This is the best real-time fluids system I've ever seen, I'm surprised how other game engines try to create these types of systems to run at 30 fps with a 3080, but GWater shows how all this can work on such an old engine as is Source, my congratulations to Meetric
Well other engines probably have higher resolution water (smaller particles). But bigger ones are still good, especially to play with IN GMOD.
It uses Nvidia physx flex which is open source
30fps locked physics is a symptom of consoles having less water.
It's the sheer happiness that gets me going when necros plays around with virtual liquids.
The lava looks more like honey when you spew some on the beams

Gwater 2 will be released for free on the Steam Workshop in Q1 2025. It's in the descriptions of Meetric's videos
if you wanna make the water look as real as possible, use these settings:
-Cohesion: 0.20 or 0.15
-Fluid Rest Distance (Advanced Parameters Tab): 0.55
-Anisotropy Min(Visuals Tab): 0.00
-Iterations(Performance Tab): 5
-Depth Fix: On
-Blur Passes: 4

if i remember correctly, GWater 2 renders the water seperately from the game so instead of your game lagging like hell, the water will lag instead so you keep good frames
