HAPPY KALI PUJA AND HAPPY DIWALI!
So as you all know, this is that time of the year when we pray to Goddess Kali (and some of us to Goddess Lakshmi) to tear down the walls of darkness and bless us with light. Kali, is violent, she is bloodthirsty, she is angry and demonic but at the same time she is a mother, protecting her beloved children from the grasp of evil, taking down one asura after another. She is eternal, the essence of the universe, ready to tear down anything that stands in the path of light. This artwork, therefore, is dedicated to all women out there, especially to all the mothers who take care of their loved ones no matter what. I believe that every woman resembles not just the docile goddess Lakshmi but also the fierce goddess Kali. In fact, I was inspired by a certain poem by Swami Vivekananda while making this artwork. He says,
" A thousand, thousand shades
Of Death begrimed and black -
Scattering plagues and sorrows,
Dancing mad with joy,
Come, Mother, come!
For Terror is Thy name,
Death is in Thy breath,
And every shaking step
Destroys a world for e’er.
Thou “Time”, the All-Destroyer!
Come, O Mother, come!
Who dares misery love,
And hug the form of Death,
Dance in Destruction’s dance,
To him the Mother comes."
This poem touched me so much and I couldn't help myself from making this form of the Goddess.

Lately i felt bad about myself, because i was feeling stuck in my routine too, i'm like you, i can easily be afraid of some changes, and with everything which is going on, this is hard to do things, to move on. And this is really hard times for everyone but as an artist too (i'm an illustrator) sometimes i'm feeling like "useless", but your video brought me so much reconfort, so much peace, you just allowed me to take a deep breathe and i was thinking "we are all together, we are not alone" because i was not alone for this past 11 minutes and 23 seconds, with you, and so finally, right now i think art is even more important, because your art, your videos, everything you're doing is helping a lot of us (i just read a few comments and i can feel the love and the respect for art in this community) and i love that so much ! So thank you Jim for just being an incredible artist, woman and just over all, being a sweet human being and for sharing your brightness with us, thank you 💕💕 (oh btw sorry for all the english mistakes i am french)
