Tammy , my mama always made everything from scratch. Every day she'd make something for us and every kid in our neighborhood..I've never heard of making pudding in a microwave for my banana pudding. Mama always used the stove. I will be making your banana pudding in memory of my sweet deaf mama and I thank you so much for teaching me how. Blessngs from South Carolina to you and Chris..

Thanks and welcome
I've been making homemade banana pudding for over 40 years and other than cooking the pudding in the microwave (genius, btw!), the one layer, and doing a meringue topping, my recipe is exactly like yours. After seeing your video though; the next time....I am DEFINITELY trying that meringue on the top!
Okay,❤🎉 CHRIS I am ready for you
So, what that got to do with it ❤🎉
Your red hair is just so intoxicatingly gorgeous with your complexion! I can't wait to see this homemade pudding. It's one of my favorite simple guilty pleasures.
I just made this and it is delicious. Thank you for this easy and classic tasting banana pudding recipe!
My mother made it from scratch but she didn’t use meringue she just cooked the pudding and put plastic film on it to let it cook and not form the skin on top. Then she put into her serving bowl and layered inputting down cookies then banana slices then more pudding and then bananas with cookie on top. Then she kept it refreshing. I hate bananas but my late husband loved banana pudding so I made them for him but I would get a small bowl and make myself a little pudding with just nilla wafers. Sometimes I would add coconut to mine. Coconut creme pie is my favorite.
Good evening everyone, My Mother never made Banana pudding my Grandmother did make it,,, it was delicious!! I miss all of her cooking! Thank you for sharing your recipes!!!
You are very talented. Thank you for your cooking videos. I enjoy watching you cook.👍😀👍😀😀
I made this yesterday. My husband had been wanting the old fashioned type so i made it for him. It was good warm, but today it was cold and all of the flavors were mixed, and IT WAS AMAZING! (We have always liked ours better cold, and the day after it was made)
Banana pudding was never a big favorite of our sons..... until he tried this one! He gave me the ultimate compliment when he said he ranked it as good as my blueberry cobbler.
Thank you! And I ordered that glass batter bowl, on your Amazon list, since the dessert is a new family favorite. Loved cooking the pudding in the microwave.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much. You brought back such good child hood memories. I will make this in honor of my dear mother.
Not had a banana pudding, ever. Ive had Instant banana pudding. 75 years old. Im trying this too. Thanks.
It’s 2am and I’m heading to Winco to get bananas and wafers so I can make this. My name is Mike and I’m addicted to UA-cam cooking videos 😂 👍👍
Mama would get up on Sunday and bake a banana pudding, a roast or whatever for Sunday lunch and get us all ready for church and there on time. No idea how she got it all done. It sure was nice to come home from church and lunch be all ready though.
Me, a So Cal Japanese gal. My Mother in Law, a dear Huntsville, Alabama transplant to Cali. The first time I met "the family" she made exactly like this. I raved and excitedly exclaimed that it had "real Bananas" in it. Mind you, I grew up on Cook and Serve Jello Box Banana Pudding, plain with nothing in it, sometimes not even warm. Everyone laughed at me and then I did too as I realized how silly my comment was. They still loved me and I made sure that I learned to make all the Southern country recipes like her. I miss her so very much. I'll have to make this for Fourth of July in her honor!!!
My grandmother God bless her soul. She always made homemade banana 🍌 pudding. Thank you for bringing back memories 🌷❤️🌷
You are so welcome
This brings back memories of Grandma making this dessert!!!!
My Mom made banana pudding but without the meringue. Oh the memories. Looks delicious.
YUM! The only kind of pudding to eat…from scratch! The box isn’t good once you’ve made it from scratch. 😍
Mom always makes banana pudding but without the meringue with cookies on bottom and then several layers cookie and banana with cookies lining the outside as you layer in a glass dish ending with pudding on top yummy
My Favorite Pudding. You dont see this much anymore. It is so Yummy.
Thank You
My mom would make this for every holiday but me and her did not like bananas so she would make us a separate one with pineapples and omg were they good she's passed on now but i still think of her every time i make one!
🍌Old Fashion is the Best ‼️🍌
Thanks for sharing your recipe 🥰👍🏾
Mother always made homemade banana pudding. And I as well. Dont really care for the unstant pudding. Yummy
I make banana pudding but hmmm, never thought about microwaving it.
