This is the main reason I will not buy anything past 1999. Yes I spend about 35,000.00 a year on maintenance. My 3406 will hopefully last until January 22, 2028. That will be my last day as an owner operator. Good luck with CT two and stay safe.
Bought my 95 Exhd in 1995. Built in Denton Texas Nov 94. 3406 E. Drive it anywhere except Commiefornia. It’s my “Ride and Die”. Hope it all gets better for you Clutch
I sure hope they got it fixed this time. The DEF crap is the worst mandate ever on trucks. It absolutely has ruined the trucks. Give Rusty a pat on the head and a good boy for me. Good luck to you, be safe out there and God Bless you.
I miss being an O/O in many ways but when the one box and wiring harness fried on my company truck and it was out of commission for 11 weeks with a bill of almost $9000, I still had work and income. The following week the def coolant line (directly under the center of the cab) split requiring a tow and another week at the dealer. Now I see the 2025’s are being delivered so my 2020 with all the brand new parts will be going be replaced in the next few weeks. Wishing you all the best, praying for good times ahead!
I think you should do a “break even” analysis. All the down time, repairs, lost loads vs getting a different truck? How many more breakdowns can you take before it makes sense to make a big change? Is there a condition that makes those sensors go bad? Like too much heat, fuel, weather fouling, electrical short?
Love the monsters inc. reference! It does help to have a sense of humor neighbor. I can't post in youtube what I said out loud - but it had something to do with someone's mother... i can only imagine your frustration and off camera remarks. Praying intently for this to be the repair to get the sensor issue resolved. I agree with your assessment of how the problem came about based on how the truck was used previous. Let's hope this is it!
New to the channel and watching your break down fiasco. You have the patience of a saint, or at least more than this retired copper from Ohio. "Am I confident its fixed, no, no I am not". 😁 Loving your videos but I have to know, why is Rusty the world famous Meatball dog?
I'll give a BIG THUMBS UP, you never give up. I feel like you have your share of bad luck. I'll throw some good luck your way, I'm in the DFW. Hope Texas brings it your way, no storms today, safe travels.
Sorry to hear about your problem. Still always enjoy your videos. I hope and pray that it’s finally fixed. I really pray that you can start running good now.
Best of luck on these repairs will pray for your truck stay running and no more troubles. Had you seen the movie .Black Dog has MeatLoaf, Randy Travis, Patrick Swayze
OH my goodness at least you're out of there Clutch, now, how in the world did the other shops missed the supposedly leaking Def line, that Def stinks and you might have seen it on the ground 🤪 Praying hopefully 🙏 that's it!! Hugs and cuddles to RUSTY 🥰
The AGM batteries are high but worth it. I replaced my 3 trucks with 4 agm's in each because of all the electronics and such in each. Hope this finally fixed the glitch🙏
I think I heard you say in earlier vod that the filters were okay, next you should verify that the DEF is not contaminated, try using some diesel additive to treat the diesel...being in ND likely still have gel in their diesel; make sure that the temp is above 210 during regen or the soot will not be removed and lastly the only other likely is that the injectors are dumping too much fuel and causing excessive soot. Manual regen when you stop for breaks especially if you must idle because of APU not working.
That’s why I’m trying to hold out with my Coronado but I’m kind of in the same boat you were, how long do you push the old truck. If I had an emissions truck I would be running the Max Milage Fuel Born Catalyst from Pittsburg Power. It creates a cleaner burn resulting in less carbon thus less buildup in the whole emissions system.
Mr. Clutch, I believe, Life of KO had a similar experience. Kept breaking down and kept replacing Nox sensor. I think it ended up being the other Nox sensor causing the problem. I haven't heard him say he is breaking down since. He has a similar Freightliner.
Wish you the best. I know that some people will swear by the great extra fuel economy, etc, but I wouldnt trade all four of my older tractors with N14 s in them for 4 brand new anything even. We have an occasional gremlin come up such as an injector or shorts in the upper engine harness, but we have new replacements in a waterproof box under the sleeper in each tractor, just in case of emerg. They all get a new altenator and water pump yearly. It works for us and everyone I know with the brand new stuff are just about broke. Bill
The lemon law states that if the same kind of repairs, the number of them, the time said vehicle is not available for use that the manufacturer has to buy the vehicle back. The dealer isnt responsible for the warranty, the manufacturer is.
Probably don't need much more blab from me but you might consider lithium batteries for the aux batteries. Renogy has lithium batts that can be used to -4F and one 300ah battery last way way longer than one AGM. Im doing that as I write this. Im starting with one 300ah batt and a DC to DC chatger for $1500. Four AGM Extreme batts are about $2500. Ill add another batt if needed but I should get at least 8 hrs on one. If I do need 2 Batts. The total cost would be $2500 but the lithium will charge faster, provide more power and last 10 years. The AGMs really only last 4 yrs if you're lucky.
My 2018 has had the mill lite on and off for a year with 8 dealers resetting it . Going to take in and the dealer in dodge City KS which I have frequently seen for this problem says the are going to check all the sensors. My DPF filters were replaced last June , what you think ? Good luck I hope it stays off .
Sounds like they gave you a truck that never went thru a shop inspection...what else is new nowadays right Clutch....i hope you can get rolling good soon..
Sounds like Mike and the company he works for screwed you. You shouldn't have to pay a penny for these repairs on a truck you just bought. They should have checked and fixed everything before selling it. You have been losing money with this truck.
Take that lemon back to the dealer

