I love the live premieres, but I am now saving comments for my second viewing, when I can pause and go bananas at what I just saw. Such a clever way to trace at 2:25, then such a clever way to round at 3:40, then such a clever way to route at 4:25. Beautiful end result, museum of design worthy. IKEA, or some other retailer needs to license you design. Ever more amazed than usual.
This is my Sunday morning: settling down with the coffee to watch Laura create something ingenious and inventive. You have to appreciate the years of experience behind these seemingly effortless builds. I wonder when some big company wants to license one of these designs?
It's fine just build a beautiful piece with out words and drop some amazing hints along the way. The washer drawing around the shade. The router jig. The polystyrene under the jigsaw. 😍 So much good stuff packed in to a wonderfully edited video as always.
I love how you use basic tools with ingenious techniques the rest of us can learn from and duplicate instead of using tools out of reach for most of us. Thank you!
Amazing ideas to use the arc to sand the outside of the circle and to route the groove! Also, the timing of the break in the music with the first cut of the circle on the table saw...bravo!
Amazing craftsmanship and artistry combined into an elegant functional form. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. Wishing you and your furry kid a blessed week. Peace Laura
That table (and chair) is so, my style. I love that lamp/table. I feel like a fly on the wall of your workshop, and when you smile, I fee as if I accomplished success along with you. Keep them coming, and I’ll keep watching. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Some great time-saving techniques in this one. Plus those Festool dominoes look like the table could even withstand being a chair! Thanks for the inspiration! I do think there just may have been some secret math involved in figure out the angle on the plastic... Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. :)
The angle (A) at which you cut each one of your faces (F) is found calculating this simple equation: 360 / (2 x F) = A. Triangle : 360 / (2 x 3) = 60 degrees Square : 360 / (2 x 4) = 45 degrees Pentagone : 360 / (2 x 5) = 36 degrees Etc...

Clever and interesting build techniques. I found the style of the table (especially paired with the chair) was reminiscent of the (then) modern and fashionable display homes I saw (as a young child) down under in the early 1970s. Heartwarming memories.
I look forward to Laura's creativity and ingenuity every Sunday morning (morning where I am in TX). The way she works through projects, picks great low-fi music and greets us with her glowing positivity (even when projects fail!), it's like 8-10min of meditation. Yes please!
I'm blown away by the subtle ingenuity you showed off in this (especially the way you rounded the top and bottom on the table saw!), and the design is so very much yours. So cool!
Once again a true Design Icon made by you Laura, as I already said last time, you‘re a true genius at this art, in the Productions itself and in the presentation. Absolutely gorgeous. But in addition to this masterpiece, after an almost everlasting wait after the „Let Glue Dry“ Block at last you gave us the new unique Laura Kampf shop item the „Stopblock“ Block yayyy 🥳 😁 hope to see this around once in a while. Stay save, LG, Sven.
Table-Lamp, I get it. I was intrigued by that router jig you used for cutting the slot around the edge, so simple yet brilliant. An interesting 'retro' feel about the finished project, very nice.
Putting some LED's in there that change colour for whatever mood you're feeling would be really cool too. Also using a piece of styrofoam packing for a jig saw table is such a great idea; Im going to be saving a few pieces of styrofoam for that now!
What a great way to route the grooves. I have never seen anyone approach it like that from the outside. It might take a little extra attention to keep the jig in contact with the circle, but it seems like creating that jig would be faster than making a "normal" circle cutting jig.
what a beautiful piece! I loved the clever jigs for making the circles and routing the groove for the lampshade - this is classic Kampf - gorgeous, functional, totally awesome! thank you again
But can it be Improved? I'm thinking of a chairside table that (generally) avoids becoming a "Clutter Catch-all," because a hovering "Mothership Lamp" will often settle down on it, and Give Off a low-wattage Glow. {To keep me from tripping over my dog, late at night.} Falls can be deadly dangerous, for us Well-seasoned Ones, you know!)
@@lcbphd It would look "ever so much Better," if Laura "did it up Right." (And I fear any video I "cranked out" would be labelled "Unwatchable." The woman has a "Mad Skillset.")
Wonderful design as always. The only recommendation I have is to replace bulb with hue multicolor bulb or other color changing lighting. Thanks for making such great videos!
Seeing the finished project and watching the build process are excellent on both counts! Very Cool 😎! ( I can't let the wife watch this video.... I'm already on the Hook for a MCM wall cabinet bar.. 😆😆. Of course, this would be a great table "next" to the bar!!!)
This is an awesome table! I'm thinking if instead of a pull chain a wireless charger is installed on top hidden below a thin veneer and one a device is placed on the wireless charging area it turns on the light around the table and charges your phone at the same time. There's about a million different variations of this that are flying through my head at this moment! This is awesome
Very nice. A simple yet elegant piece. It occurred to me that you could easily decorate the inside of the lamp for different holidays using colored gels meant for stage lighting. Then they would only be visible when the table is turned on.
The way you use the tools... You're a damn genius.
Life won't be the same without Laura's weekly dose of creativity

