Me, a So Cal Japanese gal. My Mother in Law, a dear Huntsville, Alabama transplant to Cali. The first time I met "the family" she made exactly like this. I raved and excitedly exclaimed that it had "real Bananas" in it. Mind you, I grew up on Cook and Serve Jello Box Banana Pudding, plain with nothing in it, sometimes not even warm. Everyone laughed at me and then I did too as I realized how silly my comment was. They still loved me and I made sure that I learned to make all the Southern country recipes like her. I miss her so very much. I'll have to make this for Fourth of July in her honor!!!
Tammy , my mama always made everything from scratch. Every day she'd make something for us and every kid in our neighborhood..I've never heard of making pudding in a microwave for my banana pudding. Mama always used the stove. I will be making your banana pudding in memory of my sweet deaf mama and I thank you so much for teaching me how. Blessngs from South Carolina to you and Chris.. .
Looks absolutely delicious 😋 I love banana pudding and my grandma made it and it was wonderful! Thank you so very much for sharing your recipe and video! Love ya, Su ❤❤😊
_This really takes me back❣️ 😊 My Mom made her Banana Puddin' once a month. She didn't use a mixer for anything and we didn't get our first Microwave until the early 80s so my Mom would stand over her pot, slowly stirring the ingredients for the Pudding. What I really remember is the meringue. She would use this one Special platter and a fork. She would whip the Egg Whites while I would carefully sprinkle the sugar in until it "peaked". Boy, what our Parents did to make our childhood special_
I've been making homemade banana pudding for over 40 years and other than cooking the pudding in the microwave (genius, btw!), the one layer, and doing a meringue topping, my recipe is exactly like yours. After seeing your video though; the next time....I am DEFINITELY trying that meringue on the top!
Yes,Banana Pudding oh my oh my. My Momma made it homemade. She was blessed to be able to stay at home while Daddy worked. She made everything from scratch Cakes, icing, pies with scratch pie crust, peach cobbler, cookies, bread pudding. Lemon Pie with the glorious meringues. I know there was love in every ingredient. She would pick her own peaches peel and slice them and have them frozen in the freezer then just whip up a peach cobbler in the dead of winter . Oh how I love my momma. She’s 84 born and raised in South Carolina and still makes the best Lemon Pies and Banana Spice Cake..❤️ I love Banana Pudding. God Bless you all.
God bless you and your mom! She did a great job just like mine, Thank God for good moms and and we were blessed to have them in our homes full time! 🙏🏻 thank you for sharing!

My mother made homemade banana pudding and it was heavenly! My sisters and I follow her footsteps and cook it from scratch. I use the microwave and Momma would have loved that idea!
Your red hair is just so intoxicatingly gorgeous with your complexion! I can't wait to see this homemade pudding. It's one of my favorite simple guilty pleasures.
Yes, my mom made Homemade Banana Pudding, and I make it as well. I stand over the stove and cook my custard, stirring it with love until it’s thick enough. Nothing like the Old Fashioned way!!! Thanks for sharing, Tammy & Happy Father’s Day, Chris…
My mother made it from scratch but she didn’t use meringue she just cooked the pudding and put plastic film on it to let it cook and not form the skin on top. Then she put into her serving bowl and layered inputting down cookies then banana slices then more pudding and then bananas with cookie on top. Then she kept it refreshing. I hate bananas but my late husband loved banana pudding so I made them for him but I would get a small bowl and make myself a little pudding with just nilla wafers. Sometimes I would add coconut to mine. Coconut creme pie is my favorite.
Good evening everyone, My Mother never made Banana pudding my Grandmother did make it,,, it was delicious!! I miss all of her cooking! Thank you for sharing your recipes!!!
My mother made old fashion banana pudding. It's my favorite desert. The recipe years ago was on the box of Nabisco Vanilla Wafers. Watching this video sure makes me hungry for a big bowl. Happy Father's Day Chris. And enjoy your pudding.
I made this yesterday. My husband had been wanting the old fashioned type so i made it for him. It was good warm, but today it was cold and all of the flavors were mixed, and IT WAS AMAZING! (We have always liked ours better cold, and the day after it was made) Banana pudding was never a big favorite of our sons..... until he tried this one! He gave me the ultimate compliment when he said he ranked it as good as my blueberry cobbler. Thank you! And I ordered that glass batter bowl, on your Amazon list, since the dessert is a new family favorite. Loved cooking the pudding in the microwave.
My mama made banana pudding like this but with double boiler. There were no microwaves during that time period, and it was the best ever. Thanks for sharing, I think I'm gonna make it.😊
Mom always makes banana pudding but without the meringue with cookies on bottom and then several layers cookie and banana with cookies lining the outside as you layer in a glass dish ending with pudding on top yummy
Oh my goodness!!!! My mother has always made an amazing banana pudding. She doesn’t do it often anymore and now I’m cooking for my family. I think I might just make this tomorrow!!! Thanks Tammy!!! We love you!!! 😊😊
Mama would get up on Sunday and bake a banana pudding, a roast or whatever for Sunday lunch and get us all ready for church and there on time. No idea how she got it all done. It sure was nice to come home from church and lunch be all ready though.
Tammy! I made it! Omg! I've never had banana pudding. My hubby LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! Thank You for giving me the perfect recipe for Father's Day treat! *If you're reading this & thinking about making this... DO IT! Easy & yummy! My bananas weren't even ripe all the way. I sliced extremely thin and sprinkled sugar and sqeezed enough lemon juice to go around the plate once. I tossed them & let them sit while making the rest of the dish. So good & I'm excited for cold bites tomorrow.
My mom would make this for every holiday but me and her did not like bananas so she would make us a separate one with pineapples and omg were they good she's passed on now but i still think of her every time i make one!
I gave up on banana pudding years ago because of the hassle, but I made this yesterday and it is fantastic! I can hardly wait to try chocolate pies and coconut creme pies! THANKS!
Yes, my grandmother always made the old fashioned banana pudding. & thats the only way i make it. I cant stand going to a restaurant & they say old fashioned banana pudding & its got that awful instant jello pudding in it & to top that off its cold. I just want to say ,im sorry but thats not homemade & why is it cold? YUK, LOVE IT RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN.😊

Tammy thank you so much for this recipe. I haven't made banana pudding in years. I will never forget how my grandmother had us stirring and stirring and she made sure we didn't let nothing stick. I dreaded that but thank God for microwaves. I would have never thought of putting the pudding in the microwave had it not been for coming across your recipe. I'm excited about making one again and I will let you know how my family demolishes it because I know it's good. Have a great week you and your family. Elaine from North Carolina

Most store bought eggs are chickens only fed feed while free range or chickens that you raise produce an orange yolk is due to their ability to eat bugs which are high in protein