I remember both instant and cooked banana pudding as a child depending on the amount of time they had. I liked both versions as long as those awful Nilla wafers were not on it. Nobody ate those.
Looks delicious. No my mom never made banana pudding.
My favorite dessert, homemade banana pudding ❤
I’ve begged my mother to make her banana pudding again but she no longer cooks. Maybe I should make it for her. Thank you!
You should!
Yes Ma’am my mother made banana pudding and so do I. Nothing better…
Yes, my grandmother always made the old fashioned banana pudding. & thats the only way i make it.
I cant stand going to a restaurant & they say old fashioned banana pudding & its got that awful instant jello pudding in it & to top that off its cold.
I just want to say ,im sorry but thats not homemade & why is it cold? YUK, LOVE IT RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN.😊
I love banana pudding but I think I’ll love this recipe even better ❤ Thank you for sharing Tammy ❤
My mama made from scratch, banana pudding & chocolate pudding & I make them from scratch, too & I also do pineapple pudding…I’ll have to try the microwave way…looks delicious…I like mine warm..
My mother didn’t make it but my mother-in-law did. My husband loved it but she would never share her recipe with me. Maybe I should surprise him with yours.
That looks luscious! Happy Father's Day Chris!
_This really takes me back❣️ 😊 My Mom made her Banana Puddin' once a month. She didn't use a mixer for anything and we didn't get our first Microwave until the early 80s so my Mom would stand over her pot, slowly stirring the ingredients for the Pudding. What I really remember is the meringue. She would use this one Special platter and a fork. She would whip the Egg Whites while I would carefully sprinkle the sugar in until it "peaked". Boy, what our Parents did to make our childhood special_
Man, I really thank God for parents like these. Special.
@@livingwater1054 Me too, I really do! Real people, real parents. And, who'd a thunk it in the 80's too. :) Peace be with you.
Tammy thank you so much for this recipe. I haven't made banana pudding in years. I will never forget how my grandmother had us stirring and stirring and she made sure we didn't let nothing stick. I dreaded that but thank God for microwaves. I would have never thought of putting the pudding in the microwave had it not been for coming across your recipe. I'm excited about making one again and I will let you know how my family demolishes it because I know it's good. Have a great week you and your family. Elaine from North Carolina
I found it easy to cook in microwave. Thanks for sharing that info.😊
I made your brownies yesterday and everyone loved them! Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing your recipe with us. I love homemade banana pudding 🍮 😋.
Most store bought eggs are chickens only fed feed while free range or chickens that you raise produce an orange yolk is due to their ability to eat bugs which are high in protein
I have JAZZ and I KNOW my body and you do you ❤🎉
I cannot have cocunts
Looks awesome. My recipe calls for cornstarch not flour. but whatever works Right?
Don’t forget to do video on chickens they sure have a beautiful place to live❤❤

Hi tammy and family
My mom would always fix it like that and we love it
And sometimes she would bake a cake and put the topping on it
Because the kids loved it
There's 10 kids lol
We love all but JESUS loves all more
If we will be obedient to GOD no matter what
Then we will see change
Sorry about your fall Tammy!! Heal quickly sister!
my mother never made a banana pudding in her life, but my grandmother made it from scratch. in fact, its the only thing i ever saw her cook. when we went to visit her, she & i would make it together. we followed the recipe on the side of the nilla wafers box. we would cook the custard slowly on the stove top, but then she taught me to fold the meringue into the custard. it made the pudding soooo light & fluffy. we would layer the custard, cookies & bananas twice into what was officially known as the banana pudding bowl, then put it into the fridge. we had to wait until the next day for the cookies to get soft. longest 24 hours of my life. i've never eaten it hot & never the same day. when i first saw nanner pudding with meringue on top, i thought it was crazy. i still prefer it the way i was taught.
i can't wait. my mom made the best all of could not wait on birthday. we ask mom for our birthday. there were 9 of us. mom didn't mine it was with love.
I’m so glad you made your Banana Pudding!!! ❤️❤️
My grandma made home made banana pies and also butterscotch pies. Yummmm
You could have let Chris have the first serving since it was Father's Day.
❤You are a great cook so many of your recipes remind me of growing up at home. My Mom used to cook everything from scratch , as a little boy l used to sit and watch her cook because I was always ready to eat. I learned and still remember all those different aromas in the kitchen it was heavenly. In that process I've learned to be a very good cook as a grown man. I am so thankful because that allows you not to have to rely on anyone to cook for you. So many of my friends have to wait on there wives to get home from work, me I know how to get in there and get the pots and pans shake rattle and rolling.😂😂😂 GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I'M SO GLAD YOU GUYS GOT A CHANCE TO MOVE CLOSER TO THEM.😊
Yes,Banana Pudding oh my oh my.
