With your hypothetical annual expense, that person is better off with the Savor one card. The extra 1x from the Amex gold card won't even break even from your "$100-150 net AF"
Agreed. If you're onto a two card setup, and don't have a massive family to feed I would take the SavorOne and earn some cash back instead of fighting to get value from the Gold's annual fee.
@@TheRDGuaranteeI don't know why people bitch and moan so much on amex gold AF because the effective fee is only 10 dollars for the amount of benefit you get😅😅😅
@@TheRDGuarantee however, you can easily take that cash back from the Savor and convert it to points onto your VX card. This essentially gives you a 3% grocery and dining card with zero annual fee. Especially useful for those who cannot value the AMEX coupon book strategy.
flying blue AMex with air france and capital one Flying blue This is one i know of for sure im sure their are others but i am not sure at this point as i havent had to deep dive
Based on your comment I would go ahead and guess that you have Chase cards (Hyatt transfer partner). Couldn't agree with you more, though! That would be really nice. Speaking of the Venture X + Savor One duo... I think you might like my next video
I like the lounge access the Venture X offers. You also get a few travel protections with the Venture X that the Business Plus doesn't. All that being said, if you don't travel a lot or don't care about those benefits, then there's no reason trying to get value out of the $395 annual fee that comes with the Venture X.
You're right, having limited domestic transfer partners is something that many don't like about Capital One. However, I often use airline alliances as a backdoor to use my Capital One miles to book domestic flights. For instance, I can often find American Airlines flights through British Airways, United flights through Air Canada, and others which are on the Capital One transfer partner list. I'll be releasing some videos on how to do this in the future - thanks for watching!
@@LK_EBM I plan to transfer Chase points for Southwest and my wife will use the Companion Pass we will earn in early 2024 (good for rest of 2024 and all of 2025).
If you don't have a video comparing this duo to venture x + savor one and to venture x + savor, you should.
I'll consider making that one! Thanks for watching

Depends on people .. I spend a lot on dining so Amex gold fit me better

great breakdown!
Thanks!
I’m owning exactly the same combo thinking exactly the way you thought 😂.. I feel like I’m speaking for my self 😅
Hahaa thanks for watching
What partner capital one and Amex gold have in common?

If Capital One ever had Hyatt as a transfer partner, I’d be all over the Venture X and Savor One
AA would be a nice transfer for C1 to have too.

Bilt rewards has both Hyatt and American airlines lol
I have the Amex Gold and the Amex business plus with no annual fee as my catch all, what is the benefit of going with the Venture x

If I could only use Capital One's transfer partners I would get the Venture X to pair with my AmEx Gold.

@@TheRDGuarantee I hear you. I just like keeping it simple for finding flights.
Transferring to domestic airline is bad value anyways. You're probably better off with cash back setup if you want simple domestic flights
