My favorite combo against aggressive opponents: 1-2, quickly step back, get an arms length away, and snap a 2. It works 85% of the time for me against aggressive fighters, knowing that they will try and bombard me within that distance. Like he said its a game of chess, and its always better to be a move ahead of your opponent. Even if you miss, give them something to think about when they try and rush you again.

I really want to run it back with him but I don't think he does.

The more air you let out of your body as you're punching helps with relaxing the muscles just before you tense up and land so as to create more elastic force. It also helps establish a rhythm for the different types of punches you'd use (varying in power and speed) and helps regulate breathing as you're punching too.

I started boxing this week, at first drill my coach could not believe that I was a beginner and that I never trained anything before. He said it that I'm excellent and to keep it up!
Training sessions are tough at first, after the first training session I was so tired and couldn't move anything for 2 days, but next training was fun and a bit easier. I feel like in a year I'm gonna look like a beast from all the pushups, running, core exercises, punching bag, hand coordination, drill where you stand face to face with another man and you try to touch the top of his shoes with your shoes and vice versa, same thing but with hands and light touching shoulders. It's so fun I cannot wait for the next training!
Thanks Mike your channel was the first I saw on the youtube regarding boxing, just seeing you looking like that and being so strong made me so jealous and realise how weak I am and made me think that I actually don't know how to protect myself, let alone others.. So your boxing made me start box to. Thanks sir

@Twistavera Hey. You could try to go on a massage. Also, don't rush it because you might get hurt! Boxing is one of the toughest sports so you have to be careful.
      1. Try massaging your bacl for 5-6 times. You will be amazed at how much it helps.
      2. Drink magnesium after sessions.
      3. Before training, you should definitely do some basic exercises first.. Walking, then running slowly, then a bit faster, then fast, then 75%, then sprint. Do some knee warm ups before each session. Sadly I started too strong without any previous preparations (except chin ups and push ups at home) and now I ended up in physical therapy for knees and quads.
Good luck! I hope you enjoy the process

Hey thank you for these videos. I am 36 years old but have been interested in boxing my entire life just finally jumping in. Not gonna be competing in any title fights lol but have been looking for some good beginning training exercises. These have been very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks for the training techniques and keep them coming.

First I couldn’t focus on the instructions because I was fixated on Mikes shoulders. Then I couldn’t focus on the instructions because those shoes blew my mind. Dude please tell me where those boots came from. I may never have those arms but at least I can get the boots
