Since his physical abilities wouldn’t realistically be enough to take on an entire team of powerful metas, there is only one way to make Slade a proper Teen Titans villain, and it’s simply by asking this question: What is the biggest difference between Slade and the Teen Titans? Age and experience. So basically in the Barflack movie Slade had his lead up to Judas Contract motivation while acting like Bane in Knightfall. Weird stories to mash to make a new one tbh.
Not exactly Judas Contract. Slade works with Hive to finish Grant's contract because Hive gave a special Power up to Grant that made him dying and Slade thinks Teen Titans kill him during his mission. I think it's on Judas Contract that he learns that was Hive that kill his son.

Finally someone said it! Deathstroke is a Titans villain. On top of that, he's individually faced the trinity before but for some reason Dc keeps pairing him w/Batman for some reason. As of the Bat didn't have enough villains in his gallery already.
I'll be honest, the first time I met the character was in the Son of Batman movie, the scene where he puts on his mask for the first time and says he's Deathstroke I was like: "Am I supposed to know who that is?". Then years later after knowing more about him I retroactively realized he was "Slade" in the Teen Titans show, and have disliked that interpretation of him ever since.
Is Slade Wilson, Deathstroke, a member of Batman's rogues gallery? No. But is he one of Batman's greatest adversaries? Yes. Darkseid is not strictly a Superman villain either. He was created by Jack Kirby as part of his "New Gods" storyline for DC after Kirby left Marvel. But today we consider Darkseid to be one of Superman's greatest enemies.
That comparison doesn't fit. Darksied still made his debut in a Superman title, Deathstroke debuted in the new Teen Titans, a crossover team book. Not at all the same trajectory.
Major difference is Darkseid mostly targets the justice league and Superman specifically Deathstroke targets the teen titans because he likes those teens and primarily targets Nightwing or Robin
Deathstroke is a complete DC Villain and the reason why we see him fight against Batman is that he was hired or something valid. Bro has beef with batman's son why yall so surprised that Deathstroke is also fighting against him 😭
7:20 thats my biggest problem with the Arkham Games, and no not just Suicide Squad. Its the fact they glazed Batman in his series so much, that other characters like Nightwing and Deathstroke are treated like fodder. Ironically enough, Suicide Squad is still a bad game, but atleast they scaled Deathstroke to how he should actually be like. He actually looks like a menace, and that suit goes hard.
Never got why people want so bad Deathstroke to be a Batman villain. With the exception of the cool fight there's literally nothing else. If i want a Batman villain that could stand his ground in a 1v1 fight i would pick KGBeast or Black Spider, if i want an expert marksman i could use Tally Man or Deadshot, if i want more of a physical fight i could pick Lady Shiva or Pagan. Literally all better villains than Deathstroke for Batman since all of them have a reason to be a Batman villain: from revenge (Tally Man) to feeling some kind of affinity (Black Spider)
@@space1734 to add to what thundercharged has said i would also add that Shiva had a very important role during Knightquest with Bruce so she's part of one of Batman's most important stories ever. I guess at the end of the day Shiva is a like Chemo: very powerful and famous villains that became so much more popular than their respective heroes
@@space1734 i agree on that but i would say it's more of an adaptation thing. People always want to sort these villains into the Rogues Galleries that they think “make sense”. They want Batman to fight all the martial artists and gimmick guys. They want Superman to fight all the world beaters. Heck, Arrowverse actually went ahead and did it by making Flash primarily fight metahumans (including Firestorm’s entire RG) and Supergirl primarily concerned with aliens. I’ve heard people say guys like Toyman and Prankster should really be Batman villains more than once. But that kind of thinking just homogenizes the rogues galleries.
Hey, man! While you and I have opposing/differing opinions on Zack Snyder's DCEU (and what kind of horror WB cooked up without him), I do appreciate you doing a fair coverage on what was supposed to be Ben Affleck's THE BATMAN. While the movie we got was pretty good and loved by fans, I do feel like we missed out what could have been an action + psychological thriller.
Deathstroke isn't a Batman villain he's a villain who's faught Batman and many other heroes such as Wonder Woman, Superman, green arrow, Green Lantern, Robin etcetera. Slade has always been a villain to the Teen Titans and Nightwing.

