To be perfectly fair I found this rendition to be MUCH better at 1.25x speed.

This is killer. I spent a gigantic portion of my young life playing Lufia. I still break it out at least once every year or two and finish it again.

Yeah it was nice, but if you put it at 1,25 speed, THIS IS HELLA GOOD

Honestly, the missing percussion doesn't matter since I can just add it myself while watching this. And I like the slower pace, makes it more unique.

It's their rendition. It's what they thought the song should've sounded like. So your opinion doesn't matter.

Good job guys! You've got the lion's share of the songs down and it's okay if it's a little slower than game speed. Maxim, Selan, Tia, Lexis, Dekar, Guy, and Artea are smiling somewhere. :)

@luminozero There's a pretty wide gap between student and professional when it comes to music. Unfortunately, when you're in the student phase it's easy to become oblivious to the actual quality of professional music.

Because I didn't notice the date, >.>. Also, I don't like people negatively commenting others for their work, or THEIR rendition.

@Paladinknight50 Forgive my late reply but I am an arranger for a US Army band and I have used several video game themes, music that has been performed by paid professional musicians.

@Vince511 I dunno why you got blasted so hard. You said the truth, and in a polite way. People really need to learn how to accept constructive criticism. I appreciate what the poster tried to do, but facts are facts, the way it sounds it very...without energy. It sort of loses the fire the original has. Not to mention there are a few spots where the dissonance makes me wince.

These battle themes are very rock-driven, and the way they were performed here was 4 and a half minutes of "are we playing a ballad or a battle theme?" Total identity crisis. I admire your group's efforts to re-create Shiono-san's music and I am a huge advocate of the performance of video game music, but there just isn't anything going on here in terms of musicality. It lacks definition.

@Paladinknight50 Um, actually not. Never met the guy before. You don't need to be friends with someone to agree with them. Though I guess taking criticism gracefully isn't a popular trait.
At the very least I listened to and analyzed the piece. I understand it may have been difficult to make, but that doesn't make something 'good'. Bravo for putting your time into it Ulti, but it is still a little lacking.
