Currently touring Japan. I’ll keep eyes peeled for more Tesla ads. They definitely need it here (only seen 3 Teslas total in a week). Seen 100+ ioniq 5s with more than half as cabs
Were they right hand drive?
Greetings from SoCal…..surrounded by thousands of Tesla, hundreds in my small neighborhood😎
@@ruftime didn’t look inside - most were at a distance
Anything the critics can find wrong with the CT they will amplify. I'd rather Tesla take longer to get any small wrinkles ironed out than rush it's launch. It's a ground up design and it's got a lot riding on it.
Unsterstand what you saying, but rushing it? It's 2 or 3 years behind schedule
@@craighermle7727 There was a schedule? It is new, it is done when they say it's done. Schedules are for when other people are paying. Like SLS.
Me too…I own 2 model 3’s with vin’s under 10k and I can tell you that the cars were not complete and ready for the market, and the same goes for my model Y with a vin under 11k. Don’t get me wrong I love all my Tesla’s and you would have kill me to get them from me, but sometimes as I see the refresh I can’t help but think well this is the car Elon really wanted to give the world
"Anything the critics can find wrong with the CT they will amplify. I'd rather Tesla take longer to get any small wrinkles ironed out than rush it's launch. It's a ground up design and it's got a lot riding on it."
Tesla took that route.
@@craighermle7727 "from the day the design director first puts his idea on paper to the day Job 1 or first customer car is produced it will take 5 - 10 years. Honestly speaking, I’ve never worked on any project that has run on the projected time plan. Honestly never. Doesn't matter how many cars, if it’s 100 McLarens or 30,000 Land Rovers. No project I’ve worked on ever ran as per the plan. It was always delayed."

An ad campaign that educates prospective customers, based on what Tesla stands for as well as a tone, manner and style that expresses Tesla’s unique personality
That ad is great because it's targeted to a higher income level group, and they can directly monitor engagement through surveillance cameras and probably eye tracking AI that billboards like that sometimes have lol
Tracking would happen through seeing how many people used the QR code and maybe any increase in traffic to their site in the Japan area but yeah it’s a good way to test. And it’s just what we have proof of, they’re likely testing ads in many other places and we just don’t know.
Meanwhile , Looocid motors spends $$$ Millions on ADS , and their cars still not Selling.........lol.
Thank you Rob🚘⚡️🔋
Nice coverage and thank you Rob, ❤
My wife lives in Japan and showed these advertisements to me. I saw them two weeks ago. It translates to “From January to March, It’s the world’s best seller”. I have the picture if you want to message me.
Thanks Rob
There are two Tokyo airports: Haneda and Narita. Which one had the advertisements?
Will be interesting to see how the implementation of Cybetruck/Next Gen 48 volt architecture impacts legacy car companies and how analysts evaluate the change?
GAME OVER
Good stuff
Thank you, Rob (o:
FSD is the ultimate feature!
Rob that ad in Haneda airport is at least 3 months old. I sent it to few Tesla fan folks on X on July 26, but I guess it was missed. All that to say, this is not a new add. I'll forward it to you on X
Tesla's Tokyo Airport AD was there when this summer I visited. Keep in mind, there are 2 Airport. I saw it in Haneta. I'm not sure for Narita.
Hi Rob, thanks for doing this video and every video.
I believe Tesla will produce the Cybertruck faster than any other car, once they fully figure it out and deliveries will ramp extremely fast
There are Tesla adds at Buckees in TX ... I saw it in Ellie in Space youtube report today.
@Rob, you should share your thoughts on the Rivian production ramp and profitability compared to when Tesla was at a similar scale. Some interesting arguments there.
Why not just announce a cybertruck event date? Not like they are going to Osborne their other pick-up model.
Likely they’re not ready…
@@salczarYes, not ready to begin production. Once production begins, deliveries will too.
Dec 31st 23:59 😉
Agree, but appears to me that they are still at risk of delaying production ramp further. Until they mitigate or otherwise minimize that risk, they will stay mum. In the meantime, it appears they are op testing production candidates in various environments to sort out the issues. Parallel to testing, they are advertising “on the road” so to speak. There’s a chance they are increasing orders with that effort.
2million preorders probably want to make sure you can make them quick so you don't lose a lot of orders.
WAIT ! One of the building being constructed at Giga Austin is the "Die shop". What if it is for DOJO ? "Die" is a synonym of "integrated circuit" !
Late 2023 Cyber truck gets released. 9 months later Cyber becomes #1 Girls and boys names.
As a millenial who grew up online I always knew of cyber as sth else😅
Where is Cybertruck stainless steel coming from?
Going to visit Japan in about a month from now. Do you know if it‘s narita Airport or haneda airport?
🎶I've been...Cyber Struck !
It’s amazing how ignorant these analysts are. Their bias really shows. That’s why we have Rob.
👍
Tesla doesn’t need large high cost advertising at this point. We should see clear evidence in Q4 of that when they break 500,000.
for Renault to spin off the Electrified 'replacement' is brilliant, I'm glad Ford did it, the demise of the ICE product line could drag down a rapidly increasing profit after the initial pain of ramp.
"for Renault to spin off the Electrified 'replacement' is brilliant, I'm glad Ford did it, the demise of the ICE product line could drag down a rapidly increasing profit after the initial pain of ramp."
It's probably also a way to get more agile when it comes to hiring and firing employees.
Tesla Berlin helps Autoworker to get a job when legacy falter. There should be a similar effort in Japan. It will also help national pride with locally produced Teslas.
fyi There is no airport named ‘Tokyo International’ Does anyone know if the Tesla Ad was at Narita (primary) or Haneda (secondary) airport?
Haneda. No guarantee that wikipedia is correct, but it says "Haneda Airport, officially Tokyo International Airport, and sometimes referred to as Tokyo Haneda Airport or Haneda International Airport, is one of two international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area, the other one being Narita International Airport"
Dear Rob
Can you work out the cost of producing 1 unit of solar energy using solar panels and the cost of storing the same unit of energy overnight using storage. I was told that the storage cost is many times of the production cost. Is this correct?
Rob, can you post your videos daily on X too?
Yeah. I’d like a tesla home battery in NL but tesla doesn’t sell them here 😒
Booya 700th like 😂👍
How many more companies can be named after electricity-related S.I. units? Coulomb probably isn't going to get a unicorn valuation.
I don't see why. Coulomb sounds as tech. and cool as many things, and better than Xpeng, NIO, or Lucid by a mile.
It's about execution, quality, and mainly, the ability to SERIOUSLY scale -- far more than a name.
Look how much Tesla superchargers are loved -- it's because they're so GOOD, re fast and reliable and scaling rapidly -- not some dumb marketing thing.
Unlike the UAW, Unifor is not comprised only of auto workers. Unifor is Canada's largest union in many different sectors.