As someone who just read the identity crisis comics I can definitely say that he is built different. Seeing him 1 v 6 the justice league with careful planning was so sick to see.
Dude, anytime peope refer to Deathstroke as a Bat Villain above all else it still physically hurts me. It really did seem from about the early 10s DC wanted to shift Slade to being more of a Bat Villain or very least a stand alone villain that would fight whoever but mostly Batman. Sadly his and his family's Titans origins were buried, in comics and other adaptions, despite his biggest , earliest adaption was the 03 Teen Titans cartoon which as great as that was, sadly made this character one-note and removed the family angle that originally fueled so much of his character including his Titans vendetta and not even explored in a TV Y7 was like Judas Contract or Terror of Trigon. In Son Of Batman he felt so lacking and as you pointed out inconsistent, making it a very underwhelming Slade. Even when Jericho cameoed in animated Judas Contract, they supposedly were not related anymore like for real? The closest was we see him fighting a Robin, not even Dick. It also helps Slade was originally created as sort of evil Batman which helped fuel that connection. Also everyone forgets it wasn't originally Dick who was the Titan Slade had a bitter rivalry with but Beast Boy concerning Terra. And yeah, less of that relationship with Terra the better. It was poorly thought out 80s grittiness and in Slade's 90s solo series Marve Wolfman had Slade turn a girl down once he found out she was underage. Christopher Priest who wrote the newer retcon in Rebirth wanted to explore how messed up that was while also acknowledging how Terra was a victim and was low for Slade which the original version was reluctant to address.
I freaking hate that people think he's a Batman villain, especially when he appeared as a major villain in Arrow, and Arrow, was basically Batman lite, so more people assumed they just took it from Batman stories... One of the few times he's actually associated with the Titans is either the 2003 show, awesome, not totally Deathstroke for casuals to pick up, but it's there. The DCAMU, which is fine... But he's more of a Damian villain, which not many have seen in general. Then there's Titans... Which is godawful, but it gets "some" of the best right, but it ain't super popular, thankfully. But, it's a double edged sword, those not good one's are CLOSER to Deathstroke, but there just... Not that good, or have eyes on them, but a full on BIG movie, it should be for Teen Titans film, and not a Batman film... UNLESS, he's a side villain, in like a ensemble villain piece where it ties into Nightwing.
I'm fine with him facing off against Batman, slade is a great character to use for multiple different heroes but he shouldn't be the main villain in a Batman movie, there's no real connection between the two characters unlike with nightwing and deathstroke

I love deathstroke so I wouldn’t want him to just be in 1 dc movie. I think there’s room to make him a secondary villain in a Batman movie then the main villain of a teen titans movie
I'm... *_really_* glad the Snyderverse interpretation never got the treatment that was rumored. The idea of Batman encountering a bunch of his rogues in Arkham Asylum in one movie has far more potential to be a terrible anthology of short encounters with villains I want whole movies for than anything I'd actually like. However, it sucks that Joe Manganiello never got to actually fight Affleck's Batman at all, too. I consider Deathstroke just a DC villain who's capable of fighting whoever DC wants him to fight. But it isn't just Arkham Origins. Arrow was basically played by the CW as a "we can't use Batman, so we're gonna make Green Arrow Batman instead" show, and gave us, imo, one of the best versions of Deathstroke we've ever gotten. I get the sense that since Slade is perfectly capable of standing toe-to-toe with Bruce, DC themselves wanted to elevate the character. I don't care if he originated as a Titans villain. Punisher started as a one-off Spider-Man villain. Kingpin started off as a Spider-Man villain but became far more associated with Daredevil over the years. Characters can grow as the years go on, and if the writing's good, and people take to it, I have no real problem with it.
THANK YOU! Someone else said it! Deathstroke is too op for batman anyway. It makes more sense for Deathstroke to fight an entire team of heroes. With many members having powers. He's the arch nemesis of the teen titans. He is NOT a batman villain! Batman doesn't need to hog all the villains.

