Great video Alan and fantastic footage of London, we were in Greenwich a month ago. Blimey I never knew that statue of the Fire of London existed and especially the fact of laying it on its side, well interesting. 🤣🤣 sliding under the doors of HMV 🤣 blimey those pens are cool and a great tip but they cost quite a bit. There’s alot out this week but nothing I need to pick up 😀. Brilliant parcels received Inc from Pete 😀. Great stuff.😀👍
Hi Carl, thanks mate, it was certainly different using a mobile phone to film (whilst in London) yeah I was reading all about the Monument in London and had never knew it was there before 😮 I thought the fact when laid in its side was the distance to the door of the bakery was really interesting too 🧐 unfortunately I’m too old to slid under the HMV shutters now 🤣 maybe 20 years ago I could but not now 😬 yeah I use similar coloured pens all the time to tart up slipcovers 👌 haha I could have picked up loads this week… but I must be strong 😆 absolutely mate, Pete is a star, cool he’s making a return next month 🙌 take care mate👍😃👍
Another great K Day .....loved the London trip vlog mate ....I remember going in the that HMV store years ago...did you ever see seahunt with lloyd bridges late 50s early 60s but prob as been repeated a few times....like I said before Joan was excellent ....thanx Alan....av a great week mate 👍
Hi Les, glad you enjoyed the London footage mate 🙏 yeah the old HMV on Oxford Street used to have the Blu-rays and DVD’s downstairs but it’s so much nicer now 🧐 I don’t recall seeing Seahunt (I will check out the trailer) thanks mate, enjoy the rest of your week too Les, take care 👍😃👍
Hi Dawn, I had a lovely time up in London, so many interesting places to visit 🧐 I’m fine thank you, hope you are too, enjoy the rest of your week Dawn, take care👍😃👍
Thank you for the excellent video as always, loved the coverage of the sites of London which is really appreciated as we are thinking about spending a few days in London ourselves. I’ll be picking up blazing saddles , Columbo box set part two and the 4k of Scarface. Really enjoyed the presentation 😊
Hi Stephen, thank you very much mate, hope you have an incredible trip to the capital 🙌 the walk along the Embankment is lovely. Blazing Saddles is a funny movie and Columbo is definitely on my list of titles to get. Cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Hi Alan. Good to see your London visit. I visited all those spots also on my recent trip, good to see. I didn’t get to go to the HMV though. Another good looking Imprint set, I definitely have a soft spot for some of the TV movies of the 70s
Hi Neil, hope the location bought back some found memories for you mate 🧐 you would have loved it inside the HMV store mate 🤔 yeah I love a TV movie from that era too, the studios managed to get some great stars 😀 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Hey 👋 Alan. Thanks for the mini tour of London. Very informative and reassured me that despite the efforts of politicians our capital is still a great city 👍 A new release I got today that you missed thanks to their continued absence from HMV is Black Tuesday. It looks like a great noir starring Edward G Robinson about two convicts who escape prison just before they are about to be executed. Thanks 👍 mate. Take care.
Hi Roy, yeah, London is a beautiful city to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there, it’s far too vast and busy for me, Brighton is much more relaxing mate 😬 but I do love the history of the city 👌 yeah I watched a trailer to Black Tuesday and would love to get it.. but with Christmas around the corner, I need to be careful 🤑 cheers Roy, take care mate👍😃👍
Hi Pete, sorry about that mate, it’s the thought that counts and I will pass the movie on and keep hold of the spare slips 👌 looking forward to your return mate, take care and thanks again mate👍😃👍
That _HMV_ with you in it is somehow familiar 😉 So glad to hear you say _Thomas Becket_ not _Thomas _*_o_*_ Becket_ that so many seem to get wrong... did you see the episode of *QI* where this was brought up or did you just know through your own education? So embarassing that the designers of the *Millennium Bridge* had forgotten what the armyed forces knew in WW2 that you had to deliberately break stride rather than march across bridges or it sets up a standing wave and makes it sway. Of course people weren't marching uniformly but nobody seemed to realise people naturally walk at the same pace as those around them which has the same outcome. I thought it'd been wiped out in other movies than *Harry Potter* though I can't think of any off the top of my head (maybe it's in TV series)... but nowhere near as often as the *Golden Gate Bridge* has suffered movie 'disaster' in the US; over a dozen apparently! Going back to *QI* that's where I learned *HMS Belfast* has her guns trained on _London Gateway Motorway Services Area_ - apparently to give an feel to their range not because someone from the _Imperial War Museum_ had a really bad cup of coffee there! 