The Deathstroke portrayed in "Arrow" has a completey different origin from the original one. Although I prefer the orignal Slade story I still love the show
They revamped everything for Arrow. Oliver doesn't have a sister and his supposed to be an orphan in the comics.
i would preffered a show about his life tho instead of going on at arrow..
That show is awesome but some of the changes made really bother me. Like how they turned one of the most badass fighter in all of DC into a whiny coked up lawyer...
It's not completely different, for example in the show he was in the army and he had a son.
But the fact that he's Aussie and how he got his powers/ his mental instability is totally different.

I don't think that was the problem, if you watched the show some guy got a buzz saw chucked at him.
Sean Mounts You're right can't use the word death in a show marketed toward younger viewers. In fact in the "Justice League" cartoon they had to rename the Suicide Squad Task Force X (their alternate name in the comics) for the same reason.

I think the reason Batman keeps losing is because; Batman knows almost every martial art and that could lead Batman to think which move to use during a fight,and your not really suppose to THINK during a fight,while Mr.Death Stroke only knows a few martial arts, using simple moves that are backed up with his advanced speed.

Wait what? Deathstroke is debatably the one and only person to really have the ability to not only defeat Batman, but become his successor. I mean Bruce may know 2 more martial arts more than Slade, but that is not enough to tamper with Slade's physical and mental superiority. Slade can beat anyone on the planet essentially.. He would deal with the Flash first, because leaving him alive after taking out a fellow League member would be suicide due to the fact the flash could technically incapacitate Slade within 1 second coming from New York City to India, I mean he can be every where almost at once because he is stupid fast. So Flash gets sniped while in his apartment. Superman, he would just shoot with a 50. Caliber Kryptonite round from 2 miles away. Green Lantern, he would eventually get in possession of his ring and wield it because it's use is based off of pure will power. Aquaman, he would distract internally by causing Aquaman to focus on Atlantis due to corruption with in making him fight off his arch enemies who ever the eff they are. Some one is always trying to take Aquaman's thrown.. The Teen Titans, he has been shown to know how to deal with all on his own. Martian Man hunter, he would just poison a box of cookies. Wonder woman, he would just eventually out strategies and kill her in hand to hand combat for the sport of it all. Captain Marvel he would watch, study, discover his true form as a child and probably kill him, or if he is feeling generous and not into killing children, Slade would grab him in his sleep and cover his mouth before he can "SHAZAM!!!" out, tie him up and keep his mouth permanently covered in captivity some where secluded. But, that's IF Slade is feeling generous enough not just to end him while he is playing cod in his bed room one day. Hawk man, he would deal with by defeating Hawk girl, capturing her while hiding behind her with a gun to her head, forcing Hawk man to lay down his mace and Slade would use a remote controlled 50 caliber from a mile and a half away he is controlling to take off his wings. Shoots hawk girl, shoots hawk man. Green arrow he would have trouble with, but would eventually defeat because he has in the past. And last but not least, the hardest adversary: Batman, he would discover his true identity, kill Alfred for emotional disruption to Bruce and Selena Kyle as bait to lead Bruce in for one more traditional show down where the end of the fight would end in Slade's favor due to how emotionally compromised Batman would become due to the loss of Nightwing from the Titans, Alfred's death, and the fear of losing the last and only person he debatably cares about more than anyone else. Selena.

Daniel Bailey True. I mean Batman wasn't known to be mentally stable. Some Say he has issues. In justice league unlimited Batman admitted he has issues.
Daniel Bailey I'm actually impressed at the level of thought you put into this without sounding like a total fanboy. It actually sounds pretty legit. You deserve an award. I don't think anyone's been able to make such a long point with it actually being very logically sound but still fair to all the characters.
Now I'm sure it would never happen as the Justice League would pick up on it and I bet Slade wouldn't go after them all unless there was some kind of reward for all the trouble. Plus they all typically manage to overcome assassination attempts as we see in the animated film "Justice League: Doom". But it was still good. But honestly, I'd love to see an animated film on that last scenario with him and Batman with Slade using Selena as bait. That's honestly a great idea.
They really need to get another Batman animated series (a good one) up and running. Nowadays they keep trying to make them different to make it new but we haven't seen all the really canon stuff since the animated series from the 80s to early 2000s. It's a new generation. I think it'd be cool to see Batman, the 3 Robins, Batgirl and those characters again. Also, if it could just get a little gritty (enough for tv-14 so it can still run on like Cartoon Network) that'd be great. Cartoons today are getting worse and worse. Yeah, I'm not a kid anymore but I'm still a sucker for a good animated series. Would it kill someone to make something a little more mature? I mean kids watch anime and that stuff isn't super appropriate.
xboxcomplicated Oh well yeah of course. He wouldn't just kill them all for shits and giggles (that's more of a Wade thing, not a Slade thing.) But yeah see I liked the new Assault on Arkham with the Suicide squad. I mean it was bad ass. But the only reason I hated Son of Batman was because of how much of an absolute bitch they made Deathstroke out to be.. I mean I was like "Psh, really?" At least 4 different times. But it's because he is the "bad guy" and he has to lose but still. I even thought Arkham origins was bullshit in a sense in the fight between him and Batman. So yeah if they ever do an animated Suicide Squad sequel, they definitely should include him in it. Because they made Deadshot, Harley and the rest of the team as badass as they actually are. Definitely need Slade in the sequel

I like the complicated family relationship that Deathstroke has with his kids. It adds depth to the character. He gives off the air of not caring, but in truth he loves his children. He just does not know how to show it. He is the kind of father that is not nice, will not be there all the time, but will be there when he is needed. As a certain character from a different franchise once said "A good man means well. He just doesn't always do well".

