    A quick note worth mentioning is that this technique only works if the Instance Mode of the cloner object is set to "Instance" (which is the default mode). If it's set to Render Instance or Multi-Instance it wont pick up the different colors. Cheers

      hey, I'm don't see the ON option in Color Mode, only OFF, Effector Color, Custom Color and Fields Color. any idea what to do? i'm using R21. thanks.

      @@artkiko4460 in the R21 version is called "Effector Color". With the random selected go under Parameter>Color>Color Mode:Effector Color"

    hey man thanks for the great tut. i have similar scene and everything is set the way you did and i can see different colors in the viewport but when i hit render all the clones disappear :(
    any ideas ?

      I had the same problem I just ended up following a different tutorial since here is not too clear about how to apply the effectors.

    Question, how do you export this multi shader into a game engine like unity?

      I don't work with game engines so i'm not 100% sure, but i'm guessing you can't - but to get this animated mesh into Unity etc you would have to bake the animation to an FBX file (or something similar) - you would probably have to bake the material as well.
