i like the improvements in graphics, they really seem to serve well
I love the skype sound in the end - always a sign of good quality
This is an amazing minecraft texturepack
It appears to use minecraft classic water physics, 3D characters without properly rendered lighting that could have come straight out of kinect, and blocks textures with visible seams.
About time someone made a game like this for the console. Can't wait to see what he does with it.

I was thinking the same thing. You can get a similar look by downloading any number of texture packs that are available for Minecraft.
why would you give something so mundane such ludicrously epic music?
The video is so informative, now I know that Fortresscraft is just a Minecraft Texturepack.

Infiniminer inspired Notch to start working on Minecraft several weeks after it was "discontinued".
i thought this was a kick ass texture pack for minecraft till i saw the thing for xbox live xD
At first, I thought this was Minecraft with just a really good texture pack and a few mods. But then, I noticed it wasn't.
Looks great, I'm definitely buying this one.
This doesnt actually look half bad. Finally I can play a game similar to minecraft while talking and interacting with friends.
Notch did not have any plans for releasing minecraft on the Xbox so hats off to this guy for making it happen!
0:53 drove me nuts, the skype noise made me think my skype was going off.
This looks like Minecraft if Notch actually updated his game more than going on vacation.
I welcome the addition of "cubic space sandbox" as the newest video game genre. if you look at the infinimine videos the first thing that jumps out is that it pretty much looks like it was a pre-release of minecraft, they were very similar too, and notch also cites dungeon keeper as another inspiration / influence.
to me this looks like fortresscraft took allthe wrong lessons from minecraft and will fail on it's own, no need to grab pitchforks, but still grab torches in case of creepers.
The best part of this video is the music
that water is enough to get me to buy it

i heard this from PKA (PainKillerAlready) this looks a lot like minecraft. i like the fact that its just like a build game and makes it easier

@MineIts I know that it's a different game, I was only trying to explain the difference between making a game based on ides from a game no longer developed and making a game based on a game that haven't even been properly released yet.
He did get more ideas than making blocks from infiniminer thought. Both are mining and building games. But that's it. The gameplay is totaly different, thats for sure.
@superstrok99 Infiniminer is a multiplayer competitive game in which one team tries to mine faster and more than the other team in a set time limit.
In all honesty, i think this game will turn out good. The developer has a thread on the Minecraft Forums (minecraftforum [dot] net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=163285), and it looks like he's planning on adding enough unique features to distinguish it from MC.
I actually like that only the world is build of blocks, not the player / the pickaxe whatever.
Just think about: Gun, Godfather and others are all evolutions from GTA.

@BraydeNarwhal There's no Minecraft for Xbox (not when this game was made) so the guy took the liberty to make it and did a good job doing it.
I hate when people overlook the amount of work that goes into these games.
I'm a HUGE Minecraft fan, but even I can see that this is fine. It's on a completely different platform (for now at least, but Notch won't have much competition, no offense), using it's own code, and not claiming to be original. I honestly don't buy that there are differences beyond a stable Multiplayer component, but I still think it will be great in it's own regard. Can't wait to get it.

@OverTheTaco I wouldnt really have a problem with it if it actually improved anything, but from what I've seen and heard, it devolves. Might be too early to judge, but this just doesnt look like its going to actually add on to minecraft's abilities.

@BaBomb183 never tryed it, but heard good things about it. Maybe one day they'll open up indie games to the whole xbox live network, but i dont see microsoft doing any time soon.

I read somewhere that this game will be released on march 4th. Apparently it will be split up into 7 chapters, 1 being creative, 2 adding in crafting, 3 adding in life (Pigs and friendly mobs?), 4 adding in machinery, 5 adding in minions (hostile mobs?), 6 adding in PVP, and 7 adding in fortress assault (whatever that is), but the new chapters will be released every four to six weeks! I dont know if this is 100% true, but go to joystiq.com to find out...
notch should use some of that 15$ x 2mill from the minecraft preorders to buy this and rename it minecraft hd.

I think it's fine. If notch wanted to make this he already would have tried. He also said he dowdy have a problem with anyone trying to do something similar.
Honestly, Im just excited i get to play minecraft on my xbox, I dont really care if they ripped off of minecraft! I hope it has multiplayer though...

@flamenod The developers asked Notch for permission to creat Fortresscraft. He said yes, as Mincraft itself is a copy of another game.
@montagecrew its the other way around medal of honor came out before call of duty and the two guys that made infinity ward start of making a medal of honor game but for got which one though
