From what I've gotten over the years the price has almost nothing to do with the tone or the feel of the guitar. It's mostly quality of life stuff. How well it holds tuning, how long the materials will last, defects, etc. $500-$1000 seems to be the sweet spot.

They picked 5 guitars, unknown to me at the time, a Fender American, a PRS S2 Custom 24, a G&L Legacy, a Squier and a Godin Session. Same amp and room, I went by feel and sound alone. I walked away with the Godin Session HT matt black. Love it.

Unrelated, but you are one of the best teachers on youtube. Seriously, ive seen them all by now 😂
Very technically sound and great musicianship! Rarely do you see both in one.
Many are either great players who can’t explain, or great at explaining but their playing isn’t as tight - so they overcomplicate with theory rather than practice.
Anyway, I’m sure 52 week player is a great value, but some of us already have enough skill (or resourcefulness) that we don’t really feel it’s worth it. I suggest you make a few patreon tiers for those of us fall in that category.
Maybe an extra vid / lesson a week, tabs on screen. Nothing too crazy ✌️

27:17 who knew going to a guitar store could be so fun like here in the Philippines I think the biggest one I got into was DnD, and Rj guitars it wasnt thid big probably like 1 room with hanging guitars, and it was inside a mall, Mall of Asia to he exact, but it was cool they got all of it there.

Would have been nice if the guitars were in tune ! No sense in watching this especially because it is a blindfold test and having to find the tuning keys may give away the guitar brand.

cracked me up when he over reached the head stock on the mini Taylor. Reminded me of when after learning to play on a cornet I got a trumpet. We were taught to snap our instrument into playing position so as I went to test drive, my muscle memory was for the length of the cornet and I almost knocked my front teeth out. I wound up not being able to play for several days after getting it because my teeth cut the inside of my lip.

I see you picked those XS strings from Daddario. I've been using them for the last several months. they're durable and play great! Solid choice. My go to strings now.

    Black - through-neck - one deMarzio pickup ...
    It's beautifully balanced. Sound's epic ... RIP Chuck, Brother 🙏 🤍