🤣 No surprise that I have that _HMV_ exclusive 4K steelbook set of *House of the Dragon* : Season 2, Totally agree with you about *North by Northwest* but not picked it up yet with so much limited edition stuff hitting the shelves. Ooh, *Goblin Slayer* - it at least has a design that matches my Season 1 steelbook. My wife is interested in *The Hardacres* though I wasn't enamoured by the trailers (though I love *Downton* and old *Upstairs, Downstairs* - I think part of their charm is the loyalty of staff to the families not the money). Nice to see _Dazzler_ putting it out nice and fast though... in time for Christm... no, I refuse to think about it, yet! I think *Thelma* might use different mathods than *The Beekeeper* after that telephone scam; talking of which I'm deleriously pleased to hear *Beekeeper 2* is in the works for more _The Stath_ action. Just added *Things Will Be Different* to my wishlist; sounds intriguing... and yes I have the 4K *Terminator* steelbook, which apparently hasn't been 'Cameronised' to his recent extent! Yet _more_ *Radiance Films* stuff that looks interesting... they've been really busy recently. I am eagerly awaiting Pete's return of course... he's been much missed from my watching schedule... Pete's finding getting you something you don't have as difficult as I have! Did you see _Sophie Turner_ is tipped for being (or might be 'confirmed') the next movie _Lara Croft_ ... it doesn't appear to have gone down well but I judge after, not before, I've seen a movie... I think I might pick up (or request for Christm... nope, still not saying, *Joan* after seeing the trailers but missing the programme); good ol' _Dazzler_ again. Thanks for another great video and glad you had, or certainly seemed to, have a nice time in London. 👍
Hi Justin, yes indeed, it was actually quite strange to be back in HMV on my own…actually I was on my own up there for most of the time 🧐 haha yes I watched QI too, I had a relatively poor education at a mixed comprehensive school in Bristol but since then I’ve read a lot of the classics and attended further education but with all that said, I did remember it from QI. If I recall correctly the designer of the Millennium Bridge stated that the public were walking peculiar and it was their fault the bridge was swaying 🤦 ooh my goodness the Golden Gate Bridge is always being targeted in movies 🤣 I would definitely think twice about driving over it 😬 now that is interesting about the guns of HMS Belfast… again I would be nervous about working there…just in case 😮 I wouldn’t mind giving The Hardacres a go myself, there’s something quite comforting in those type of shows….so many releases, so little cash 😆 yeah Thelma did give me The Beekeeper vibes when reading about it, happy to here there is a sequel in the works… Things Will be Different peaked my interest too, anything with time travel and I’m in 🤔 Radiance is knocking it out of the park lately, it would be difficult to collect all their movies given the amount. I’m so pleased Pete is coming back, it’s been a long 9 months. I’m exactly the same Justin, I will wait and watch the film before passing judgment, people do like to hate movies before they even see a single frame of film nowadays, it’s ridiculous. I did enjoy myself in London but I could never live there, it’s far too busy and vast for my liking, I’m happy with little old Brighton 😁 take care mate👍😃👍
Hello mate, hope you had a nice time in London. I've been using felt tip pens on my scuffed slips for a few years now, got a cheap set of 30 for under 3 quid. They really make a difference. I have the 4ks of North By Northwest and The Terminator coming today, looking forward to watching them both. Love Cold Warning. Take care mate. Gaz.
Hi Gary, I had a lovely time in London thanks mate, yeah I’m finding these coloured pens are very handy 👌 nice pick ups mate and I completely agree Cold Warning is an excellent song, cheers Gary, take care mate👍😃👍
Welcome back Alan! Some great footage from London, and a varied selection of new releases once again this week. Like you I still have the TV Times delivered to my house every week (we must officially be old lol). Take care mate 👍
Hi mate, thank you, it’s very much appreciated 👍 yeah there were a lot of titles and something for everyone 🧐 haha, glad I’m not alone, I love the TV guide, I circle off what I’m planning to watch 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍
I remember going into that HMV on Oxford Street before it closed and since then, re-opened. Covent Garden is always a great place to go to, especially with close access to a couple of theatres like Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, The Lyceum and Cambridge Theatre and even London’s only branch of Fopp. Hitchcock used the Garden as a filming location for one of his last films, Frenzy when it was still in operation as a fruit and vegetable market.
Hi Ian, I remember the physical media section used to be on the lower ground floor in the HMV in Oxford Street 🧐 I went to the Lyceum theatre last year to see The Lion King, it’s a lovely area. Thanks for the info on Covent Garden, it’s a very recognisable place and a great backdrop to feature in movies 👌 cheers Ian, take care mate👍😃👍
alan glad to see you back great vid mate love to look round thease places looiking foward to seeing som eof bri ghtons lights tc and 311 steps not even on a good day lol tc steve
Hi Steve, thanks mate, much appreciated. The Christmas lights/decorations have gone up in Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton and it’s pitiful 🧐 if I remember I will film them next week 😬 yeah not a chance I could get up that staircase 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍
London is very beautiful very foggy . The fogginess gives it its atmosphere . You have quite an eye when it comes to filming panning from side to side going up and down you get the whole building in shots fantastic . I think the BBC will be calling you soon. To make short documentaries. London is on my bucket list but the economy tells me otherwise 😂 I never seen those markers before maybe they will be a regular thing for a Blu-ray & 4K collectors .