Fun Fact: Besides Deadpool, Deathstroke bears a resemblance to another Marvel character, the Taskmaster, who was created at about the same time also by George Perez. Very similar costumes and weapons.
Taskmaster might have been the inspiration, though I know Deadpool was literally made as a parody of Deathstroke and how "edgy" DC was at the time. Funny how that all works out given Marvel's current trends.

I just say, I love the casting choice for Deathstroke in Arrow. I love that actor so much, he played Crixus in Spartacus Blood and Sand and did an amazing job, he plays a really good deathstroke too!

She has a surprisingly large pool of information and depth to her including her initial need to please her father, the desire to be like him, her training, her confused past, her allignment with the Teen Titans and now her constant desire to hunt her father.
He's one of the characters I've been waiting for you to do! I hope to see him in some future movies! He's a great character.

Deathstroke's name is Slade. The teen titans show wasn't allowed to use the word death because of legal reasons, so it's kind of obvious.

The writers of the show obviously didnt give a fuck as in the Titans in Tokyo special for example Robin beat a guy to death and was arrested because of it. I really love DeathStroke, started getting into him and he is quickly becoming my favorite character in the DC universe. The only thing I notice with him is his age, he seems pretty damn old to be kicking ass on the daily haha. With the healing factor does that also include a longer lifetime? bob baker Shazams first appearance was in 1940 in Whiz Comics #2. Captain Marvels (Marvel) first appearance was in 1967 in Marvel Super-Heros #12. So there ya go if there was any ripping off it was on Marvels part :P
Marvel /DC fan wars are just redundant.I like Marvel and DC. There are things that can be great from either one at times from certain runs of graphic novels etc. But In all honesty tho there are far better comic/ graphic novel runs from other companies. Companies like Vertigo/ Image/ Valiant/ Dark horse etc could put to shame Marvel and DC's comic plots etc. Im more pissed on DC at the moment because John Constantine is being shit on by DC in the new 52. He is a interesting character that is being watered down and that is a freaken shame because he has way more potential then some of DC's characters.

Deathstroke doesn't get enough credit. He's taken out Wally West Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Zatanna at the same time. He's also taken out all the Teen Titans (the main popular group) at the same time. He's knocked the absolute shit out of batman on multiple occasions, beaten Green Lantern, and tagged Barry Allen Flash

I recently got into teen Titans tv show and season 2 just started, Deathstroke shows up in the first episode. I wasn't sure who he was now I know, nothing worse than watching a show and having no idea who the characters are.

One of my favorites of all time
I had a whole Deathstroke costume. It doesn’t fit anymore as I outgrew it but I used hockey pads armor spray painted and super detailed official Deathstroke mask. This plus some holders and nerf guns and you got a fucking awesome costume.

I have always loved the Emerald Knights and was ecstatic when you dropped the history if the green lanterns, but I was so during if you could shed some light (no pun intended) on the rest of the spectrum of light corps. I and really interested to see where they came from, and I'd like some good reads to bring me up to speed with them.

I always dislike Dead pool how is personality is annoying and meant for someone who has adhd. Plus his look, powers and skill set is based completely off the different character and I mean to the point i can't respect that as a marvel character.
I hate to break it to you, but half of the superheroes are based off of their Marvel/DC counterparts.
Not half there are literally over 5,000 characters in marvel alone and DC has probably similar numbers. There are ton's of original Characters.
But I can name some right now
1. Captain America
2. Ant-man
3. Hulk
4. Iron-man and yes Iron-man is no where near like Batman so if you say that then you need to pick up a comic book.
5. Spiderman
6. Wolverine and all the original x-men and even very unpopular new x-men characters.
7. The Thing and Invisible Women.
10. The first Human Torch
11. Black Widow is an orginal concept of a brainwashed spy but being a women.

The List goes on and on. Just cause Some DC characters are based off Marvel and Vice Versa doesn't mean all of them are copy cats.
You are cancelling out thousands of original characters that aren't as popular.
And even if the Characters are based off each other Like Hawkeye and Green Arrow. Their Personality and origins are Drastically different. I actually Prefer hawkeye and he was just Marvel's answer to Green Arrow...But they couldn't be more different when it comes to the actual Character.
Michael Chase You just contradicted yourself. You said that it's ok for Green Arrow and Hawkeye to have similar abilities because their personalities are different, but it's the same for Deadpool and Deathstroke. Deathstroke is calculative and thinks ahead whereas Deadpool just dives in head first with guns blazing.

Those old Teen Titan issues with Deathstroke were epic stuff.
The small Deathstroke story arch in Identity Crisis is probably my favorite. Damn near took down the entire JL by himself.
