Great video! I grew up in San Jose and rode the CalTrains up to the City many a time, was always fascinated by Bayshore! I remember seeing the Circus train parked there back in the mid-1980’s but never much else
It's sad Bayshore railyards are gone! It's should have auto train (Amtrak) site to run between San Francisco (Bayshore) and Los Angeles just like Amtrak auto train ran between Lorton Va and Sanford Fl.
This is one of the most informative sources for the Bayshore Railyard. I really appreciate the depth you go into. Do you know anything about the smoke stack which is near the roundhouse? I assume that is was the smoke stack for the powerhouse based on its location. I can see it in the part of your video (2:30) showing the machine and erecting shop. Do you know any good sources of information on powerhouse?
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Spent a lot of time at Bayshore... but was a bit young to see Mission Bay, so you presenting these shots is really great! THANK you! The maps are SUPER!
This was an interesting video to watch for sure, but a tidbit of constructive criticism, try speaking more clearly with a bit more life in your words, so as to keep the attention of an audience better. Other than that, fantastic video.

So that 7th Street Corridor at the location of the Baker & Hamilton building is fairly recently developed since after 1973.
Finally got your video and thank you for sharing. I've commuted starting in 1968 to present.

Thank you for this wonderful piece of history, as I particularly seek more in regards to the SP.
Enjoyed the slides and video.
Narrator seemed to be bored.
It should be noted that the 7th street "diesel shops" are still there but it is now used for storing MOW equipment.
Thanks for putting these together. I really enjoy them.

Any thoughts on the restoration of Bayshore roundhouse?
