Amazing show. Kevin Conroy is the best to ever do it. This is not actually the first episode. The first one is 'On Leather Wings', but there is not a whole lot of continuity so it's no big deal. Whenever there is a part 1 & 2, please make it one video if you can. I would also recommend Superman the animated series. And if you like Marvel, there is X-Men the animated series & Spider-Man the animated series.

Heh, it amuses me whenever someone suggests to a reactor to watch the entire DCAU through. I have yet to see any reactor actually follow through with it, though, since it's literally hundreds of episodes from 8 shows, not to mention 3 films that are also unquestionably in continuity with them (as well as several other movies that are at least of some questionable canon).

By the way, pay no mind to what anybody says about watching this show in a "correct order", it's all a bunch of bolderdash. The order that's on Max is perfectly fine, you won't have any troubles with it. In short, they are listed here by airdate order, and what people call the correct order is the production order, in the same way you don't have to watch "Some Enchanted Evening" first when checking out the Simpsons, you don't have to worry about starting out with On Leather Wings. There's no real continuity errors from watching it as is on Max. It's mostly episodic. Just watch it any way that suits you

Yeah, this Batman has a lot more depth and characterization. Burton (and Schumacher) movies are style over substance. They have their own good points but BTAS was a cartoon that absolutely outclassed those movies when it came to meaningful storytelling. :)
This show is amazing. I would highly recommend the entire thing, but also Batman Beyond which is super underrated and covers Batman from a very unique but also cool angle
@@Madbandit77 It just isn't that famous outside of the Batman fandom which is why I say that. Anyone who watches it knows how good it is, but that isn't as many as it should be
Kevin is such the iconic voice of Batman anytime I read a DC comic & Batman’s in it his voice is the one I hear. I love this show & it does connect to the other shows in this universe, Static Shock, Justice league & JL Unlimited , Batman beyond & Superman
This was the 2nd most popular cartoon of the ENTIRE 90s (after Spider-Man:The Animated Series, which was basically just as good). Batman TAS is THE all-time definitive version of Batman. And I REALLY mean definitive. This show redefined and cemented and set the standards for SO MUCH Batman stuff.
@@Madbandit77 I guess that's fair? But generally Spider-Man TAS is regarded as an improvement over the pacing of Batman TAS, and you can see Batman TAS and Batman Beyond both pick up the pace to become more like Spider-Man TAS later in their runs. 🤷♂ I think the snappier pace and improved action is fitting for Spider-Man, who is an EXTREMELY powerful, snappy, fast, quippy hero, while the quieter, slower, more dramatic, detective noir style is more fitting for the human Batman doing his stealthy investigations and intimidation and solving mysteries.
@@Madbandit77 It DEFINTIELY influenced both shows. Batman Beyond was created SPECIFICALLY to compete with Spider-Man TAS's dominant popularity AND Spider-Man 2099's rising popularity. That's why Batman Beyond is a futuristic Spider-Man show dressed up to look like Batman. But even before they launched Batman Beyond, Batman TAS was already reacting to Spider-Man TAS's dominance.
Welp, here goes another modern reactor watching the show out of order. Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy, but just know you should probably look up an actual episode guide to get the order correct instead of going by what the streaming service has the order as.
Great choice Yasmina! BTAS is arguably the greatest animated series ever based on the animation, stories, character development and arcs, writing, and voice acting throughout the entirety of the show from 1992 until 1995 within its four seasons and 85 episodes. 🦇
Just a FYI...did you know they actually made a video game out of the Animated series that introduced a new villain. Rise Of Sin Tzu, IIRC. Before the Arkham series of games, this was probably the best adaptation of Batman in video game form. You got the whole family (at the time) Batman, Nightwing, Robin (Time Drake) and Batgirl that you could choose to play as. It was a basic beat em up, like Double Dragon.
BTAS is so great. Obviously Kevin Conroy is the best Batman, but the stories are also great. Especially considering they're at kids level. I strongly recommend you watch "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm". It was made by these same people and it came out in theaters shortly after this show premiered. It is the best story of how Batman came to be. It has real heart and drama. Also, this show created and introduced Harley Quinn, who became a Batman staple character
I figure rents in Gotham city must be really really low, and cost of living super-low, for people to still live there. It's probably one quarter of the expense of living in shiny Metropolis. (Although you do have the Superman villain problem there to keep home and office insurance costs high.)
This was my favorite Batman series since it was on FOX KIDS back in the 90's! This was also the time when he was more likable and balanced until modern day writers like Frank Miller ruined him.
This is my childhood show, I still rewatch a certain few of the Christmas themed episodes every holiday season, and also tend to find myself coming back to it when going through stressful times as each episode usually contains a life lesson. The show is really great in that it is entertaining for young and old audiences at the same time. As a kid I liked it because of the action and heroism, but as I've grown I have noticed so much more about it
She was blonde because this was on the heels of Tim Burton's Batman Returns which had Michelle Pfeiffer playing Catwoman. Awesome reaction of my favorite Batman The Animated Series episode!!!!!😊😊😊😊
The beginning of the DCAU! This started airing shortly before I turned 11.(should rename it the Kevin Conroy Animated Universe in memoriam)
@@darthken815 I remember this series and gargoyles. Both were my Saturday morning and late at night cartoon shows 😉

