There is a lot wrong with this movie, but the thing that broke it for me was the superzombies wearing freaking UNIFORMS!
Who dressed them up???
I mean, for a game to put monsters in uniform to avoid reworking sprites? Sure, I can deal with that, but a movie has no excuses. It requires MORE work!
The first 2 mins of the films in this series are usually good then rapidly descend into unwatchable crap nuff said love your reviews.

I called those container zombies "the baked bean boys" because they often had what looked bean juice all over their faces. I like that umbrella paid for little painter jumpsuits for all those zombies.
12:34 so confusing Alice says she "can't" go wit the Convoy , cause its too dangerous or something for them to be around her , then next scene or so , shes going along with them anyways? Huh?
This movie finally buried the series for me. I'm never one to be a twat in the theater but all that horse manure with LJ had me ranting out loud to the probable annoyance and amusement of people around me.
Alice's new costume was designed by Milla Jovovich's clothing line, Jovovich-Hawk.
Claire Redfield in the video games is in a never-ending search for her brother Chris. When the main plot of the film was planned, the original purpose of the trip to Alaska would be the reunion of Claire with her brother. The Chris Redfield subplot was scrapped and the voyage to Alaska was rescheduled as a simple quest for a safe haven.
Ali Larter was cast largely on the strength of her performance in the first two Final Destination movies.
Milla Jovovich wasn't interested in doing a third Resident Evil film due to her disappointment with Resident Evil: Apocalypse. However she changed her mind after reading the script.
There is no dialogue at all for the first 5 minutes of the film.
Ashanti's first horror film.
The crows sitting on power lines and attacking in large numbers pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds (1963).
The only Resident Evil film in which the character of Albert Wesker is played by Jason O'Mara. All films after this one Wesker was played by Sean Roberts
For the crow attack scene, only two crows were used for the entire sequence. The rest of the crows were entered with special effects.
The name of the terrifying mutation that Dr Isaacs morphs into during the final sequence is never mentioned in the film. The creature however is lifted directly from the video games and is called Tyrant. The complete name of the deadly virus is Tyrant virus. T-virus is just an abbreviation.
The White Queen is never called specifically by name in the entire film.
During the release of the movie was around the time that Milla Jovovich has just given birth to her and Anderson's first child

Fun fact apparently Sylvester Stallone was at the Las Vegas premier for this movie, which is hilarious given he fired Russell Mulcahy as the director from Rambo 3 😂😂😂

ive actually just realised something, why arent clones good enough, they would be identical to the original since they are made from the exact same dna, which is even worse than you think because it means that they have the "original" ,since the final chapter buggered this plot up, alices dna on freaking hand to make said clones, so whats the actual issue here
I'm with Gary. I, too, enjoyed the crows scene. I can't remember if they ever showed up at all in the other movies but in this one I loved it. Callback to the first RE movie when you saw them for the first time and that dread. I felt they captured a similar feeling with this one by having a fuck ton of them surrounding the convoy. When I saw that for the first time I was like "Oh shiii...."
And then wonder woman Alice showed up and it roasted them all and I just sighed lol.
Only thing I ever liked about these movies was the soundtrack lol

For me Extinction was a Mad Max movie with some parts of Day Of The Dead. So, Extinction was not bad, but it was definitively not RE. Also, 31:40, this scene was a typical Mad Max movie scene where the heroes separate.

I love how the pit of Alice's at the beginning of the film none of the corpses were rotten they were all fresh and then the hillbillies lol why? So stupid

I enjoy these reviews, but I do want to comment. LJ's behaviour about not mentioning being bitten makes sense because people in real life are hypocrites all the time. His behaviour is actually not at all uncommon, and, quite the contrary, would be expected. Just like someone with a million dollars condemning a person for, say, shoplifting, and then losing all of his money, having no income, starving, and deciding to shoplift. It's different when it's you.

now that I think about it is alice is bonded with the t virus it would make more sense for her to have sort of hive mind ability where she can control or either kill creatures with the t virus in it, all of the crows suddenly dropping from the sky would have been quite the scene and would make sense for alice to pass out from as well since its a massive number of creatures even if they are smaller ones

@@MasqueofFlesh Well, I somewhat enjoyed Extinction, even if this movie had many flaws. Also, in my own opinion, Extinction should be considered as a Mad Max Movie with zombies and not a RE movie. Also, I agree with you that the later movies are trash.
Anybody notice umbrella and the T-virus excludes beauty salons? How else can alice keep changing her hair style and color from one movie to another?

Extinction introduced me to Resident Evil, and I played the video games because of this film. I like it, It brings back memories, i love the look of the film’s wasteland and I love the score by Charlie Clouser. For how bad it is and every flaw you guys mentioned, it’s a nostalgic movie for me.

Love your reviews guys, but i personally was never a fan of this film series. Its all about ALICE, and feels nothing like the computer games their meant to be based on. Wouldent mind a reboot though.

The Resident Evil films may overall be shit, but the opening theme song for this particular film was badass.
The crows scene in this movie is a shoutout to the 1963 movie the birds.