Tesla's Worker Safety is Top of the Class in when compared to any in and outside of their industry. Trying to besmirch the Tesla name when SAFETY IS JOB ONE AT TESLA is a low blow but not surprising for a group that is probably struggling to stay relevant and increase their membership count!
Modern products have too many “features.” I look for how well, efficiently, elegantly and reliably the central purpose is implemented. What used to be called quality. Tesla exudes quality, which is what matters.
Quality maybe from manufacturing and investing standpoint, but from a standpoint of being objective on the vehicles themselves I wouldn’t say Tesla gets top scores there. Rather that has been a hindrance than a selling point.
PULS acquires Wiferion’s wireless charging business. I haven't heard anyone report this yet.
It looks like Wiferion’s engineers will remain at Tesla; they are not included in the deal.
The recent data appears to indicate that production will be slow in Q4 as well. IN Austin there are barely any cars in the delivery lots, CHina has barely any registrations (although experts might go on), Mexico is dormant, so we might see analyst price reductions in anticipation of bad numbers for Q4 as the comparison to previous Q4's could be hard to surpass. 1.8 million seems to get farther and farther out of reach.
Rob, my hypothesis is that Tesla has dropped prices for 3&Y to keep sales going and accommodate a smooth entry of the revamped versions. What do you think?
Ummm, TESLA model 3/Y , essentially have UNLIMITED Demand , it just Depends on how low they can Sell for.
you can buy a NEW model 3/Y for Cheaper than a used Tesla model.
though , they are still some used 2014 $35,000 model S Avaliable.
The best advertising T E S L A could do would be to put in more Superchargers in prominent places. It would get out their name whilst allaying the range anxiety that keeps potential buyers away from EVs
I knew this giga in Germany was going to be a problem. Germans are very proud people and until Tesla, it was considered the car capital of the world.
It seems they are trying to make it an issue and I don’t want to speculate to much but why do they do this at tesla and not the other car companies there? I’ll read up but it seems they are feeling the pain and they don’t like the foreigner!
Let's not forget the union is a shareholder in VW...
"I knew this giga in Germany was going to be a problem. Germans are very proud people and until Tesla, it was considered the car capital of the world."
With Tesla it can remain so. It would have been worse for Germany if Tesla chose another country.
@@yourcrazybear true but I don't think they see it that way. I think their pride is around German egineering, but the engineering at Tesla is on completely different level.
@@spacecowboy2483 I did not know that. That's a problem.
Renault is the smartest of the legacy auto.. spinning off the Ev division is the smart play by far.. but boy are they far behind…
the CMF-ev platform is CRAPPY, it underpins the MEGANE and ARYIA.

