    I gotta get back to boxing man, Im mostly a grappler but it's an absolutely great and unique sport and martial art. Nothing compares to the feeling of dodging a punch and launching the perfectly timed counter.

    I’m new to boxing and love it. I put on my first pair of gloves about 2 months ago. I have not sparred nor really want to right now but we are practicing a little with a jab at my head and me turning my shoulders to avoid the jab and then coming across with a right cross, left hook and or uppercut.
    My point is as a beginner I didn’t have any idea what a punch coming at me felt like or what I should do. So many things are not fundamental “boxing” instinct when avoiding punches. The flinching, ducking, blinking and swaying back are what comes natural to me. Staying there and countering was the last thing I thought/wanted to do.
    Like I said I’m new to a structured way of training on fundamentals and that kind of info is what makes me realize more and more of the bigger picture and art of boxing.
    It’s still overwhelming at times!
    Nice video👍🏼

      @joshrey789 5 років тому +2

      Bro Im right with you. I just started a few months ago too. And bro I've been in street fights in my life, but the autonatic instinct is to dodge and jump out the way. But just slipping and attempting to counter is such a change from what ur instincts tells you to do. I love boxing as well bro

    • @dondasher58
      @dondasher58 5 років тому +1

      joshrey789 good luck with the training...no doubt it’s much different than a street fight! Since my post we have started on the double end bag and it has become a favorite way to train....it was difficult at first but a great way to time punches and combos. It will even hit you back if you mess up! Hahahaha I can see where sparring is needed for me to get better and I’m looking forward to that now. We have some good men in our group and that’s important to learn without being unnecessarily beat up because of someone’s ego.
      Wish you the best my man....it’s a going to be a great journey!

    All super great advice. There is so many ways to read beginners and quickly, and easily take advantage of them. Which you are teaching them here. Also, great you mentioned you had other videos on other beginner mistakes and things to know. I am sure we could spend all day, from sun up to down. And, when it all is,over, you could still spend days going over still more aspects a beginner does. Wven then, with them knowing a out these aspect, it can be a bear to break a d untrained the bad and retraining the good habits.

    I got to get back to leg conditioning. I have a bad back, and whenever I work without leg training, I end up aggravating it, because I'm using more of my upper body and core to move. This vid was great. This is one of those ones you bookmark, and come back to. Breathing, staying loose, and maintaining eye discipline/awareness are big ones for me to remember.