Im Glad to see ya fixed. I am in the same boat buying a newer truck to replace the older one best of luck for all of us
May this do the trick and may you and Rusty have the best day ever!!!🐕🌼🌷🌻🍀
Glad they stepped up to help out.
Hope this was the fix and you can get back in the groove.

All the DEF stuff is thankfully under warranty

Already working on it
Most large companies get rid of trucks at 500,000 miles, the Def system normally goes out then
Got everything crossed for you Clutch.
Thanks Clutch for the update. Glad you're back on the road! Rusty's looking great, too. Hoping and praying the truck's 'good to go' !!!!
Fingers crossed!

Let’s hope so
I hope that this fixes the issue. The more they add the more that can go wrong. I am surprised the last place did not find the leak.
Exactly what I said

My parents always said when I was acting silly I was being a meatball. That’s where it comes from
Glad you’re getting all the issues resolved. Keep on Trucking!

You should have the dealer provide you with a repair history.....it should be available.
I got it
Use opt idle button start and stop on your truck dashboard
I feel for you mate, you're doing your best, these setbacks are not your fault. It can't get any worse, it's got to get better eventually. Bob NZ.
Thanks
Don't blame you at all

Clutch you’ll get it straightened out and start making some money. God look at the bright side. You’re still healthy and you still have rusty.😎💯🚛
Wow hear we go again..... don't give up . Remember this to shall pass

Thanls for the update. I hope for your sake this is it but I understand why you are sceptical.
The check engine light is translated to "Go to Dealer and throw money at it"
😂
Clutch, I really, really, really hope that your truck is fixed.
I hope so too
That truck was used for rail yard work!! You maybe seeing the repair shop more often!! 😞😉
This would be infuriating with a car, but this is your job!
I hope they're doing these repairs at no charge. This is how they sold you the truck.
No charge so far
@@ClutchTrucker Great
You are chipping away from the cost of replacing the head gasket.

Just wait till you have to replace an exhaust filter they're about 8 to 10000 for the one box
Ouch
Hey Clutch man, kinda disheartening to have your NEW truck to cause you the grief that it is, huh???? Say hi to Rusty!!!!
Will do
3rd time is charm
Sounds like they gave you a truck that never went thru a shop inspection...what else is new nowadays right Clutch....i hope you can get rolling good soon..
I hope so too
Honestly seems more like a wiring short problem than a bad sensor. Emissions are no joke sorry man
Sounds to me like previous owner cleared fault codes then dumped truck
I just noticed you grew a couple of more grey hairs 😂
trucking will do that
@@John-kr7iz 😄
I got even more gray hair too just watching him and imagining his frustration, been there, is always so stressful
@Connie1Fan Yes I understand as a former truck driver myself
Try 30 more grey hairs!
🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞
Hey Cutch want take bets on how soon it happens again?
Two days?
Just checking in to see the results of bad decisions...
Ouch
Gosh. Thanks Mrs positive!

Walmart sells cans of truckbefixed real cheap. 😂
😂
Why don't you get you a A glider with a Cummins or a cat Miller. Put an a v wanna and just be happy
I have a glider at home. But needs an on frame and head gasket that I can’t afford
Clutch. You are in Tonk-a-wa. Think about a Tonka toy with a wah attached. I'm 10-10 on the side. SCOTT...OUT!
Lol
+ Now l’ll never see a tea pot the same way again 🫖 🎭 🎤
congratulations! so much fun! they sold u a lemon'e.... U get a trophy for time! yup! truck tuckname: bolt-bucket! sweet Rusty!
Gosh. Thanks
Trucks are never fixed just temporarily working.
😂
Most states have a lemon law may wanna see if that applies to that situation
Not for commercial trucks