UA-cam showed me an ad for BMW…
Hopefully Toyota will have an EV to put their new batteries in by 2025. 😂
yes, but it will be made by BYD.........lol.
Who is the best Tesla analyst?
Alexander Potter, an analyst at the research firm Piper Sandler, holds the distinction of being the Most Accurate and Profitable analyst for Tesla stock over a one-year time frame.Aug 14, 2023
Rob, I hope you recover quickly tomorrow morning when you get "pee pee eye". We need your daily videos! Thanks!
Polestar is a better stock because it's still in the early stages
So yeah, toyota spend 10 year telling us to wait for their upcoming ssd batery that is always 3 year away, and then finaly when they start BEV production in usa, they put lg nmc pounch that been flamming in gm bolt...
Hi Rob Meowrer, 🐈
Less than 1 month ago, UBS raised its Tesla price target from 270 to 290. Now (less than a month later) they lower it from 290 to 266. A little market manipulation going on!!!
Anyone trusting such outfits is crazy anyway. They're just guessers who also try to move some stock (in or out) of the mother ship.
Why would Toyota sign a deal with LG when they have their own solid state batteries?? 🤣🤣
Toyota gets their SSB from NIKOLA .........lol.
EMF is King. If you don't have EMF what have you got? Nothing !!!!
BBO is better.
Wall Street "analysts" 😂
Anyone can make rockets that land for reuse…ffs
1:10) Jeffries’ opinion is framed negatively…. and psychotically!
I live in Tokyo and I can only see a Tesla vehicle every two days, in average. Most Japanese don’t know the existence of Tesla. More advertisement is needed🤡🤡
NONE of the Stock pickup trucks and do BAJA, Cybertruck does it without batting an Eyelash.
RIP to Legacy pickup trucks.
The trends and the news for Tesla are basically all good. If only Elon hadn't chosen to waste time, effort and money on Twitter! We'd all be better off.
Tesla community should have a competition to make a few great, entertaining advertisements. Then we can share them on all of our social media. Stop waiting for Tesla to do it.
The Japanese in general think American made cars are trash, the OEMs pulled out years ago. It is going to be a hard sell to get into the Japanese car market.
JDM cars , cannot compete with TESLA.
Tesla needs to hire a shit-hot ad agency to produce the sort of communication strategy translated into the sort of creative campaign that delivers an insane ROI
DELETE ad Agency.
Jeffries analyst are ridiculous. How long would it take the competition to build their own batteries to be price competitive? How about FSD? Or manufacturing simplification with Giga casting? At least 10 years time and massive investments? Not a chance…
Ford spends $500 to $600 per vehicle on advertising… that is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard… that is a cost the consumer pays for… to think if I buy a ford I then finance that 600$ for the next 3-6 years disgusts me and makes me never want to buy a vehicle that uses that extent of advertising

Why do you care how much companies advertise? What should matter is things like quality and customer experience.
Why doesn’t the market get that Tesla is more than just a car company. This is always frustrating
First again. Woot woot
I was here before you but I've got way too much pride to act like such a child.

@@Cybertruck1000 It's not "fun" it's banal self-aggrandizement and it's prevalent, everywhere. You lack discernment in this instance.
That’s not how you pronounce Ampere 😂
Same old argument, new phrasing from Jeffries. "The big boys are coming."
Well, they are, when it comes to electrification. But they lag badly. Most of their BEV offerings just aren't very good and are priced too high.
Even less true: they are attempting to adopt certain Tesla-developed production innovations. But they're even further behind and can't turn their efforts into positive margins. Nor will they, on any foreseeable timeline.
Where the argument falls completely apart is in smart cars. They can't do it. That is an innovation they can't even theoretically match without sourcing hardware and software from Tesla.
Tte truth is, the big boys can't keep up. At all.
Jeffries' analysis is painfully superficial.
And they're ignoring innovations in energy, Optimus, and lots else.
Toyota is getting into bed with LG Energy to make... pouch cells? Clueless. Utterly clueless.
Only profound ignorance on Wall Street could perceive any threat to Tesla at all from these guys.
Thanks for your reporting, Rob.
@Urgelt If copying giga casting and unboxed method from Tesla, then why not Blade batteries from BYD?
"Toyota is getting into bed with LG Energy to make... pouch cells? Clueless. Utterly clueless."
That's a common theme with Toyota nowadays. They may as well team up with Nikola if they want to go all in. 😅
"Only profound ignorance on Wall Street could perceive any threat to Tesla at all from these guys."
Most of the so called analysts have shown a great deal of ignorance even since Tesla started producing cars. It's a little surprising that this kind of behavior is still around.
@@brilanto there is so much innovation they are *not* imitating, it's hard to know where to start.
Name one automaker who has eliminated 12-volt lead-acid batteries. Hint: it's Tesla. Only Tesla. Their low-voltage battery should last for the life of the car.
A few halting attempts at heat pumps are out there, but nothing that ties all of the heating and cooling requirements of a car into a single system, as Tesla has done.
In the interests of brevity, I won't go on.
SMH.
Tomorrow, TESLA will drop 5%