Ah, the 90s. 🥰🥲
Which episode is your second favorite, and what makes this one your favorite?
Kevin is such the iconic voice of Batman anytime I read a DC comic & Batman’s in it his voice is the one I hear. I love this show & it does connect to the other shows in this universe, Static Shock, Justice league & JL Unlimited , Batman beyond & Superman
I wonder what it takes to train a cat to steal lol. Nothing in a cartoon smh
This bruce wayne is ben afleck 😅
Batman Forever!
I didn't like the Spider-Man show because it had too much action and not enough low key dramatic moments like Batman: TAS did.
@@Madbandit77 I guess that's fair?
But generally Spider-Man TAS is regarded as an improvement over the pacing of Batman TAS, and you can see Batman TAS and Batman Beyond both pick up the pace to become more like Spider-Man TAS later in their runs.
🤷♂
I think the snappier pace and improved action is fitting for Spider-Man, who is an EXTREMELY powerful, snappy, fast, quippy hero, while the quieter, slower, more dramatic, detective noir style is more fitting for the human Batman doing his stealthy investigations and intimidation and solving mysteries.
@@ieyke I didn't feel Spider-Man: TAS influenced both shows. It was its' own thing, like you said. I just didn't like the way it was produced.
@@ieyke I thought Batman Beyond was what a Spider-Man animated series should be in the 21st century.

Batman is my favorite hero of all. And he is the main reason I am a hardcore DC fan. And why I even make Blender Roblox DC projects.
Not just the best animated Batman, one of the best animated series ever. Although I also like the show "The Batman" (2004)
This is my childhood show, I still rewatch a certain few of the Christmas themed episodes every holiday season, and also tend to find myself coming back to it when going through stressful times as each episode usually contains a life lesson. The show is really great in that it is entertaining for young and old audiences at the same time. As a kid I liked it because of the action and heroism, but as I've grown I have noticed so much more about it
As already mentioned, this episode order on Max, or whatever the streaming platform is, is all kinds of out of order.
On Weather Wings is the first episode of BTAS. Maybe finish The Cat and The Claw Part 2 and then go in the correct order.
Quality of the animation/art direction still holds up, music is amazing, voice cast is phenomenal.
2:41 didja just say that it was *purr* fect?
Yea they are right “on leather wings” is the first one but there’s no over arching story each is self contained so it doesn’t matter much
There was a Batman tv show, staring Adam West. And a 1966 movie.
* On Leather Wings is episode 1.
This is a great Batman series! An underrated animated series is The Batman.
