Holy, now that i watched a few of the videos going around Alk's warrior had shitton of damage compared to most Executioner's fight
slow attacks, should do like way more dmg than fast attacks in this game. Feels good man.
These are the kind of strategies I don't mind blasting through the game because it's so cool to watch the mechanical skill being displayed to pull off cool shit like this with all the cool tools available in poe2. This games gonna be glorious

Attack while moving is going to put this at the top of my list for games. I love that type of gameplay. I am so excited for this to come out.
I legit can't get into FF14/WoW after playing Guild Wars 2 where you can move while attacking and can/have to dodge attacks, static combat is really a thing I avoid as much as I can now

@@Overphased You can't generally cast while moving in GW2 in my experience, though it has been a while since I last played. But there were plenty of abilities with cast times that locked you in place or forced specific movement.

The game looks stunning, has a lot of new interesting flavor and additions compared to the original. I am so much looking forward to playing this o full release. Sadly that will most likely not be until 2025, but waiting for a great game is more than worth it. Thanks for sharing the footage :)

This game looks more like Diablo than Diablo III and Diablo IV ever looked. I really get huge nostalgic feeling of Diablo II.

Sort of a fair amount of back-and-forth mouse movement there.
Makes me wonder if Mouse-movement should also incorporate Z-targeting.
E.g. mouse on an enemy, hold a button to stay locked on to that enemy, and that frees your mouse up purely for movement.
The trade-off being that Skills that include movement will be influenced by the locked-on enemy, and not your cursor.

Feels like if they're going down this route the enemy attack speed should be lowered so that they stay in place for a punish for much longer. Let them come, dodge out and punish or have a consistent way to root them in place.

Nah they haven't but it has been mentioned like once or twice awhile back. Its interesting because it limits twink leveling unless there will be an astramentis equivalent.

i feel like they are def going to tune down some of the mob damage. Your campaign is prob a bit too difficult if Ben is dying frequently. (a lot of content creators said they were dying repeatedly as well) Can't wait to see more endgame stuff, I'm dying to see what an even somewhat optimized build looks like. I've been kind of bored with the PoE2 updates, but everyone who has played it has said it's amazing so I'm optimistic. Does anyone know if this thing will even be out by 2026?
@Ben, this is very important to me. Did you move just using the mouse as in poe1 or via WSAD? I'm one handed only so every game I have I only play on a mouse with multiple buttons (razer naga 2014 left handed). Because when I look at those gameplays from poe2 and how difficult the bosses seem, I get the feeling that this is soul'like gameplay. Unfortunately on the mouse I can't set the WSAD (I can because the buttons are programmable) to play comfortably; it's unfeasible. I'm asking you specifically because someone suggested to me that you played without using the WSAD. So... Is it possible to play poe2 pleasantly using only the mouse for movement (as in poe1)?

Idk man, if I can get 50 builds out of this game in gonna have fun all 50 times. Really for me, the deciding factor is itemization and build making. Combat could be good but without substance it's pointless. Personally like the new combat direction as well.
@paragonnight437 That is one arena it is highly unlikely the game will be lacking. They have over a decade of content to pull from in poe 1. Don't be worried about depth and breath. Sure, it will not all be added in or all at once, but it will be larger than any other game release.
I don't worry about that stuff personally. I'm a grinder tho and I'll sit on the same build for 2 to 3 months. So I worry I'm not the target audience even though I've been the target audience up to this point. Not fair of me, I know just how I feel.
@@paragonnight437 I come at it from the other direction, the builds may be intricate with nice synergies, but who cares if the actual combat is boring?

Yep, looks like zoomer playstyle is gone, poe2 pacing seems closer to diablo than poe1. Not my cup of tea either.

I prefer smashing the fodder as well. This is only the early acts so I don't mind a little resistance there before we start scaling. I think eventually we will smash the fodder but continue to have to outplay bosses which would be my preference. Smashing bossess is equally satisfying as outplaying them, but since you already (presumably) smash the fodder, having to outplay them adds a little variety and spice to the gameplay. I have high hopes and I think the game looks very promising!!

Love how the bosses almost have a soulsborne feeling to them. Dark, gritty, weird lore, lots of moves requiring you to learn the telegraphs.

sad thing that turns out they making poe 2 into isometric dark souls but with giga random loot and item scarcity 5 times worse than in ruthless and ofc game primary audience are console players and whole movement flow remade to be controller/wasd favorable, basically its no longer the game i was waiting for(modernized diablo2, not fockin LoD, diablo2), 100% i wasnt waiting for darksouls with insufferable randomization
Attack while moving is basically a necessity with how few tools your character has and how much faster everything else is than you are. Looks like packs are already tracking you before they're on screen.
I'm really not sold on the boss philosophy. Not only the fight duration, but if the bosses are hitting Ben most of the time, then they're hitting me almost all the time. Obviously there will be a practice component and the launch product might be a bit toned down. I haven't played it, but the game looks more unfair than fun.
It's more like Dark Souls in the isometric view than PoE.
Let's hope they adjusted the difficulty to suit the professional players invited, otherwise, there will be a lot of frustration. LOL

Bad take Poe 1 is SUPER skill based, just not mechanical skill most of the gap between good players and bad ones are a result of experience and game knowledge. Good luck crafting mirror gear without knowing crafting theory for every single crafting league mechanic, same with being able to make a character tanky without knowing which boxes you need to tick to or doing Ubers without knowing their move sets

You can try wasd instead, a lot less move movement.
get a lighter mouse. It did wonders for me, my wrist pain that I used to get from playing long hours in poe is completely gone since I switched from an 85g mouse to a sub 60g mouse. A faster mouse pad may also help. Or just use wasd like the other guy said.

Right now it looks like dark souls with arpg elements. Not PoE, no movement skills, no great clear, enemies are tanky for no reason

It looks awesome and obviously plays too, but - is it just me or the movement speed seems way too slow, sluggish? Imagine getting killed at the end of a large zone... Is this because it's low level, no MS on boots, etc.?
im all for slow playstyle where u dont need to do 30 maps to get a big boss.

The game looks very good, a bit too hard for the casuals though, I am not sure if they should not tune it down a bit. You were on 2% HP like 300 times during this video, can you imagine what a less skilled player will experience.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed after watching this POE2 video. The design, art, and graphics of the POE2 world are incomparable to those of POE1, but the skill design seems to need to be changed. And I think some of the skills are too much of the character's action when using the skill. I know it's still the alpha version and not the final game version, but I felt that way. Anyway, thank you for sharing the POE2 video.
We really need more melee play testers to make sure melee is not dogshit in this game too. The fact that you can’t move while meleeing makes absolutely no sense to me.