I thought everybody knew he was a teen Titans villain. Which I always thought was weird that he's basically evil Captain America but he has struggle with children.
It’s why I always think Slade works better if he has his own hero’s gallery, where he’ll fight characters like Batman, Green Arrow, Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Birds of Prey, but his archenemies should always be Nightwing and titans. Kinda like how Doctor Doom has his own hero’s gallery where he’ll fight characters like Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Thor, Doctor Strange, Avengers, and Shield, his archenemies should always be Mr. Fantastic and Fantastic Four.
Me too , during the beginning of the new teen titans I used to ship them together. Also I used to ship wally west and raven. And starfire with nightwing.
Deathstroke should, in theory, be impossible for anyone without powers to beat in a straight fight. He basically has Captain America's physical stats. He's the maximum of human achievement in every physical way. On top of that, he's enhanced mentally. His greatest advantage he has in any fight is his mind and reflexes. His reflexes are perfect, instant. With his enhanced quickness and agility, trying to punch Deathstroke is like trying to punch your own reflection. It's impossible because your own hand will get in your way. That's what it's like trying to get through Deathstroke's defenses in hand to hand combat.
Most heroes have a rouge's gallery. Deathstroke, while he's mainly Dick Grayson's arch nemesis, he has a full heroes gallery. He's crossed paths with the Justice League, Batman, the Titans, Nightwing, Green Arrow, Huntress, Black Lightning and a few other DC comics heroes.
Thank You! Tired of them dogging DEATHSTROKE to make batboy look good, he's way beyond batman, he's a Titan villain, a villain who can take out Entire Teams, batman ain't in his league and we should blame those Hacks at Rocksteady for this!
The post credit scene reminded me that Full Fat Videos made a pitch for what ended up being Venom: The Last Dance where, because of Doctor Strange’s spell, Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock and Joe Maginello as Agent Venom end up in the movie’s universe leading to a three way fight and our Eddie/Venom teams up with Agent Venom against Topher Grace. That would’ve been awesome. I haven’t seen the movie btw because I’ve been told that it’s the worst of the trilogy.
Even in "Beware the Batman" they gave the two beefed with one another. If I had to hanker a guess DC/WB were trying to artificially make popular culture synergy.

I dont think people realize just how crucial Deathstroke is to Dick as a character in his maturing from robin to Nightwing espeically in Judas Contract. Making him batmans rival is infinitely less cool
Is funny because technically Deathstroke should not struggle at all with Batman. Literally old first stories that had both meeting had him wiping the floor with Bats
His rivalry with the Titans is interesting and dramatic since Slade always pursuit them with more personal beef for blaming them for the death of his son

That Terra situation is mind boggling. Why people trying to whitewash Terra? Terra was a sociopath and rotten to the core. She was a monster and underage that's the entire point of her character. Deathstroke used her but he knew how dangerous she is. When Deathstroke confronted with Beastboy , he told how a lost cause she is. That's funny after that confrontation Slade retired but he was incredibly popular and returned. But Terra thing was still exist. Both of em are villians and bad peoples, there is no need for whitewash. Different versions exist like TT animated series and there are good Terra II (don't know much about her) version in comics.
At this point Deathstroke has more beef with Black Canary or Green Arrow than Batman.
Fun Fact: Deadshot isnt really a Batman villian. Until New 52, Batman never fought Deadshot in real life since 90s.
That Deadshot "Fun Fact" isn't true in the slightest. Deadshot and Batman still fought in the Batman: Fugitive storyline that ran in the early 2000s, almost a decade before the New 52.
Please read more comics instead of making stuff up.
@tebS23 90s/00s i often put that together.
Deadshot started in Batman back in the 60s I think where he posed as a hero while committing crimes on the side until Batman caught him He wore a black Western style outfit and was kinda forgettable. Then he wasn't used for a decade or so, until he returned with his new costume and wrist magnums in the late 70s/early 80s and then hit the big-time in the Suicide Squad and later, the Secret Six.
@@samspurgeon4222 I amn't saying he never wasn't. I am saying after 90s/00s, it feel that he wasn't a Batman Villain as he barely personally fought Batman.