Hi Mike, yeah you could imagine Jack The Ripper running around London in the fog 🤔 ahh cheers Mike, I was using my wife’s mobile phone, so I’m glad the footage was smooth 👌 the coloured pens are a big help with scuffs 🧐 worth having for the slipcovers 👍 cheers Mike, take care👍😃👍
That TV movie set looks wonderful. I remember when a lot of time and effort were put into making tv movies in the 70s with big stars. One of the ones I remember loving as a kid was Raid At Entebbe with Charles Bronson and Peter Finch. And that reminds me now I need to look for that film on disc! lol Wonderful shots from London and I hope you had a great time! Have a great week!
Hi Erik, the TV movie box set from Imprint Films was brilliant, they were a treat to watch and yeah it’s incredible seeing some of the actors they managed to get to star in them. I don’t thing I’ve seen Raid At Entebbe, again…sounds like a stellar cast 👌 hope you find a copy. Thanks mate, I had a great time in London, take care👍😃👍
Wait one minute ☝️ Les Miserables too. I liked that fake snow. Nice filming of London. I don’t need to go up anytime soon now 😂 But being in Greenwich. So close to me. I do have the Prior. Wilder set ‘en route ‘
Hi AJ, I loved that fake snow, I did notice the street decorations were a lot better than those in Brighton. I’ve watched two of the Pryor and Wilder films so far… just need to finish off Another You ready for next week. My hotel was between the O2 and IKEA store. Cheers AJ, take care mate👍😃👍
Yeah, Petes been w]away for 9 months now, he’s had health issues but I’m sure he will fill us all in December 1st 🧐 it will be nice to have his personality back on UA-cam. Take care Mike👍😃👍
Alan is back !!!!!!! 👏 I wish we had an HMV in the states the closest we got was Canada and that closed sadly. But watching your video, you’re making me drool as I’m seeing all those movies Maybe one day HMV will come to the states 🙏🏻 but then again maybe not because look who’s gonna be present in the United States I have no hope for anything anymore 😢
Hi Mike, thanks mate, nice to be back 👍 you never know mate, HMV have opened a few stores in other countries so maybe one day they may open in the States 🧐 yeah, you guys are in for an eventful four years 😬 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
The Richard Pryor Gene Wilder set is fantastic. I would import that, but I have them all on Blu-ray already including the out of print Silver streak . I think Silver streak didn’t make it there because of the fact that movie is owned by DisneyNOW and who knows if it’s going to ever see the light a day on physical media again 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve just watched two of the films from the set, it’s a shame about Silver Streak, I love that movie, hopefully Sony will get the rights to release it 🤞 take care mate👍😃👍
Hi Alan entertaining video as usual I have a quick question for you I have absolutely no knowledge of the anime films and know you do because they come up often on your vids so can you tell me why are they sooo expensive compared to the normal dvd/bluray discs ? Thanks Dave from brum 😊
Hi Dave, thanks mate. I’m not 100% sure but would probably guess that it’s down to studios having to pay for top actors to come in and do a dub track.. but I agree, they are very expensive. Hope that answers your question Dave, take care mate👍😃👍

Really enjoyed the video mate, your footage is always expertly shot. Loved the London stuff.
Thanks Steven, that’s really nice to hear, I tried to be a steady as possible, glad you enjoyed it. Take care mate👍😃👍
Great out and about in London 👍
Thank you Matt, much appreciated mate, take care👍😃👍
Great to see you up London Alan looking around HMV. I love this store when I go back to London and it will always be a home to me.
Hi Barry, the new HMV in Oxford Street is incredible, I’d love that to be my local, the amount of movies available was awesome. Take care mate👍😃👍

Sophie turner was good in Joan 👌🏻 I see a part 2 no doubt, great video mate 👍🏻
Hi Stuart, I’ve looked into it and it seems unlikely there will be a series 2 (unfortunately…but never say never) cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
I hope you enjoy your trip to London and great pickups Alan and hope you and your family are doing well

All three of those made for TV movies look interesting 🤔
That’s very true, I wonder if there’s a slight possibility that they are linked in any way 🧐 those Imprint Films TV Movies were a lot of fun mate 🙌
