I've made this with the orange jello, mandarin oranges, cottage and cool whip. We've also made pistachio salad, cool whip, mini marshmallows, pistachio jello and some pecans.

yum I', gonna try this! I make one with pistachio pudding mix and crushed pineapple, cool whip and mini marshmallows. its sooo good. super easy. ❤

We don't have Cool Whip and Jell-O but we have a synthetic cream that's similar to the Cool Whip (we have to whip it first though) and we have Jelly powder similar to the Jell-O so I'm most definitely making this salad! I'm sure it's going to sell out first especially with the coconut and nuts added to the fruit. I love that combination. It's a BRAVO salad desert! 👏👏👏

Sharing one from coworker I’ve used many yrs. This is my supper in summer.
Save juice:
Drain Can fruit cocktail 15 oz
Drain pineapple tidbits 20oz
drained oranges, option
Add to fruit-banana, cherries, apple, kiwi, grapes, coconut -your preference
To drained juice: add 1 small box vanilla instant pudding
1 tsp Tang drink mix
Mix to dissolve
Add to fruit & enjoy

Tammy, I've made this and other variations of this salad. One time I didn't have any Jello when I thought I did, I'm winding up using package of Kool-Aid flavored drink mix that comes in single packets that you put in bottled water and Shake It. It turned out tremendously well, it was absolutely delicious I could not believe it!
We do one up this way with mini marshmallows but this looks so good, a good substitute for cool whip is 2 cups heavy cream, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract and 1/4 cup fine sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon instant clearjel, I can't believe how good this holds up, texture is very much like cool whip, if I have some left I freeze big dollops on parchment and then put in freezer bag, lasts several months that way. Now if any of your out of country subscribers can get instant (NOT cook type) clear jel, king arthur is a good source for a small amount. If you have any instant clear jel, try it Tammy I think you would love it.

Hi Tammy & Chris! The perfect salad for this summer heat wave! We've enjoyed this recipe several times this summer. We experimented with whipping up the cottage cheese until smooth and creamy before mixing all the ingredients together & spooning into into lined cupcake pans and slipping into the freezer for individual servings of frozen fruit salad. Cream cheese could be substituted for the cottage cheese if freezing the mixture. Either way, it's hard to beat this fruit salad for a delicious treat! Thanks for another video, y'all!

This is my favorite fruit salad!
We call this Fluff Salad......Orange, Cherry, Lime or Green etc. I like the oranges too. some of these call for Eagle Brand Milk and or Mini Marsh mellows. So many variations. All good.

Back in the 70’s, my family called this, “Working Girl Salad”.
It's my favorite salad IU strawberries pineapples and bananas we call it pink salad sometimes I put cream cheese in it
Tammy, my aunt used to make a fruit salad at Christmas every year that had an egg and some vinegar in the sauce she poured over the fruit. It was delicious. Your recipe looks scrumptious as well.

I couldn't wait til you finished to go into the pantry to get stuff to make this. Whoops, no orange jello, used green, then my cottage cheese was expired so I use sour cream and did not have the right extracts, so used almond. Not as good as yours but it was "fittin".
I think I would make that minus the cottage cheese and add mini marshmallows instead.

Yes, I see the Cottage Cheese there open, she just said 8 Oz. of cottage cheese, if your not a like cottage cheese,I would say,use cream cheese and, that should workout fine!
I was amazed when I first used. the cottage cheese. You will like it, I promise my Dad detests cottage cheese but LOVED it when I brought to a BBQ

Yummy my favorite salad is this one my mom made where she cooks the pineapple juice with orange juice I think with corn starch and sugar& that went over the fruit and it if course was chilled Waldorf salad too

I've never made this jello salad before, but I have made the 7Up jello salad and I do use real whipping cream in it and it works. I am sure real whipping cream in place of Cool whip would work for this also.
I make this a lot using different add one. I like colored marshmallows to make it stretch for many people, as an addition. I will try the extracts, Thanks!

Love making these salads I also add mini marshmallows the colored ones and cooked rice ..I like how it switches it up rice my grandma use to call it glorified rice

You can use that juice to make regular jello, just use it in place of water.
Instead of coolwhip you can mix sour cream & marshmallow cream.