Teen Titans is the best way imo. Jericho could've been part of the Titans and died on a mission. He wants vengeance on them. Serves the story better. Rose is part of it as well. I like Deathstroke when he shows up. YJ, Teen Titans, Beware the Batman, and the animated movie where he's the main character. I think its called Knights and Dragons. Really good. He can intertwine with Batman but not his main villain.
Of course he’s a titan s villain nut I also think he’s one of the villains that has his own rouges gallery. Green Arrow, half the titans, and Batman.
Deathstroke is not a Batman villain, but he is not a Teen Titans villain either, he is a general villain of the DC universe, he has fought against the Teen Titans, Batman, Superman, the Justice League, etc.
This channel has so many great takes.
I love you made this video. I have always said this. He’s a Teen Titans/Titans villain. He’s their arch nemesis through and through.
Batman has already the best rogues gallery of comics, he doesn't need another one with Deathstroke
CW fans: "EXACTLY he's clearly an Arrow villain as he's clearly made for only Oliver and no one else.....i totally know comics"
Well, given Oliver did train under Natas, the two have fought several times in the comics and Slade crashed his and Dinah’s wedding… I’d say he could classify as a Green Arrow villain to a degree.

Deathstroke debuted in Teen Titans and has never been a Batman villain.

I don’t think there should be a “sure” about it. I think with villains like them, (deathstroke) they can have their own rouges gallery and thrive just as much.
Him appearing in the Arkham games was a blessing and a curse.
More of a curse bc they really didn’t do jack shit with him and just made him a fodder against Batman, he just there.
Curse I'd say, one cool fight scene, then waste in Arhkam and he's kinda cool in the Suicide Squad game.
No, just a curse.
Since his physical abilities wouldn’t realistically be enough to take on an entire team of powerful metas, there is only one way to make Slade a proper Teen Titans villain, and it’s simply by asking this question: What is the biggest difference between Slade and the Teen Titans? Age and experience. Let him be a starter villain for the Teen Titans, where he outsmarts them constantly and really emphasizes that the Titans are just kids who are starting out and are scared of his veteran brutality regardless of their powers. Imagine the story-telling potential
If Slade is going to be a Batman villain, he should at least operate primarily out of Gotham. That being said, Slade is always ready to throw hands with anyone who gets in his way. Like, it's always 100% on sight when he shows up in any comic, and I enjoy it every time.
Thank you, I am so tired of the forced rivalry between Bats and Slade. Like damn let Dick have some interesting rogues for himself.
Lol that's the real problem isn't it. Nightwing fans don't wanna share their villains lmao
@@KillMonger592 No it's a constant need to shoehorn Batman into everything. Or that a character is at their peak relevance only if they are connected to Batman.
DC is kinda stuck with that. The Bat books have been their best sellers for years, so if they want to push a character, they kinda have to use Batman to get as many eyes on it as they can

@@ronnie3613 this. Batman is DC’s top seller so now they just can’t let him sit out on anything. He HAS to be in every single goddamn story no matter how little sense it makes for him to be in it. They don’t trust any DC character to sell a film unless Batman is in it. Saddest part is, they might actually be right (DC fans can’t stop riding Batman’s meat either. It’s made me sick of Batman in general).
@@ghostrouxinol6169 in both the BatFlack movie and the lead up to Judas Contract Slade blames the hero/es for the death of his son, just or not, which led to him wanting revenge and was the reason and motivation for a lot of his actions. He's certainly more dangerous around teens
Finally someone said it! Deathstroke is a Titans villain. On top of that, he's individually faced the trinity before but for some reason Dc keeps pairing him w/Batman for some reason. As of the Bat didn't have enough villains in his gallery already.
what an intro
I'll be honest, the first time I met the character was in the Son of Batman movie, the scene where he puts on his mask for the first time and says he's Deathstroke I was like: "Am I supposed to know who that is?". Then years later after knowing more about him I retroactively realized he was "Slade" in the Teen Titans show, and have disliked that interpretation of him ever since.
It's more accurate to comics because teen titans couldn't make him act like himself
Calling Deathstroke a "Batman Villian" is about as stupid as calling Black Atom a Superman Villian.
Atom or Adam?
Oh, look! It’s Deathstroke! The Batman villain everybody!
Didn't Darkseid make his first appearance in Kirby's New Gods series in the 70s?

Lady Shiva is a Richard Dragon villain
@@space1734 Shiva's a little different, since her creator also wrote Batman comics and purposely set her up as an antagonist to him.