My Momma made it homemade. She was blessed to be able to stay at home while Daddy worked. She made everything from scratch Cakes, icing, pies with scratch pie crust, peach cobbler, cookies, bread pudding. Lemon Pie with the glorious meringues. I know there was love in every ingredient. She would pick her own peaches peel and slice them and have them frozen in the freezer then just whip up a peach cobbler in the dead of winter . Oh how I love my momma. She’s 84 born and raised in South Carolina and still makes the best Lemon Pies and Banana Spice Cake..❤️
I love Banana Pudding. God Bless you all.
Wow. Your Mom was a Boss❤️😊
And still is ❤
God bless you and your mom! She did a great job just like mine, Thank God for good moms and and we were blessed to have them in our homes full time! 🙏🏻 thank you for sharing!
@@lifeandlovewithmaltese Thank You Blessings.
@@jabez9710 Thank You. Blessings
Yummy! And it looks so pretty and delicious. 😊
Sorry to hear about your fall.
Tip:
Put some Arnica aka Arnica Montana cream or gel on your thigh. It helps with muscle aches and bruising.
Thank heavens somebody is making good old fashioned banana pudding, BAKED! That’s exactly how my mother made it and exactly how I make it! She also made her own custard for vanilla pudding not out of box!
We usually had the pudding on a Sunday afternoon after our fried chicken dinner, with mashed potatoes, homemade chicken gravy from fried chicken, corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes.
Sometimes she would make a homemade peach cobbler, using peaches in season.
Thank you for sharing your recipe!
MY MOMMA MADE BANANA PUDDING ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS...MADE HOME MADE PUDDING ON STOVE TOP WE DIDN'T HAVE MICROWAVE TIL MY MIDTEENS(63 NOW)..SHE USE SAY SAME THING BOUT MERANGE WEEPING..SHE USED OLD NON-ELECTRIC HAND MIXER..YOU USE TO HAVE 1 HANGING ON OTHER KITCHEN WALL...TELL MR CHRIS HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR TIME WITH US 😊
I made this awhile back and it was delicious!! Am I dreaming or does it seem like on one of her banana pudding/pie episodes she shared a trick for keeping the bananas from turning dark? It seemed like she cut out the seed part but I'm not positive, does anybody know?
Love your apron!!😻
I love banana pudding! 🍌🥰
I love banana pudding looks so good
You make it like my Mother, but she cooked it on the stove. When she would make it she would make me a smaller one without bananas. I do not like cooked bananas. Soooo good!
Wow! You're 100% RIGHT...I'd forgotten that years ago Banana Pudding WAS baked in the oven, NOT instant!
NO, SHE HATE's it
Yummy though I prefer it cold lol :P
Yes, my mother made home made banana pudding this exact same way. It’s the way I make mine too ❤️

Thats the ONLY banana pudding!! I wouldn't even bother with the instant pudding, id just do without.
Love your new kitchen !❤❤❤❤❤
I use Lorna Doone cookies, instead of vanilla wafer s 😋
I will try this one day. You sure make it look delicious!
Please pray for my neighborhood to get our power back on. Its been out almost 24 hours & the fellas stopped working on it. Many people losing precious food in warm fridges. 😭 Tomorrow is going to be hot too. I'd drive us somewhere, but my car acted up Sat. & I had to pray it home! 😢
Stainless steel stays cooler which is why your egg whites setup better in it. Next time, try chucking it in the fridge or freezer for a little bit before you whip up your egg whites. It'll cut down the mixing time by a bit.
I’ve always been told and heard that you’re supposed to let egg whites get to room temperature before you beat them to make meringue but have never heard to use a cold bowl. Have I been told wrong all these years? I’m sure gonna try what you said because I don’t have the best of luck when it comes to making meringue.
Great way to separate eggs
I am glad that you’re OK besides the bruise least you didn’t break anything but anyway, you have a good day and a fantastic night banana pudding my daughter loves banana pudding I like banana pudding too but without the bananas I know that sounds weird but anyway you have a blessed day you and your husband know falling
Looks amazing Tammy😋 You are making me hungry. Happy Father’s Day Chris!!
