You don’t pay the licence fee simple. What staggers me immensely is that people pay the licence fee and they are giving money to people that hate them. The BBC detest people that voted Brexit and you give them £157. Sod that.
That's it mate. Sit back and watch in the comfort of you're own home. The fabric of society/reality is being torn apart but im sure there's some kinda grown up like hitchens on the case.
For the same reason that doctors on Brandnewtube are not invited. They know what the truth is but sadly TR may be a bit nervous especially when BNT tells the truth about vaccines. I must admit that I don't understand the vaccine issue. All a vaccine does is reduce the symptons of the disease that you're vaccinating against. It won't stop you catching Covid or passing it on, so what's the point of taking a vaccine now when Covid is all ready around us. The impression given by the opposition is that this vaccine is a drug that will kill off the virus-which it won't of course. The facts are that millions of people are given vaccines without anyone really having any idea what the long-term consequences may be.
dunno if they're doing the same in the UK, but when they calculate inflation in the USA, they don't count FOOD or GAS for the car....they're too volatile (that means that the prices have skyrocketed.) iN cANADA they pretend that inflation isn't really happening (they DO include food there) but they're ignoring the fact that the packages are getting smaller and smaller, even though they're the same price.
Peter is quite wrong about the desirability of a publicly funded broadcaster. NPR in the US hangs pretty far left too. Impartiality is simply not possible, and is of course not at all quantifiable.
It is 100% possible, don't be so close minded. I'd rather have a somewhat impartial broadcaster than jump on the cult bandwagon of 'Defund the BBC' and so only have very left wing and very right wing channels brainwashing everyone.
Yes impartiality is not possible, people will always have a political leaning. But if I don't like a private broadcaster I don't have to watch them and therefore I don't have to pay for the service. I'm happy for a private broadcaster to have a political leaning that I don't share as long as I don't have to fund them. If their politics is not beneficial to the majority then they will be ignored and get smaller. But the BBC gets a fee even if you don't watch their channel. They have rigged the game so they can never lose. The only option is to stop watching all content as it is transmitted. Only then can you forego the fee.
I've stopped watching TV BBC, ITV Chanel 4, Sky, Netflix, Amazon all of it brainwashing propaganda, Cancelled my TV licence , I now watch UTube Premium

the BBC doesn't need to look at their policies...they need to look at their souls. AND stop thinking that they're BETTER than everyone else....they're not.
The government won't dismantle the BBC particularly after these last 15 months, it's the perfect platform for governemnt propaganda, sponsored, endorsed & unquestioned
UA-cam are haemorrhaging viewers and ramping up the ads (three in the first 10 minutes). Rumble are gaining so many creators kicked off this platform. 😊
Yes. It has gotten to the point I can't watch many things on YT any more. YT also does what the TV stations do (or used to) - it makes the ads quite a lot louder than the shows they constantly interrupt.
They use the CPI instead of the RPI because the CPI does not contain house prices. Blair and Brown did that. When a component of the inflation measure goes up in price they substitute it for something similar that has not - swap out apples for bananas.
I complained several times about the beebs lack of coverage of the anti lockdown protests, comparing there coverage of BLM, environmental and later Palestinian protests, very negative response on this issue as they obviously did not want the rest of the country to know about them as they agreed with full lockdown.
Vaccines aren’t inherently bad. To believe that they are wholly wrong is as bad as sitting in your car on your own with a mask on, it’s just the other side of the spectrum. Life isn’t black and white

That would depend on the ethos of the new broadcaster. The BBC will only employ leftwing indoctrinated 'reporters/broadcasters because the BBC is a leftwing biased broadcaster.
Both of these hypocrites are, or have been, happy to work for newspapers that are regulated by IPSO, an organisation entirely populated by newspaper editors. They have the brass neck to criticise the BBC for marking their own homework, while they squealed like rats in a trap when the Leveson Inquiry called for a more independent regulator for the press.
nonetheless the BBC especially the news reporting is garbage and one can only think it's not because they are thick but because they have no journalistic integrity to report what is important in a meaningful way
@@TheStarblaster indeed, but exactly the same should be said of all news and media organisations. The only reason that Graham and Hitchens hate the BBC is because it cannot be bought by a right wing oligarch, and bent to serve the cause of neoliberal capitalism. The BBC has had many opportunities to put its house in order and has consistently refused to do so. They need to be broken up.
The first response to opening a complaint is "don't complain unless absolutely necessary". How arrogant.! They're wearing the clothes of the NHS!
HRH Prince William is quite right to question the BBC's approach to interviewing his mother. Bashir should be thrown out.
Time to check in with Hitchens and Graham with a coffee again, one of the few COVID-19 rituals worth keeping.
