based on PageOS 4 or PageOS 5?

What monitor mount do u have
It's the Monitor Hinge from Wooden Camera.
Which sdi cable did you use for this rig?
What is clutch? Is that s feature?
Well... The 5 inch FOCUS PRO OLED has already these features directly built-in into the monitor and is well more suited for the Komodo size...
Monitor costs almost as much as the Camera body
🤣

So fun and comedian boy
