      His question isn't "what is a gun." Could possibly disbelief. This might not be his first exposure to people getting shot, but it might be, and I dunno. And even if it isn't, he could be asking, "did they shoot the car up? Did they shoot up the people inside? Or just shoot at the car; did the people make it out?" Because that may not be what he said, but most people don't communicate perfectly. Just saying.

    What I love most about Jason is that, in interviews, he tells the truth but also said "But I can't blame anyone for thinking that" or "If I saw that person I'd say that too". Like he knows how to deal with criticism even when it's false.

      He seems like a sincere and genuinely nice guy, who was just in over his head to the extreme. I think that happens a lot with people who try to make large differences, they mean well but end up overwhelmed because they didn’t realize the full extent of what they’re trying to achieve

    • @Merthalophor
      @Merthalophor 4 роки тому +463

      @@guaceldono7231 That's exactly it. They go in with all they got, trying to do as much good as possible, because who would oppose someone trying to be good? The intentions are pure. But once a campaign catches on and people start throwing money at you, just having good intentions isn't enough anymore, with people's money in your hands you now have to deliver results, even if you never asked for that responsibility. I guess that can be crushing, especially if you raise 100x more than what you planned to. Jason never claimed to be able to manage 20 million bucks, yet that's what was expected of him.

    So that musical video is of the song "We Are Here to Change the World"...by Michael Jackson. What makes this song interesting, however, is that it made its debut in the Disney attraction "Captain EO", which starred Jackson as a space captain battling against an evil space queen, eventually defeating her and winning her over with the power of music and dance. The bit in this video where Jason and his friends zap their classmates with colorful energy to turn them into backup dancers is a direct reference to Captain EO, where Jackson uses beams of light to turn the queen's henchmen into colorful backup dancers. All this to say: Joseph Kony can now be indirectly linked to Disney.

    A year late, but I want to say something about the Mental Hospital. I've been to at least a treatment center sort of place, where they normally throw them for maybe two weeks. Worst week of my life. I get nightmares every so often. It wasn't even somewhere where the people were the problem. It was the sheer just surreal state of being there. You're watched 24/7, someone checks on your every 15 minutes when you sleep. Wake up at this time, eat at this time, go to weird group sessions. Today we're thinking about how to feel happy. Today we talk about how drugs work, sort of. The 'windows' are made of like a plastic you can't kill yourself with, at least easily. You basically just get the clothes you came in with and you can ask for a track suit at most. We started with 5 television channels, ended with 2. Trump got elected while I was in there... was weird. I'd imagine prison is *WAY* worse, but when you're wanting to kill yourself and you're forced to not want that. Forced to tell them what they want to hear so you can leave, on the whims of someone else. The law says you are a danger to yourself, so now they get to take you away and do what they want, when you've essentially done nothing wrong, and then foot the 2,000 dollar bill and end with the same state you started with... I'm not sure where I was going with that. It's bad.

      went to the childrens psych ward for a week. I actually kind of liked it, friends and stuff, doing things to take my mind off of everything else. It was a lot like a low security prison for me but it was actually a nice break, although I guess i'm not the kind of people that go back there 6 times over.

    Jason starting to hallucinate that films were "speaking directly to him" and various voices is not too "weird" of a consequence considering that, literally overnight, huge swathes of media entities began covering him directly, and people who were complete and total strangers suddenly went out of their way to converse with him at every turn. I'm sure most if not all of us here would end up breaking in the same way. Not to downplay the severity of what was happening to Jason, but to emphasize that nothing needed to be "wrong" or "bad" about Jason for a breakdown to have happened.

    In the song they say"we are here to change the world" but then later they say "we are here to end the war" - This is on a creative commons license. Meaning that someone could sample this and alter it to "We are here to end the world" and make a fucking fire track with that as the backing vocal. I sure wish I was a music guy, I would do it myself.

    The whole "We need to arrange the books in my house in chronological order" thing was probably some attempt by him to see if he can notice any trends in the way humanity behaves to see if there's a pattern to the societies described in the books he owns so he can predict what the next generation will behave like.
    Little does he know that, theres already a theory about that and its fully fleshed out and is easily googled.
