    I coached high school and intercollegiate athletics for decades and have a background in boxing. You are flat out the best trainer I've seen on the net. I wish I came across a trainer like you when I dabbled in the sport back in the 70's. Here's what makes your teaching exceptional:
    1. You employ the whole-part-whole teaching method; meaning that you demonstrate a movement then break it down into its constituent parts. You then put the pieces back together to form one contiguous moment.
    2. You understand the invaluable nature of isolating, drilling, and repeating movements.
    3. You understand that there's more than one way to skin a cat and allow athletes to work within their natural strengths and tendencies.
    4. You teach "feel", what a specific movement/skill should feel like....e.g. chaining and transferring power from the floor through a punch.
    5. MOST IMPORTANTLY: You not only teach the HOW of skill techniques. You also teach the WHY of skill techniques. Athletes buy in faster, learn faster, and achieve mastery of skills when they understand why you're asking them to do what they do.
    Great great work, young man.

    Incidentally, the matter of transferring your weight while striking becomes even more important when *kickboxing* and in the striking phases of MMA.
    Thank you so much, cheers from Thailand! :)

    This is exactly how it should work and be done in a boxing ring. You've got to practice this stuff until you can do it without thinking about it (until it's second nature) - if you're lucky enough to be naturally gifted, that's an advantage, but you still have to practice to develop your God-given ability and skills. This works for southpaws too, just the other way around - reflection in a mirror style. Great tutorial, thanks for uploading.

    Hey gotta question. Jack Dempsey in his book championship fighting mentioned that when using rotation it is only necessary to rotate your shoulders and nature would take care of all your rotation needs if you did. However most modern fight trainers emphasize rotation of the hips. Was what Dempsey said due to the limited technology of the time or due you just need to pay attention to the shoulders instead?

    Hi sir, i have uneven leg length where my right leg is shorter than my left leg by 2inch. So should i use my shorter leg as rear leg or longer leg as rear for better power production?

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  26 днів тому

      I think it matters more which leg gives you more control. Do you kick a ball with the left or right? Whichever you kick with should be in the rear position.

    • @raajnadarajan3594
      @raajnadarajan3594 26 днів тому

      @@PrecisionBoxinghi sir, my dominant leg is my right leg. And i am also right handed, so it makes sense to use my right leg as my rear leg. I wanna also ask, should there always be a bend in the rear leg knees? When i set my right leg (shorter leg) as my rear leg, i feel that my right leg knee tend to straighten out at times since it is shorter than my left leg, thus making me feel less explosive. Inorder to create a bend in my rear leg knee i need to lower my stance, thus bending my lead leg knee even more. Or do you think i should stand while extending my shorter leg ankle and standing on the foot balls to compensate the leg length difference ?

    Surely the mechanics of throwing a punch can determine.

    • @PrecisionBoxing

      In my opinion it's yes and no. I think of it like sprinting. Almost everybody can run, and everybody can run faster and discover their potential, but not everyone is going to run a sub 10 sec 100m. Most people can learn to punch hard enough to KO someone, but not everyone will have Tyson power

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  7 днів тому

      It can help if all the other things are in place. those things are mainly accuracy, acceleration and speed of rotation. Those three factors are more important.

      In a cross you don't push. You rotate. Step with the lead foot and rotate the body. Only in the Jab do you get power from a push with the back leg