Exactly! She’s terrific!
Nice project! Thanks for the enjoyable, instructional video!
Awe. Thank you, Laura Kampf for your marvelous, awe-inspiring makings.
Very sleek. And the trick using the scrap of wood as the router guide was ingenious!
It's fine just build a beautiful piece with out words and drop some amazing hints along the way. The washer drawing around the shade. The router jig. The polystyrene under the jigsaw. 😍 So much good stuff packed in to a wonderfully edited video as always.
It's amazing how much it looks like both a table and a lamp separately, whilst being both. Love it!
That last pass cutting the circle out was so satisfying to watch.
Love that trick.
Amazing to cut round with a table saw! I learnt something. Thank you so much.
I think these type of Laura projects are my most favorite ones. Original, clever thinking, nice details, well made. 100% awesome!
That circle cutting jig for the tablesaw is very impressive and creative. Keeping that in mind.
What did I just watch?!?
Oh My Goodness...Brilliance!
Your smile at the end was delightful. You were made to do this. Cheers!
In my mind, the best one since the little box that went onto the outside of the van. Lovely project, lovely video.
DAMN! That trick with the router and the scrap that slides along the edge is WICKED COOL!
And she does it again! Brilliant!🤗🐝❤️
Laura, this is such a beautiful piece. It's a table. It's a lamp. But, mostly so, so pretty to look at.
I love how you use basic tools with ingenious techniques the rest of us can learn from and duplicate instead of using tools out of reach for most of us. Thank you!

That router jig to cut that grove is a very clever idea!
So relaxing to watch on a Sunday morning. Love this design with the wood hairpin legs and the faceted shade. Always cool details in your work.
You inspire and motivate. Need more creators like you. So creative.
That's a beautiful piece of furniture, you could put a stirrup on the chain and turn it on and off by foot too. Inspirational as always.

Ahhh, some classic Laura. 😊
Few words
Great music
Smart design and construction!
😙👌
That’s definitely the first table lamp, er, lamp table ever! Amazing Laura, thank you for sharing 😀
So many clever tricks during this build! And the resulting table is magnifiicent.

Haha, there is actually a calculator for this. Google „segmented ring calculator“ 🤫
The angle (A) at which you cut each one of your faces (F) is found calculating this simple equation:
360 / (2 x F) = A.
Triangle : 360 / (2 x 3) = 60 degrees
Square : 360 / (2 x 4) = 45 degrees
Pentagone : 360 / (2 x 5) = 36 degrees
Etc...

Pretty Damn awesome - AGAIN! Love the angled cuts on the plastic and using capillary action to draw the adhesive in- pretty genius.

Table-Lamp, I get it. I was intrigued by that router jig you used for cutting the slot around the edge, so simple yet brilliant. An interesting 'retro' feel about the finished project, very nice.

Never seen anyone cut a round piece with a flat blade! That circle jig is amazingly simple
Wow so many cool techniques in this video. Love the way you made the table perfectly round and the router cuts perfectly shaped
I can see this sleek table lamp sitting in a 5 star hotel bar of the rich & famous ! So so stylish 😀
What a great way to route the grooves. I have never seen anyone approach it like that from the outside. It might take a little extra attention to keep the jig in contact with the circle, but it seems like creating that jig would be faster than making a "normal" circle cutting jig.
This is probably my favorite thing you’ve created! I wish I had the tools and supplies to recreate it!
So creative! I think the lamp/end table is adorable!
You matched the chair style so well! Really enjoy how simple the jig to cut a circle on a table saw is.

I didn't have time to watch your video last weekend, so I did it only now. Such a beautiful and practical table/lamp. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Yea, a classic stile video!
Cool music, nice project, and telling the story without saying a single word.

Sehr schöner Tisch. Auch super die Hilfs- und Führungsmittel die dir selber gebaut hast. :)
