The Defendant should have made the turn(into the right lane) AND THEN pulled into the far left lane when it was safe. She told the truth and that's refreshing, but she seems kind of out of it.

She was in the left right turn lane, that allows her to go into the center or left lane of that intersection. She sunk herself by not knowing anything about the law. Whoever ran the red light is who's at fault, that's all that matters, but that wasn't decided.

By that logic, the plaintiff was also wrong as the first thing she says is she pulled into the MIDDLE lane. She did wrong first. On top of that, the plaintiff wouldn't have had a green arrow, she would have had a green light, which means "yield if not clear."

I'm so excited about this case. This is the first time I have ever seen a case from my town. I am very familiar with this intersection. One of them had to run the red light. I believe it was the plantif. She's saying she had the yellow arrow. I see people turn at the last minute all the time at that intersection. The turn coming off of I80 going south on Torrence Ave is a little tricky. It takes a few extra seconds to get across the overpass to make it to Torrence Street. If you turn at the last minute it is possible that by the time the plantif reaches the I80 east bound exit, the light would be green for the defendant. I've seen people do this time and time again at this intersection.

This likely would have had the same outcome even if the Defendant hadn't claimed no defense. When you're making a turn, there's always a lane that you're supposed to turn into. Plaintiff has to turn into the far left lane, and defendant should have turned into the middle lane. Instead she tried to go into the far left lane without making sure that it was clear. It was her fault all day long. I will give her props for being honest in court.

There’s no way that the plaintiff could’ve had a yellow light and the defendant could’ve had a greenlight at the same time. There’s no way I would attempt to go through a yellow light with an intersection that big. IMO, if the defendant was going on a greenlight, it’s more than likely the plaintiffs light had already changed to red. And if the defendant had pointed that out, she would’ve won.

I’ve been in situations where I was in mid-turn, then the light changes for the other lanes and that’s because I tried to beat the red light. That’s definitely what the plaintiff did, but she was also so far into the turn that the defendant should have seen her.

seriously. there is multiple pretty common reasons for a not working memory.
Based on body language i would go even so far and call the person that sued a liar.

This is why excusing "anxiety" is ridiculous. she crashed into that poor woman's car and the plaintiff has to file a lawsuit. Also, that defendant behaves like she is on the spectrum.

I know the intersection they're talking about very well. It's a free-for-all, you do have to turn and immediately get all the way to the right BUT you can see the whole street before you turn

This is a case where dashcam is really helpful. If the plaintiff's light is red and she turns and defendent has dashcam to show it, she easily wins the case.

Right outcome but for the wrong reason. You can pick the left lane since you’re turning out of the left lane. Defendant is wrong because green doesn’t mean “go now” it means “go when the intersection is clear and safe” and it wasn’t.

She didn't look and clearly she didn't see anything but she heard the honking. She also cut across into the wrong lane when she was making the right turn. So it's her fault. She has to turn into the correct lane FIRST and then she can change lanes.
