I love the color of the interior. I’m 35 and this was my family car growing up and I appreciated everything like the cloth door panel or how the door knob rolls
I had one in the same color, but with the CL trim package. I found the seats (in CL trim) were more comfortable than the Corolla of the same era. We loved everything about that car except the sticky choke and the periodic hesitation when accelerating. At about the time we traded it in, I found out that the Toyota dealers had a fix for the hesitation. Wish I would have checked into that and kept the car for a few more years.
The CL trim could be upgraded to fully carpeted trim and the drivers seat would have a lumbar and seat height adjustment as well as a trunk and gas lever pops. After working on these for years now you tend to notice things and diagnosis becomes second nature, tuning these cars is a whole other story and takes hours and hours of playing with it till you start understanding what everything does as a whole. thank you for commenting!
Thats not a stock radio, it looks stock but it isn't, and there's a reason why this video has the word (old) in it and i misspoke about the engine coming out of a truck, at the time I thought the head came from a 4 cylinder truck motor. the head that came from that motor actually came out of a fuel injected version of the 4ac motor. Ask me any question about these cars and I'll have more answers than you can ever think of, don't call me a kid when you have nothing to show.
@jamessouthworth1699 exactly, this happened 7 years ago. You're afraid of me speaking the truth on you aren't you, keep acting tough boy. I love putting people in their places and where they stand, you can't say something and then run away like that without saying something, shows who you are and how you do business with others, not open to hear anyone out with such a demeaning meaner, what would you expect after your initial behavior exhibited today.

junior third don't know what's so sad about it, people judge a car they've never drove or driven to it's full potential, these are hidden gems for sure.
@@toyoscio if you've ever driven one for a couple years they certainly grow on you, sure the 80s nova wasn't technically american made (only the stamping of the body and some of the plastic parts is american designed) but if people didn't judge them as hard as they did and drove them to their fullest potential back then, I'm sure there would be more appreciation, the 80s was a fuel economy era, and the nova back in the 60s and 70s was also considered a family sedan point a to b with a bigger motor with some upgraded packages. These little econoboxes are also family cars for getting to point a and b. The times change in the era and I feel like that's what some people forget about when they think of the past.
@@TheNova801 Good points, but many remembered "winners" such as Vega and Chevette, so they went to Toyota and Honda, and many did not look back. If you notice Corolla and Civic still around, the others, nope
@@toyoscio that's what makes the nova fun in the first place how few there are that's left, and since people hardly know what they're like it makes it better, learning to work on these cars efficiently takes years, carburetors, emmision hose routings, bad vacuum switches when you think it's good lol. If you learn to work on these cars and can feel the tiny problems by just driving it, and know how to fix those tiny problems it can feel just as good as a more modern car. I love these things
They were really good cars that made the case that a GM plant could produce a high quality, reliable product.
A Toyova! Haven't seen those in awhile.
Toylet! I had one, it was a great car and we sold it too soon...
man makes me miss mine.....i want a red hatchback at some point and to do a swap with a 4age and c51 transmission
Mr3wheeledbike I have one
I had a white 1986 Nova/Carolla hatchback.Put over 300,000 on her before she died.
1. Radio is stock.
2. A rear-wheel drive Toyota truck engine will not mount in a front wheel drive car.
Do your research kid

Makes me sad seeing how badass the Nova was in the sixties and early seventies and then they turned into this. Sad sad sad

@@TheNova801 The Novas of the 60s early 70s were sporty with big V-8s. Chevy tried to capture a little of that magic with the 88 Twin Cam

If you are selling it, contact me :)
I used to have a red hatchback. Bulletproof motor and transmissions but it was definitely slow as hell.
Updated to an AE86
Check out my newest 86 Nova video, that one is a red hatch.
LOL, but it could tow as well
