Did you fast for your last cholesterol test?

I did a 3hour and a 15h fast. My Trigs lowered a LOT with the longer fast, but my LDL increased a LOT. All other factors equal. I'm strict healthy LCHF. 53 male.

I think ethnicity is important. If you are brown like me, don't listen to his advice. Get checked every year from when you're 18. I also disagree with him that triglyeride numbers are not that important, I consider it the most important metric tbh.

Hey Doctor? I was wondering can I use extra Virgin olive to make salmon on a pan? I realized for two years I’ve been cooking with extra Virgin olive oil because I was ignorant about the smoke limit. Now I want to know should I bake the salmon or pan sear? If so, what oil is healthy to use for the salmon? I have high cholesterol and I’m trying to lower the LDL. I heard refined olive oil is really bad for our health. Please give me clarity on this issue. Which healthy oil should I use to pan sear Wild Caught Salmon?

EVOO is best for dressings and does not warrent heating up in any way, ever. Don't cook with it. Use a little olive oil.

Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil / coconut oil . A healthy high heat oil I would recommend is avocado oil . Ghee and butter

It's a mistake to look at LDL by itself! Your high levels might not be a problem; if you have high HDL and low triglycerides then a high LDL or total cholesterol are not a problem. You can also get your LDL details looked into more closely - there are subcategories of LDL and it really matters which category most of your LDLs fall into.

It's a mistake to look at a simple LDL number by itself and consider it a problem. For instance, if you have high HDL and low trigs, it doesn't matter whether your LDL is high or low, as far as risk factors. The 'good cholesterol' and 'bad cholesterol' is outdated information, just like the demonization of saturated fat. To learn scientific details about cholesterol, one good source is cholesterolcode.com/

Nice video. Trying to find one about me.
My HDL 15 above minimum, my Triglycerides are very low, but my LDL is high 169. Every video is talking about high LDL are those on keto, which isn't me.
My diet is balanced low calorie. I'm trying to get a more advanced lipid test. I have the family history part. Nothing else, save sleep. Scored 2.6%
