'The Wages of Fear' is being released in 4k Feb 2024. I hope you know the behind the scenes goings on during making 'His Girl Friday'. 'One Eyed Jacks' is Terry Gilliam's favourite movie. 'Mr Smith Goes tto Washington' was originally going to feature the dog 'Skippy' who played the role of 'Mr Smith' in the Cary Grant film, 'The Awful Truth'.
I didn't know that, but it's absolutely one that I'll have to get. I am a huge fan of Henri-Georges Clouzot, so I'm delighted to hear that his films are starting to get the 4K treatment. I'm sure the BFI will do a great job with it. I can't say that I do, though I'll have to investigate the behind the scenes. His Girl Friday is a film I love to share with others. Haha that would have been a fantasti cameo and a nice little easter egg for us today.
Such a pleasure to watch a video like this without the wobble cam footage and constant heavy breathing, belching and never ending apologies for all that nonsense. By the way, I still fast forward the greenhouse scene in Scum all these years later. 👍🍺
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! My goodness, that scene is seared into my memory now. Horrendously brutal, and I was not prepared for it!
Beautiful organization! I like your idea of forming your own "label" in a way. Submarine is a great film. Would love to see your non-boutiques some day as well.
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! It's definitely a fun way to show some extra love to those titles that you think deserve something a bit more special. I'm currently working on a video for my non-boutiques, which I'm hoping to have done by November if all goes to plan.
@@goosesmovies Lol my bad, got all the way to the end and forgot that you mentioned at the beginning that this is part 1 (per the title as well). Thanks and looking forward to it!
Thanks for the effort you put in always enjoy your videos. I’m not an avid collector just collect the ones that take my fancy. Loved The new Bicycle Theives on arrow academy and The fog on scream factory the original audio on the fog is great. I bought a projector for my modest collection best thing I did. Take care mate look forward to more vids!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Ah Bicycle Thieves was really a really moving one, that's for sure. I haven't seen The Fog, and actually have seen only a few of John Carpenter's filmography. Something I should remedy! Amazing having a projector, I'd love to get one at some point in the future as well. Thank you so much for watching!
Fantastic collection mate; still yet to pick up that Kieslowski boxset on Arrow; also talking of Eureka; I would recommend picking up or at least check out ‘Vampyr’; it’s one of my best first time watches this year; definitely gonna be rewatching it nearer to Halloween; ‘Nosferatu’ is one of my fav ever films; also in the Masters Of Cinema range; BFI too 😀👍 I watched ‘Metropolis’ at my local independent cinema last weekend and I absolutely loved it; hope to pick up the boxset soon. Hope you having a good weekend mate; I’m seeing a double bill on Tuesday at my local independent cinema; it is ‘The Cabinet Of Dr Calligari’ which I believe is getting a 4K later this year; also ‘Eraserhead’ which I love; big Lynchian here 😀🍿
Thanks so much Sam 😀 I definitely need to check out Vampyr at some point, maybe this month if i get the chance, as it is October after all. I saw Nosferatu a while back and thought it was incredibly interesting, and certainly something I want to re-visit. Since I saw it I've been really keen to see the MoC transfer of it actually, because the one I watched wasn't the best. I've been wanting to watch Metropolis for ages. Amazing that you got to see it in the cinema! I bet that was fantastic. Oh wow, that sounds like a great double bill! Eraserhead isn't one that you forget quickly, that's for sure. I'm keen to pick up the Criterion of Lost Highway when I get a chance, as there's still a few Lynch that I've yet to see.
@@goosesmovies oh I would strongly recommend ‘Vampyr’ mate; a fantastic eerie & atmosphere little film; I believe there’s a standard Eureka edition now; I got the limited edition a few month ago; defo gonna be rewatching it closer to Halloween. I loved seeing ‘Eraserhead’ on the big screen mate; very daunting & atmospheric film that is nightmarish & genius at the same time. Also another Eureka release I really enjoyed was ‘If’ with Malcolm McDowell 😀👍
