      Honestly, it's a triumph and everyone involved should be very proud. There'll be lots more Stargrave content coming on the channel, so I'm really glad you found this video!

    I'd also recommend the Iron Core figures, available through Wargames Atlantic (Death Fields have been mentioned), currently just the Eisenkern Stormtroopers (with separate arms, weapons, torso, legs and heads), but the female Eisenkern panzerjagers should be coming up for pre-order any day now. The Eisenkern Valkir (powered armour) have been announced to be coming later. Also from Wargames Atlantic, there are the Fantasy Spiders and Lizardmen both of which have sci-fi bits. The Mantic GCPS is also an excellent set for this with lots of spare heads and a huge amount of arms (with weapons) and unlike many sets all right arms options come with spare left/right arms.

    Should also mention Scotia Grendel up in Scotland for minis. Both their Void and Kryomek ranges are affordably priced and chock full of figs that fit Stargrave well. Old Glory also has some lovely 28mm scifi, including some of the stuff under their superfigs range, all of it well-priced and ridiculously inexpensive if you're getting the 40% discount from their OG Army membership.

    Those minis are so wonderful to put together... i got a whole box of 20 down in about an hour today... come off the sprues so easily, easy to glue them with worrying if imma break them... and they are affordable too

  • @alessiodecarolis

    Effectively they're a little "chunky", seems a modernized version of the old Imp. Guardsmen set, but with better detail & weapons. Therefore they could be very useful, either from the box or for conversions, the only problem is how they are compatibile with other producers' bits, such as Anvil Industry or Pig Iron, given that Reaper's figures are a little bigger than others. Recently on DIEHARD min. site I saw some not- mandalorian helmets, if they could be compatible with these new figures they could pass for old republic soldiers

    I built up a box of Troopers and Mercenaries II. I have some older Wizkids Sith to use as some Mystics. And I'm planning on getting some Cultist equivalents to use as Fatewinders.

    It's great your giving stargrave a shout. Only had experience with a couple mini's, but they are good fun. Something more and more im realising the well fun of.
    These rules sound pretty fun honestly.
    Also I do like when systems are simple yet have depth

    Something mentioned multiple times in the review is Firefly. Using the models from Firefly Adventures was definitely my first thought. So many other popular franchise choices have existing miniatures from various sources as well.

    I've asked for this book for Xmas. I looking for a system to play that won't hurt my wallet. With that I mind I have tonnes of Primaris lying around (I play Necrons in 40k) and was wondering if they'd be ok for Stargrave?

    • @TesseractMinis
      @TesseractMinis  3 роки тому +1

      Nah, Stargrave doesn't care about base size, so long as it's sensible for the model. It's more of a community policed game, where if your opponent thinks you're taking the piss, they'll say. That said, it's also really not a competitive game at all, so no one really cares.

    • @ryanodoherty4090

    I've played quite a bit of Frostgrave and like it. This is basically a reskin for SF, which I don't consider a problem. If you dislike Frostgrave for any reason other than theme, you'll likely dislike this game as well. If you like Frostgrave, this has only fairly small differences.
    That said, those differences do cause a difference in feel. In particular, Stargrave has much more ranged combat, which does change the play noticeably. There are some other tweaks, most of which help the play, but it's very much the same game.
    As I say, I like Frostgrave, so I don't consider any of that a particular negative. YMMV.