Thanks for spreading the truth for a wider audience than the comic bubble. Poor Dick Grayson lost his archnemesis in the general audience mind
Holy shit this is what ive been trying to say for years
He’s not a Batman villain but everybody’s villain
Exactly what I've been saying he's been everywhere.
Deathstroke isn't a Batman villain he's a villain who's faught Batman and many other heroes such as Wonder Woman, Superman, green arrow, Green Lantern, Robin etcetera. Deathstroke is the only villain with a heroes gallery he has Many enemies. But his real arch enemy has always been Dick Grayson aka The Nightwing. Slade has always been a villain to the Teen Titans and Nightwing.
He fought Batman in the past, but once he appeared in arkham origins that solidified people seeing him as a Batman villian.
Yeah, the batfleck movie sounds like it would have been cheeks. Im glad they canned it. Also most people use near 100% of their brain irl but story wise, it sounds cool
Deathstroke is definitely more of a titans/ nightwing villain, but I kinda see it like dr doom where he has his main adversaries, but also has beef with everyone
Deathstroke’s like the Juggernaut where he has a primary enemy in the Titans, but fights just about every hero in the universe.
I'm fine with him facing off against Batman, slade is a great character to use for multiple different heroes but he shouldn't be the main villain in a Batman movie, there's no real connection between the two characters unlike with nightwing and deathstroke
Deathstroke, in my opinion, works as a Nightwing Villain, he's an assassin with a hatred for teenagers. Nightwing works too well.
Dude doesn't have a hatred for teenagers tf😂
He's got a hatred for a specific group of teenagers that he blames for his sons death.
The simple answer is dc doesn’t care about Nightwing or the titans. Nightwing is a joke now and titans well you’ve seen teen titans go, DCAMU and the titans show. Batman vs Deathstrond is also more hype because Nightwing always gets clapped by death stroke one sidedly
Characters can grow as the years go on, and if the writing's good, and people take to it, I have no real problem with it.
hey i’ve seen this one this is a classic!

The word "villain" gets thrown around alot. The guys a bad guy with good tendencies and is a MENACE to anyone who he deems enemy.

Never thought of Deathstroke outside Teen Titans.
Slightly off topic but, read Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter.

As a favorite podcast of mine used to say "slade uses 100% of his brain but only 50% of his eyeballs"
He's a mercenary. If the price is right, he's willing to fight the likes of Wonder Woman & Superman.
Deathstroke is at his most boring as a character when hes a Batman viilain. Everything interesting about him is when hes against the Titans

The video game bros out here swearing DS is the absolute villain because he had a cool cut scene in a video game
Deathstroke is too strong for Batman, he needs an entire team to take him down. Everytime he fights Batman he's nerfed.
Thank You! Tired of them dogging DEATHSTROKE to make batboy look good, he's way beyond batman, he's a Titan villain, a villain who can take out Entire Teams, batman ain't in his league and we should blame those Hacks at Rocksteady for this!
Also besides his New 52 run with Nth Metal, Slade has been getting nerfed to hell post crisis. I don’t think comics know fully what to do with him.
Id say he’s a teen villain. Not teen titans just teens
Deathstroke is a EVERYTHING VILLAIN BOY SHUSH
Batgirl helping Batman fight Deathstroke never made sense to me, she would be more of a hindrance than help.
Unless the batgirl in question is cassandra cain. I could buy that
Damm that Batman and Deathstroke movie and footage sounds and looked dope
Why use deathstroke for that film when they set the story up perfectly as bayne or hush
Exactly. What role does he fill that couldn't easily have been swapped out by other characters
If he were a villain to anyone besides the Teen Titans, it would probably be Nightwing. He fights around. A lot. He's a mercenary.
Even in "Beware the Batman" they gave the two beefed with one another.
If I had to hanker a guess DC/WB were trying to artificially make popular culture synergy.
I find it amusing how Deathstroke has the super soldier serum but loses to Batman & other human heroes even though they’re human.
Yea it's like the writers seem to always forget the part about the guy having the strength of 10 men and brain juice dialed up ×90
Slade Wilson is actually everyone’s villain he is just a villain with a heroes gallery and he doesn’t need to be bound to one mythos to be great
